Okay I'm truly sick of the reason so many people want Darkfall. Nearly every single one of you want the "no target" fighting style. Well I have a very, very major surprise for you! There are already games out there that would fulfill your needs! Check out Rakion: Chaos Force, Gunz, Any FPS (Call of Duty is great if you haven't tried it) and also check out the wonderful world of mods! There are mods for Half-Life 2 for a little bit of everything and they still look and play better than Darkfall. Also I'd recommend putting your hopes in Mount and Blade, Tera, Dragons Nest, or many other larger studio made games similar to Darkfall. Just please don't disillusion yourself for this frankly sketchy game.
Note: This isn't a troll post and it's more me trying to figure out what everyone actually see's in this game. Feel free to give real feedback and you might actually convert me.

I think you are on the wrong forums? Maybe post this on the official DF forums? There are like 6 of us here that actually like the game... Everyone else just wants to troll it, bash it, hate it, predict it's doom, and make fun of us who enjoy it.
Why do I like it? I am sick of trying to explain it. I play it, I enjoy it, and I have a lot of fun. I am sorry that's the case, but I can't help it. Maybe the question is why do so many people feel the need to go out of the way to be negative about it?

It is difficult for anyone to convert you until we all get to see the final version of DFO, I have played some of them games you quoted but I want an MMO as I want to be able to play a new game as the older games have become long in the tooth for me. I am hoping that DFO will give me a new challenge and from what a few friends of mine have disclosed to me from beta there is hope for this game.
I am like many others can not understand why we have heard little from the developers about the games release this coming 25th, but in the same breathe I am not going to criticise them for not providing us with up to date information as they must have their reasons, what they are, only they know and weather they are genuine or not we will not know until we finally get to see the game if at all we do. I am sure everyone is frustrated with this lack of information one way or the other.
I am not sure that anyone will convert you as you say, but that will be entirely up too you as to weather you decide to play this product as with many others. As for the game mechanics again we can only judge this once we have had the opportunity to try it or it is brought into the open for others to try and leave their comments and feed-back on it.
Lets not beat about the bush here there is no perfect game, the problem with any game weather brilliant or not they wear thin after playing it for some time, this is why I prefer MMO's as the community is normally far more a bigger part of these type of games and this is what I play them for and the game sort of takes second place and provided you are able to play the game without to much complication then this combined can make for a fun product to play.
I am like many other gamers out there always looking to try something new in hope that it is the one, but I have come to realise there is no ONE, each game has it's pluses and minuses which change from player to player and that's what make MMO's so diverse IMHO.

Rakion and Gunz suck. FPS are not RPGs, and that argument is getting very over played even though it makes no sense. I can mod the hell out of HL2 or play M&B etc, but where's my MMO portion?
What I want is a skill based, not class based, non targeting MMO.

Those are not online games, apart from Rakion and CoD (which I have by the way), which aren't an MMORPG, so what's your point?
We want an MMORPG with those combat elements.

There is not 1 single thing that is unique about Darkfall.. other than it's horrific animations maybe and equally horrific producer

I feel most of the trolls on here are not trying to keep people from playing DF, I think they are putting some good points on what the game so far has shown us as well how long in development it has been. I know the time being developed isn't any factor to you fanboy's, say but how long is too long for a game to be developed? ask yourselves that, no need for me to elaborate here. I just wonder how many will post on here after getting Darkfall if it isn't what they think it is and say they are disappointed, I don't think may will, as well if Darkfall does turn out to be the type of game that it has been saying along all those so called trolls will they come on here admit they were wrong in the views they took towards DF.
Smarter than the average bear? That is assuming bears are smart.
To be fair alot of the "trolling" has been about;
1. The GFX are NOT brilliant by 2009 standards, 2005 perhaps, based upon the beta leaks.
2. The animations look awful by any standard.
3. It WILL be a gankfest unless there are so few people to populate the massive land mass
4. Tossos has spouted nothing but lies since 2004.
5. Darkfall / Tossos are setting themselves up for a fall by promising so much. The more you promise the harder it is to deliver quality.
6. All of the above have come to pass due to adventrine's unwillingness to demonstrate their game properly and openly even though we are 3 weeks past the launch date given and only 13 days from the next launch date.
But, as always. You decide.

OP you seem to have strayed off the reservation, this here game, Darkfall Online (hence forth called DFO) is the only game that caters to
-MMO lovers
-Skill based fight lovers
-Sandbox lovers
-FPS lovers (in some way anywhays)
-Class haters
-Level haters
and so foth.
There are plenty of other games, so I do not see the reason to your "Total Rant" since noone is forcing you to play or read about this game.

No sir you are mistaken, Darkfall is the only game that has all those fantastic advanced revolutionary never seen before in any other game features, I have never actually played Darkfall nor even ever heard of any of those other inferior games you are ranting about you silly troll hater, but I can assure you I am 100% totally correct because Tasos said so and I believe him, and 2/3rds of Tasos's friends polled said Darkfall is the best game ever so I must be right.
If you had spent 5 nanoseconds researching the game on youtube yourself instead of making this pointless irrelevant wall of text rant saying nothing new you would see proof that Darkfall has the most revolutionary advanced groundbreaking next generation triple A combat system of the future that will send shock waves around the MMO industry for years to come for yourself.
Instead of whining about things you don't understand why don't you just go away and play all those other carebear WoW clone rubbish easy mode games you like and leave us hardcore elite sandbox veteran open PvP gamers to the only game of its type left that we have been waiting 8 years for, we don't need you and your not worthy enough to play are game anyway its only for superior gamers of the highest quality who appreciate what the developers have truly achieved.

Dude a gankfest game like this IS easy mode. Six of my buddies are gonna grind in game before you can get as high as us and we're going to grief and gank your lowbie self until you quit cause we're elite! And ganking lowbies isn't easy mode, I'm just that much better than you!!!

I'm guessing when you said your waiting 8 years for a good sandbox game I'm assuming your referring to UO pre tram???

i have played all the games the OP suggests, and DF is better than them all, though TF2 and DF are pretty close for overall fun-ness.

Uh... not sure if you missed the point or if I missed yours. 8 years is how long Razorwax/Aventurine have been talking about Darkfall and how great it's going to be and how it's nearly ready for release any day now.
Heh nice post Polarization, a succinct and accurate summary of the 500+ threads of pro-DF drivel we've been wading through these last few months. The only real variation between any of them is their wildly varying punctuation skills.
Are any of those games mmo`s?
The only game I`ve heard of is Mount and blade. And the reason I did, was because some said the fighting in DF was similar to Mount and blade so I had take a look. Maybe some of those games need some kind of Tasos dude to hype there games, or we will never know they exist.
And you are wrong ProfRed, I think we are atleast 10 who like Darkfall in here.
