The core problem of AoC will never be fixed unless FC build the game completly over again with new engine tools. And even then, cos the lack of FC understanding of what "intuitive" means, it sure wouldnt look nice.

Personally, myself and many ex players have returned to the game, and found it to be very entertaining now (to say the least).
Considering the population is rising daily, and Tortage has been flooded with new players everytime I checked over the last week, I'd say all signs point to an obvious improvement.

What is better in the game now? I playd from open beta and i have n 80 barb. I playd 1 month then got tired of it. I had no problem with performence and i did not had any problem with bugs.

I didnt like the button smashing. Why in hell do i need to press a combo, then press 4 buttons just to make it autoattack? Its doesnt make sens. Have they removed tha time sinking button smashing?
Can we run and make combos now? Or will the char stand still when finishing the combo? They fixed it?
The FFA pvp really got bored fast for me and city seiging are fun 1-2 times. Is it alot better now?
Can i kill lvl 40 Elites mobs @ level 80 now?
Is dual weild barbarian still gimped? Do i have to dual specc and weapon switch dancing to have ANY chance?
Can i go back and do quest i havent done? /gray quests/
If i resub, what difference will there be?

They are not going to rework the combat system entirely just because a few individuals dislike it. Expecting them to, would be ridiculous. Combos were adjusted though.

You still stay in a fixed position when finishing the last step, but you were always able to move around while setting the combo up. You just had to time the last step properly. It was common knowledge that pure 2h Barb was the gimped build of the two. DW hybrids were pure ownage. If i resub, what difference will there be? In your case, probably not much, you seem dead set on the game being a failure. The changes you want to see occur are far too large in scale to ever happen, so in my opinion the game doesn't seem to be for you. If you disliked the combat and such before, you are not going to magically like it now.

Right now the game is sooo plagued with cheating and exploits i would avoid at all cost. Lots of people have great rigs and still have all kinds of problems, and the ones who say they don't are Norwegians protecting their Halmark company (think about it, what else does Norway make that has any noteriety?) .
Anyways if i were you, Id forget all about the AoC and get Crysis or Fallout 3 (with real DX10) and rock those games at max settings. If you just want eye candy (and there is NO other reason to bother with AoC) then go else where for that, or play a tried tested and true game that looks great (like Eve). If you want gameplay just about any other mmorpg is 10 times better than AoC. There are a million other games that will show off your PC's hardware better than AoC, perhaps not mmorpg- but why invest the time in a game that is virtually broken.
AoC is dying a slow prolonged death. FC is the joke of the gaming industry (true story) The people who are asking you to try it must have no taste, or alternative reasons to promote an overall bad gaming experience by any"real" Gamer's Standards.

Tbh I am tired of listening to clueless people. PvE in WoW is among the greatest, and statistics back it up. WoW is the most polished, fluid and dynamic MMO to this date. Never ever have I seen a game that keeps people coming back and play more so much. It is simply the example for all other MMO on how to do things right.
WoW is a great game and it is solid but it is like the McDonalds of MMOs, it was carefully crafted to be easy to swallow and appeal to the tastes of the majority of people. WoW has been very successfully pushing Burgers, err yet another Tier of gear / expansion.
For many MMO players WoW tastes good for a while but get boring fast and they want something more complex and spicier with more meat err... tougher consequences in PvP.

NOW the game works fine. It's nice to play, destiny quests are interesting, AOC' s world is impressive and great, music is really beautiful. FC improved this game a lot. I have a 41 ftm, (don't know if the HL is poor) . I took another month in AOC because it's one of the best mmorpgs: nice, interesting and has a storyline. IT's a RPG. and i like this game.
FC did the same thing before, the same BIG mistake with Anarchy Online; this game had one of the worst lauches of all times but now it's one of the best mmos.

No it's not. Everything was explained in the post following OP. C'mon you can do better than that. You will love PVP aspect, speccialy with full servers when you have both choices up to you- you can go duel (20+ duelists waiting for you ) or group pvp in khesh. Or when you are bored of fair play you can stand on the road killing everything that comes by (and thats alot in these days)
Sins are quite ok at the moment though. They are a bit boring if you ask me since they either kill or die very fast but thats probly the case with them all the time so if you liked the gameplay with it before you will like it with sin now.
I just built my new gaming rig, and it could totally beat the recommended requirements for this game's ass. I was thinking that if this game got any better, I could go to it from WoW. It's getting kinda old now ahah. So yeah, lemme know the current condition of the game is please. Thanks!
You will be sorely dissapointed with the unopenness of AoC. Nearly everything is zoned, so there are not wide open areas like Outlands and etc.
If you like melee combat, then AoC may be for you. If you like spellcasting, AoC probably has the worst casting system I have ever seen in an MMO. It is truly mindless and boring .
Those are the two reasons I won't come back to play. It feels more like a single player RPG due to zones, and I like spellcasting too much to put up with it.

The game is zoned so there are no open areas as large as Outlands, but there are large zones that take a while to travel across and are much larger than Alterac Vally.
Melee combat is different, no auto attack, positonal bonuses and actual collision with players and MOBs.
Casting is the same as the majority of other MMOs, target MOB push spell button, nothing new but certainly not lacking compared to WoW.

Those are the two reasons I won't come back to play. It feels more like a single player RPG due to zones, and I like spellcasting too much to put up with it.

As far as Canada's contribution to the world; it depends on what category you are asking about? If it's gaming, well EA and Rockstar all develop a lot of games out of Canada made by Canadians. Walt Disney recruits it's artists out of Montreal. I could talk about musicians or movie stars, like Celine Dion, or Mike Myers. James Cameron is Canadian. Our contributions during WWII right up to Afghanistan. I don't mind being in America's shadow as you say, but know our economy is one of the strongest in the world right now, because we are also a petrol nation. I could go on, but you are just trolling.

Well no, it's not the truth, it's a very biased viewpoint. Yes, there is some problems with the game (note why my subscription is not active), but it's nowhere near as bad as you say it is. I mean, it can't be THAT bad a game if you created a whole account just to troll on the AoC section of these boards.
As far as Canada's contribution to the gaming industry, pfft, EA and Rockstar both suck, one releases shitty sports games and the other has only ever had one good series, GTA, which has sucked since San Andreas. Oh also, you forgot the only good musicians to come from Canada (that would be Annihilator).

Played: EQ, EQII, AO, SWG, NGE-SWG, LoTRO, WAR, Vanguard, Eve, WWIIOL, Guild Wars, Darkfall, AoC.
Playing: DAoC.
Waiting For: SW:TOR.
The game is zoned so there are no open areas as large as Outlands, but there are large zones that take a while to travel across and are much larger than Alterac Vally.
Melee combat is different, no auto attack, positonal bonuses and actual collision with players and MOBs.
Casting is the same as the majority of other MMOs, target MOB push spell button, nothing new but certainly not lacking compared to WoW.

I've gotten a lot of mixed reviews, but overall it seems pretty cool. I'll just try it out for myself when I get a wireless adapter for my computer, and then maybe I can tell you what I thought =D
