Can't accommodate 200,000 players on their servers in a MASSIVE multiplayer online role playing game? *raises a brow*

Yes, it is all unravelling.
This whole Darkfall fiasco, just gets more and more bizzare.
Im just willing to bet the whole thing is fake, along with soc alled beat leakers, for all we know its this guy called Tasos doing those blogs. A week till another launch date, and another exuse. Very very strange. Now I really thik, nobody can be called a troll when saying anythign about this so called game. Im willing to bet, its a big joke that has just got way out of hand tbh.
The creator of "The Noob" is in on it too then. I really don't think she is faking her play time. Furthermore, its not even remotely surprising to me that they cannot handle 200K players in their beta. Try to remember that this is a beta, and thus they are making NO money at this point. Do you people have any ideal how much money it takes to buy, open, and operate a server cluster large enough to accomodate 200K players without crashing? Lets just say millions, and leave it at that. No, I don't suppose an indie team has millions to throw away on some beta phase like Blizzard or Mythic would. A smart business move would be to use that money ONLY when the game is released...so that you have income moving into the account at the same time you are moving it back out for more hardware.
Yes, big companies can do this well in advance, and even afford to run the servers for 3 months before release. Big companies also have 250 man teams and 80 million dollar budgets to play with. I seriously doubt ANY indie team has even half that to pretend to use on a project.

Hmm, Would like to see where you got these figures from...??
Or can you give me a valid link please...
80 million dollar budgets ?
Or are you just speculating ?

She made a strip (well, I guess it was her!) were a "vaporware troll" was being tortured to death. I think she is one of the most rabid fanatics, and certainly not the best objective reviewer. Not faking her playtime but overlooking major faults? possible.

You do know that thenoobcomic.com is hosted on Aventurine servers right?
For all you know it could be Tasos himself posting those

Exactly, this has gone just too far now. Like you said for all we know, this person Tasos is making those blogs up, or someone he actually knows.

I can agree with you on that point. I expect her to distort her view of the game because she is a fan. I do think that the game IS in testing, however.

The Noob updates FARRR to often to be Tasos. If Tasos were doing it...we'd only see a new strip every other year.
A joke where they signed contracts with 2 other companies? A joke where they have other sites such as mmorpg.it or whatever write about it? Where they give a live presentation? I guess it is possible.
Your mind is like a parachute, it's only useful when it's open.
Don't forget, you can use the block function on trolls.
thenoobcomic.com
White borders.
Nuff said.

That wasn't her strip, but nice try.

Ok, I'll bite.
The fanbois beat everyone over the head with cries of contracts from 2 legitimate companies.
But...
Tell me this. What are these 2 companies actually doing? Certainly Audio Visual has done absolutely NOTHING regarding this game pending release. Nothing what-so-ever, that I can see. They haven't even produced game box art for crying out loud. So, please inform me what these 2 partners are actually accomplishing?
The other partner is supposed to handle the server farm, but where are they? I'll tell you. They are doing NOTHING. If they were, then Aventurine wouldn't have THIS problem not being able to handle the load. So... If they have this wonderful CONTRACT with a server hosting site, then why are they housing the game on ONE in-house server they built themselves?
Go on...
Please explain to us all exactly what the contracts with those 2 companies are doing?
I'll wait.
If A/V is producing this game.....where's the "gold" disk? Shouldn't theys start printing if they wanted a January, or even February release? If it's going to be digitally hosted, then why use A/V at all?
Exactly!
AV is doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
It's funny how the fanbois were posting one after another browbeating us to death about the contract with AV. So, where are the fanbois to tell us exactly what the heck AV has done for the production and release of Darkfall?
I'm still waiting.

Didnt you know they now going digital lol. Hell they now doing so called pre orders. Whole god dman story is beyond a joke. Dont you all know Aventuarine are a secret greek military company with millions of dollars, and have done real world simulations for the greek army, and they ahve the worlds best Ai, and they have million dollar loans from mysteriuos companies. Lol the strories behind ths so called game and so called compnay are just the best. hell for all we know they are making terminator style robots to kill us all. Bloody fanbois running rmapant on this site for years and even untill today bashing anyone that said anyhting agasitn Darkfall.
Bloody Failfall nzis, now you can all caryr on with your spin, because we all now know this game is a sham, and anyone that wanst tof lame me they can, because now I have just been vindicated and anythign A tasso lover or Brannoc ass fucker wants to say to me they can lol.
map editors and character editors are very easy to create. Everything we've seen is about equal to what a person creates by going to one of those 'become a game creator' universities while they are still in school.
There is nothing 'Massively multiplayer' about what we've seen. There is nothing to even show they were playing on a remote computer.
Very basic map with very basic character running around a map. This is basically what ' The Noob' reported. She said all of the advanced features were turned off. All she heard was people 'talking' about them. Even she didn't see them firsthand.
Has anyone ever even found a phone number for Aventurine? If so someone should call the place and just snoop around and see if they can get a real live person who speaks english to talk to them... lol

I'de hardly call that mocking, it was one comment. And although a prelaunch MMO not beeing able to accommadate 200k players is hardly surprising it is worthy of an eyebrow raise.
"What is it that the gamers want from these games and why is it not given to them? We were playing these games ourselves, that's why we know it was not being done. So we moved in the opposite direction. We thought about what the users wanted, what we wanted, and why it wasn't happening and how it could happen." - Tasos Flambouras
I do but i won't be handing it out cause i don't want to ruin my chances.....
Iiii-iiiiiit's.... me!!! *Hooray*
So i was playing GTA 4 and got out of my apartment in South Bohan.
There was this guy being like "THE GOVERMENT IS A LIE, THE NEWS ARE A LIE. SPREAD LOVE, SPREAD THRUTH".
I love the new death effects.
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar, our only goal will be the western shore."
Exactly!

It looks to me that they just came to an agreement with those two companies. No funds are being exchanged at this time. A/V should handle distribution and GNi will be the server supplier.
But here is the odd thing I see: As far as I can tell there has been no type of client build uploaded to the GNi servers or any type of server. If this is true then how are they beta testing the game with the 3k beta testers they clam they have. Someone please explain this to me.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
Also about hireing people for customer service.
Tasos stated on the DF forum site 7 months ago that they where looking for and hireing people for this. Now they say they need time to set it up. WTH where these people doing all this time. (getting a pay check for nothing)
I think Tasos was blowing smoke then, and is still blowing smoke.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the underlined sentence.
Very very fishy if you ask me.
*the following is directed to everyone in general*
There are a lot of people with their hopes hung very high on this game being something great based on all the developers promises. As far as I can tell there is next to nothing tangible that says this game is even a reality. Almost every aspect of this mysterious game has the same footprints as Dark-n-light, Mourning and what was that Russian game that scammed money from people [10 bonus points if someone can remember that one]
Sure Darkfall sounds promising on paper, but so did those other games and look what happened. Why is there such hype for a game that hasn't even proven it is a reality? Now they want money up front?
Hope is a wonderful thing, but everything has its limits. My magic 8 ball says "wait and see... and do it from a safe distance"
