I took this screenshot and video at 4pm today (monday).
I resubed 2 days ago and was shocked the moment I loged in.
I've been playing on/off since beta 2002. I've never left starsider, so I can't speak for other galaxies, however! The games community/population is easily equal to 2005 again here on Starsider. Yes I hate the NGE, yes I'm angry at SOE, no I haven't forgiven them. BUT I love my character and the world he lives in. While SWG has been turned inside out, its new bastard form has been refined a lot in the past few years, and I'm having a great time being back.

It would be one thing if I was one of those guys who tryed to convince everyone the NGE was amazing or some other lie. However, I'm telling the truth, the population is extremely high right now. Which for me makes for a very fun time! PVP is very active, cantina's on far off planets have dancers again, and if you want a group finding one only takes a minute.

Why dont you take a SS of the actual population... everyone knows SOE reduced the threshold of Pop count to 1 for medium and 4 for very heavy.

Alright, I'll take some actual screenshots of people, and I'll have my character say the date when I take them.. Yeah I could photoshop it.. but I'm not. Have any requests? Theed? Eisley? Most servers are still Very Low. However, the "free character transfers" have made a few Very High. Thats all that matters right?

Hey, im glad someone mentioned this because i was pretty suprised myself. I was able to loggin to star wars galaxies last night after i realized my account was activated for free and its rediculously shocking how many people are back. I left months ago because the population was not satisfactory but thank the goddess on my server Starsider its PACKED!!! The real test for me was the fact that there are actually tons of players on other planets OTHER than tatooine in mos eisley since i dont feel like getting stuck on one damn planet. The only game i was awaiting is darkfall but im SO happy the game is back and running in star wars!!! YEAY!!! you guys should check your accounts to see if they were reactivated by the way because its worth coming back if you feel like it now.

Anyway, It would be incredibly sad if SOE was clearling out half of their servers and COULDN'T fill at least one of them.
You have free transfers going on right now for half of the servers, and Starstrider is one of the most popular destinations. I would hope it would fill up after that.

Who cares what the total population is if there is One amazing server everyone can play on..i always thought it was rediculous spreading out the population anyway
I just got the all access and bought the latest 2 expansions and yes more than half of their servers are medium to heavy the rest are dead. But still a lot more people than you would think and I was shocked as well. I think the mentioning of Kotor and Clone Wars series has got more people in the Star Wars mood. But when Kotor comes out, SWG is dead, unless they pull some kind of magic update out of the magician’s hat.

The servers do have a high population again at the moment (destination servers after the transfers).
Also there is a VET Come-back going on now since a while that runs out mid february.
So when mid february passes then we will know how many will stick around.
But nonetheless... at the moment the servers are pretty filled up. So the OP isn't lying.
LOL I forgot about the free month. I will make a new toon tonight to see the population.

What a load of nonsense. My main is on Starsider and believe me that shard while not as empty as the rest does not have many players on it.
Don't make a fool out of yourself by trying to pass off an empty server as being full.
Let's face the facts, this game is dead and will remain so. Nothing SOE can do to change that.
I would have thought you'd try to promote the game with your video. That was terrible. I saw maybe 15 players. 15 players does not an mmo make. But im sure that's jUST because the world is so big right? Lets not touch on graphical bugs that rear their ugly heads all the way through. But im sure thats jUST because of fraps...
Try to capture/edit together some video where the game doesnt look like shit and people might pay attention. Other than that, lets just wait and see how many people dont resub once theyve played FOR FREE. Shall I be the one to remind people that none of those people are actually paying to play?
Playing polished, lag free, feature complete games is carebear. Whining about a game you hate but still play is hardcore man!
on the contrary if they made a few pre-cu servers it is my theory that some of the vets of SWG will return to the game happily.

Well if they ever get rid of Smedley, they might put some pre-CU servers back on, a lot of us would then go back, but Smedley has already stated they will not do that as long as he is there.

I used the free trial thing last week & LMFAO sums it up tbh!
IN NO WAY ARE ANY OF THE SERVERS THAT I LOOKED AT 'HEAVY POP'!!!

It's still laggy, buggy & the servers are empty need i go further?...

Basically the game has been gimped so much over the years that now its a bigger mess than ever
It's a lvl based linear wow clone game in a SWG skin but sat on top of an old sandbox style game
It's a hybrid mess of mmo's, it's just got no sense of individuality any more nor is there any signs of fun
it rocked many years ago but $OE & LA constantly f*ked around with it as though it was still in
alpha stages & didn't care about ppl who spent many months or years on various paying accounts lvling up
My advice steer well clear it's despressing!!!
Oh & btw im a 2003 veteran with force sensitive unlocked chars before the cu was implemented

Cant judge about population before NGE since i just started SWG trial, but Starsider and Farstar have alot of people in starting areas, thats for sure. Almost too many.
Love the game, btw. And I saw every MMO out there
