This forum have always have its lowmarks, but there have always been prople with the ability to form sentenses and discuss features with. Right now it seems as if all the people that couldent found anything meaningful to talk about before have somehow gathered here. I am programmer; i wrote a 10-line perl script that auto-creates MMORPG accounts specifically to troll mmorpg with, it's not difficult, the coders behind mmorpg.com are jokes.
personally i find tasos to be refreshingly upfront and straightforward, a great example of how developers *should* be. what he posts is closer to actual everyday truth in software development than any other developer of a MMO i have followed.
the fact he gets so much crap just rams home why game developers have historically hidden behind layers of PR bullshit -- cause gamers are just too immature to be able to digest the real truth.
The fact that he gets so much crap is because he tried to BS us in early December with his interview here.
If he had come clean with this "truth" then... it wouldn't have been as big of a deal.
It was his choice to wait unitl 1 week before Release to drop this news.
Nobody made him pick the 22nd as his Release date... that was his choice.
Nobody made him say they would never do pre-orders... that was his choice.
Nobody made him wait unitl the last minute to pick a publisher/distrubutor... that was his choice.
Nobody made him use such a paltry amount of Beta testers that they couldn't test everyting... that was his choice.
Now a lot of his choices are coming back to haunt him and prove to not be very good choices. We have yet to see if he has learned from his past mistakes.
