if they have lag issues at first that will be fixed, we are at a technological level where its basically a matter of tweaking, and since they are using NGi as their service provider they will have proffesionals to help them do that.
This is where I have to cry BS. Belief that lag and technical issues will magically solve themselves at launch or that poor performance is just from mystical debugging gear or whatever is one of the most pernicious myths around.
A company which has good solid techies with a clue and gives them the proper resources would be working *fine* at the beta stage. Issues should be program bugs and content issues at that point, not basic stabiity and connection issues. If they cannot handle the load with less than 2k beta players, they will implode with a giant sucking sound the day they try to support 5x or 50x that number. (as nearly every "troubled" MMO launch has shown)
