You could not be further from the truth.
Most of the people on here are fans of the DF concepts. I am a major critic of Tasos and AV, but have repeatedly said I hope the game proves me wrong. Even if the game is 1/2 finished I will most likely try/buy it a couple of months after release. A fan is not just someone who constantly praises everything... A fan CAN have concerns and try to get them addressed.
The problem with most of the fanbois on here is they have an elitist attitude. If you question their game the magic idol that makes them elite, they go balistic and start throwing insults. Some have even gone so far as to use slimy tactics to get people banned from the boards.
You are not elite for having blind faith in the game just like I am not a troll for being critical of Tasos and AV.

No sir you are mistaken, Darkfall is the only game that has all those fantastic advanced revolutionary never seen before in any other game features, I have never actually played Darkfall nor even ever heard of any of those other inferior games you are ranting about you silly troll hater, but I can assure you I am 100% totally correct because Tasos said so and I believe him, and 2/3rds of Tasos's friends polled said Darkfall is the best game ever so I must be right. If you had spent 5 nanoseconds researching the game on youtube yourself instead of making this pointless irrelevant wall of text rant saying nothing new you would see proof that Darkfall has the most revolutionary advanced groundbreaking next generation triple A combat system of the future that will send shock waves around the MMO industry for years to come for yourself. ProfRed, please tell me you are just taking unwarranted shots at people like me. How many times do we have to say we love the concept of Darkfall? If you are going to troll the trolls, at least do it right. We love the concept. We don't like Aventurine because they have total contempt for the fanbase and don't even know what communication is. If there is anything I hate about DFO, it is Tasos. It isn't your fault or any other fanbois fault that Tasos is the ultimate liar of the MMORPG community.
We get to all try before we buy, right? There will be no pre-orders, right? Look back at Tasos resume he posted in August with all those games he said he worked on only to be proven wrong on all counts and he apologizes saying that he misquoted his own resume. I don't see how you can't dislike Aventurine...It's not only Tasos that's making these wild, unjustified statements. He doesn't just show up at conventions to give a speech while the devs look at eachother confused, then agree to let the random guy speak. He is a part of their actions. Tasos is the guy that Aventurine chose to be their PR guy. He says what they want him to say, and goes where they want him to go. He may do some of these things of his own accord, but there are checks and balances.

When Tasos screws up and claims that Darkfall's feature-complete, yet has a SHIT-ton of flaws within the beta (I'm going on opinions of leakers, here) it's not only Tasos' fault, but Aventurine's for letting him spew his crap. Aventurine allowed Tasos to make these absurd claims, and now they've to meet another deadline.
I really don't think Darkfall's ready, I think it has a LOT of potential. But once again I think Aventurine and Tasos will dig themselves into another hole. Did I mention that a huge amount of features that Darkfall was boasted as having, aren't included? Mounts, Mob AI (equipping looted weapons/armor), siege systems with "walls". Sure, they may be released with the game on the 25th...But aren't you worried that they won't be, seeing as the leakers haven't mentioned them?
I have said it "many" times, I would LOVE Aventurine if they were upfront with the community. A closed-beta with an NDA, is not being upfront. Dev journals would have gone a long way throughout the last eight years. Instead the community has been kept in the dark and lied to on a great many occasions. I truly think the 25th will be another of those days. And to assure you, I'd be glad if Darkfall's delayed, I want it to release on a positive note. I just want to know why it happened, and what the problems were, when they were happening.

Yo I am in Prof's guild and he got really pissed when someone on these forums saw he had a 8 week old daughter and sent a very rude and degrading PM to him talking about his daughter. I doubt he'll be around here much anymore.
Anyway though while he was extreme he did have a good point. Why does it matter if people like the game? Why can't they like it and talk about it here? Actually I don’t really care about the no target aspect of Darkfall.
They could implement targeting right now and I wouldn’t really have a problem with it… in fact some sort of targeting could probably improve melee combat which is absolutely horrible right now.
The short answer to why I am attracted to Darkfall is because Ultima Online II was never released and at the moment Darkfall is as close to old school UO as any game out or in development or should I say… the version of Darkfall that was promised on their website is as close to old school UO..… not so much what was given to us in Beta.
Without some miracle patch at the end I am going to have to stick with EVE as my UO substitute.

