Is there anything to look forward to in 2009?!

Well, i've just been looking over the releases of 2009 and nothing excites me

The only games that have remotely peaked my interests are:

Fallen Earth, Stargate Worlds and Earthrise.

What about the rest of the community, is there anything that excites you?

With the financial crysis and economies tanking I look forward to seeing a lot of these game companies crashing and burning.  Not to get joy from the failure of people and companies but I think the gaming industry has been screwing their customers over with incomplete and poorly suported produst for a long time.  With money becoming tight I think it will be a good thing to see many of these games, and developers, go belly up as people start to demand more quality for their dollar(s).  Perhaps out of the ashes some more innovation can rise up and move the genre forward.

I wouldn't expect SGW to launch this year, from what I've been reading they're hemeraging staff because they've refused to pay them.  Having trouble getting a job, and working at a place where they don't pay you... I'm not sure which is worse.

I'm looking forward to Champions Online, and might give JumpGate a whirl (for the first time since 2000).

That's about it though... Champions is really my bet for this year.

Well after picking up WAR and then feeling let down  i'm going for LotRO but i dont know how long that can hold my attention. I long for game that grabs me as SWG and DAoC did.

If what grabs you is represented by SWG in some way then don't bother with LotRO.  Yes, a very well made game and a great large world, but it is so friggin' cookie cutter bland it is painful.  Bored of the Rings Online.

Champions Online, Jumpgate Evolution and Aion seem to be the best to offer for 2009 so far unless SW:TOR releases this year which the majority feel that will not happen this year.

I'm building my Jumpgate Evolution cockpit as we speak.

Then there's Champions Online and Earthrise.

There's not enough time in the day to play one of those, let alone 3.

So yeah, plenty to look forward to in 09'. Just need some patience and faith, the MMOG revolution has barely begun.

Actually, after watching a video of Aion combat, 'looks' like a nice game; as we all know, however, games arent all about graphics.

I was an avid fan of CoH/V, so I'm definitely looking forward to Champions online...or as some are calling it CoH2

Aion, Champions Online, maybe Star Trek Online, and the beta for SWTOR.

Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day.
And then Nebraska would get nerfed.-pinkwood lotro fourms

Nope. No releases to look forward to for me in 2009.

I'm looking forward to The Chronicles of Spellborn.  A few other games have a chance of being good.

Of course, if a game comes out in 2009 and I end up really liking it, there's a fair chance that I won't pick it up until about 2011.  There's no need to be on the bleeding edge and have to deal with disastrous launches.

Aion is probably the only game I will buy but I am looking forward to the DF launch. I hope that it goes well but I will not jump into that game until I know for sure it's not DnL 2.

My friend got into beta and told me it sucked anyways.

I'm not lookiong forward to anything announced because none of it is what I want. It's all buggy, unpolished overhyped crap or just not going to be for me like ToR. Obviously I'll give ToR a go because out of everything it's the only thing that will be good. However the way that games going to be setup, it'll just piss me off too much to see Jedi looting their light sabers.

I'm looking forward to the relaunch of Face of Mankind.  Maybe a bit of Jumpgate Evolution as well.  I'm sure there are a lot more I'd be willing to try coming out this year that are under the radar as well, such as the English release of Concerto Gate (if it ever comes through, that is).  I was looking forward to Darkfall, but I sort of lost my drive to play it when they said they'd make January and didn't.  I'm sure I'll get around to at least giving it a spin sometime this year, but I certainly won't be jumping on it when it releases.

I'm not expecting any huge, ground breaking MMOs, but I'm not expecting garbage either.  Just some decent games.