Hey thanks for the concern. I love debating here. Get a real kick out of it, and I am not really letting it get to me too much, but when something that I do for fun becomes not so fun and I start getting really disturbing threats it is just too much. I'll be around MMORPG.com, but I won't post much here. I will talk to anyone about DF and what I think is good and bad about it through PM.
If you miss Prof and want some loving he is the one who capped, edited, and upped all of the vids on my youtube profile. Maybe now he will make more and stop wasting his time here.
Okay I'm truly sick of the reason so many people want Darkfall. Nearly every single one of you want the "no target" fighting style. Well I have a very, very major surprise for you! There are already games out there that would fulfill your needs! Check out Rakion: Chaos Force, Gunz, Any FPS (Call of Duty is great if you haven't tried it) and also check out the wonderful world of mods! There are mods for Half-Life 2 for a little bit of everything and they still look and play better than Darkfall. Also I'd recommend putting your hopes in Mount and Blade, Tera, Dragons Nest, or many other larger studio made games similar to Darkfall. Just please don't disillusion yourself for this frankly sketchy game.

Actually I don’t really care about the no target aspect of Darkfall.
They could implement targeting right now and I wouldn’t really have a problem with it… in fact some sort of targeting could probably improve melee combat which is absolutely horrible right now.
The short answer to why I am attracted to Darkfall is because Ultima Online II was never released and at the moment Darkfall is as close to old school UO as any game out or in development or should I say… the version of Darkfall that was promised on their website is as close to old school UO..… not so much what was given to us in Beta.
Without some miracle patch at the end I am going to have to stick with EVE as my UO substitute.

ProfRed, please tell me you are just taking unwarranted shots at people like me. How many times do we have to say we love the concept of Darkfall? If you are going to troll the trolls, at least do it right. We love the concept. We don't like Aventurine because they have total contempt for the fanbase and don't even know what communication is. If there is anything I hate about DFO, it is Tasos. It isn't your fault or any other fanbois fault that Tasos is the ultimate liar of the MMORPG community.
We get to all try before we buy, right? There will be no pre-orders, right? Look back at Tasos resume he posted in August with all those games he said he worked on only to be proven wrong on all counts and he apologizes saying that he misquoted his own resume. I mean seriously, you have got to admit there are enough reasons why people would be suspect in believing anything Tasos said.
I don't think the question should be "why do so many people feel the need to go out of their way to be negative about it?" I think maybe the right question should be, "Why can't the fanbois admit that maybe Aventurine, and Tasos specificially, give people good reason to doubt the project?"
Yo I am in Prof's guild and he got really pissed when someone on these forums saw he had a 8 week old daughter and sent a very rude and degrading PM to him talking about his daughter. I doubt he'll be around here much anymore.
Anyway though while he was extreme he did have a good point. Why does it matter if people like the game? Why can't they like it and talk about it here? It is always so tense here, and there is someone on both sides of the fence ready to jump down everyone elses throat. It is just out of hand and ridiculous. The OP here is a perfect example of how ridiculous it is.
Whatever though.. people love drama I guess.
I'm sorry to hear something like that happened to ProfRed. Most of the time I may not agree with what he has to say, but I always respect what people have to say non the less. Hopefully, whom ever did that to ProfRed will be banned off the forums. It is one thing to have a go at each other, it is something else all together taking shots at a baby. Please let ProfRed know not to let the asshots on the forums get the best of him. There are many of us that enjoy debate with him.

Hey thanks for the concern. I love debating here. Get a real kick out of it, and I am not really letting it get to me too much, but when something that I do for fun becomes not so fun and I start getting really disturbing threats it is just too much. I'll be around MMORPG.com, but I won't post much here. I will talk to anyone about DF and what I think is good and bad about it through PM.
