It doesn't do any good to gloat when the launch is such a disaster, you know. Maybe if Darkfall was actually up and running, you'd have a leg to stand on. Right now? Not so much.
You cannot comment on a LAUNCH, until a game is LAUNCHED, that's kind of the point. But you trolls have wanted this game to suffer from the start, some going so far as to DDOS it the day beta opened up. Don't really know why you'd attack and indie company while Funcom runs away with one of the biggest scams in MMO history. But you know, thats just me...
Launch was the 25th correct? Did it launch on the 25th? Yes or no....no correct? Dont let the door hit you on the way out.
The launch is a disaster, preordering is a disaster, and most of us won't be able to play until mid march (if not later). Why is Aventurine not being honest with us?
Honest?
I agree the launch is a disaster so far, but considering they do not have the same resources as Funcom anfd Mythic I am still quite impressed that the gamer is almost realeased.
But seriously?
Aventurine have been saying for more than a month that they won't be able to make a mass release of the game, because they do not have enough resources.
1 month in advance they foreseen this, admit it and apologiesed for it.
What else do you guys want?
Aventurine is almost a family run MMO compared to the big guns out there which released bigger shit than DF, why don't you guys give them a break?

They, of course being Armchair Quarterbacks, wouldn't realize that a ton of the problems that may occur, because of being in a separate country and having a semi-global launch, can actually be out of Aventurine's hands. Then again, this is mmorpg.com, where if a problem with Darkfall occurs it's 100% Aventurine's fault even if it was proven to be a mouse under the troll/hater's computer desk, chewing away at the cords.
How the hell wouldn't it be their fault? If you are buying into the pre-orders aren't processing yet crap you are really gullible.
The fact is they are not ready, they haven't been ready and they are not going to be ready for quite a while. It is their fault only for not testing the core important of any MMO during beta, the stress test. Sure they can force this launch and they probably will but the fanbois will get a mouth full when they try to play and all they get is lag city and downtime after downtime.
Defend them all you want it isn't changing anything and AV will be known for the shittiest launch possibly ever.

Oh you trolls are so cute. Call me back when Darkfall isn't sold out. Fail? Hardly.
Dark and Light sold out pre-orders also. Next?
Dark and Light also didn't function. I've played the beta, Darkfall is fine.
Next?

Coming from an obvious Anti-DF troll that's pretty amusing.
Except that Signus is actually a forum mod for AV and a member of their community staff. He even admits as much.
That said, Aventurine owes the people who have pre-ordered much more communication than they've provided so far. There's no longer a beta to hide behind. This is real, with the game supposedly launching today, and with money already changing hands. If AV expects to be taken seriously as a business, they're going to have to do a lot more than they've done so far, including owning up to their mistakes and taking responsibility when things go wrong.
What? They just released an update saying billing was taking longer than they thought(and are adding extra days to the first free month).....and that preorders will get into the servers tonight. What more do you want?
I would personally like some pie!
To the op: What would an apology from them net your, or anyone else who has preordered or plan to? I would rather them fix the problem than waste time bowing to every fan's whims, but that is just my opinion mate.
Cheers!
I'd like some pie too, but instead, let me tell you a little story about apologies...
Many years ago, when I was still a mere newbie in my profession, I made a huge mistake and had to go break the news to my boss. After recounting all the gory details, I said, "I'm sorry. I screwed up." Her response?
Aventurine have been saying for more than a month that they won't be able to make a mass release of the game, because they do not have enough resources.
1 month in advance they foreseen this, admit it and apologiesed for it.
What interviews are you reading? Every interview Tasos has done has exuded nothing but his typical overconfidence with absolutely NO indication or admission that they expected problems, much less were apologizing for it.
An easy example to find is right here on this site (but you can pick any of the interviews on other sites, they all say the same thing)
Doesn't sound to me like he's saying they were expecting problems and apologizing for it, does it? It's a little early to start trying to re-write the history of this game.
The community would be cutting them a break if they had behaved in the way you suggest they had, but they haven't. Aventurine has done nothing but insistent that everything is perfect and going along just fun. Now they have to prove it.

I agreed w/ everything you said until this. Disgusting imbalances? Name them. Huge problems? Name them. You can't come up with non-subjective answers besides the current harvesting skills system encouraging macroing.
Magic leveling vs. Melee leveling <<<<< Thats a pretty bad imbalance
level 20 skill + level 0 wep is 4 - 5 times weaker than level 0 skill + level 20 wep <<<< Thats a pretty bad imbalance
300 - 400 skills of which are only about 50 unique skills <<<<< Thats pretty fcked up
Animations <<<<<< Thats pretty fcked up
Siege mechanics / Ship building not tested <<<<<<<<<< Thats pretty fcked up
Easily exploitable flagging system <<<<<<< Its a personal opinion but its still fcked up

Aye, you cant say things were not the companies fault when they are issues the company should have been ready for.
Again it just shows poor planning on their part. If they actually planned for this months in advance (as many companies-both big and small- do) They would have had some contingency plans in place.
There are 3 types of people in the world. 1.) Those who make things happen 2.) Those who watch things happen 3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
Everybody saying give them a break, they don't have the resources, they are a small company. Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah. This is the problem wih all MMO's these days. You people actually think it's OK for any company to release in an unfinished state. You think it's ok for the game to not launch at all because of things like this. In the business I'm in, what I produce is expected to work. No excuses, just work. No matter how you look at this Darkfall story, at the moment, it's a complete failure. Until it is "launched" and works and all feature rich with the promises made for years, it is a failure. The simple fact that most of you think this is OK really says alot about people and their acceptance levels of the amount of shit a company can throw out and stil be considered ok. Everybody needs to man up and call a failure a failure.
Honestly I think people are seriously forgetting why AV is not communicating. The more people who lose interest, or don't want to play RIGHT NOW, the less stressed their release is. They even said in one of their posts that they could not curb enthusiasm for the game DESPITE THEIR BEST EFFORTS in the last delay news post.
You may be thinking....That makes no sence why would a company want to quell enthusiasm for a game? I mean AV hasn't hyped this game at all hardly except for some interviews in the last 4 months. They have seen mmo after mmo get hyped up and fail misrebly over the last 10 years. AOC, TR, WAR were all destroyed by the insaine pedastle that their player bases and marketing deptartments put them up on.
Darkfall is a niche game, it's directed at a very small MMORPG player market. Spending the money to support 500K players when half are going to leave and lose interest anyway isn't feasable, and it's not smart. People need to be more educated about the game and what it's really about before they can dedicate 50 servers and all that money to the game.

Actually all BS aside even thought its delayed they appear to have fufilled the expectations of quite a few people in respect to the game they want to play, and whom are willing to invest thier faith into AV insofar as it is nessessary for them to improve the game.
So in effect the game as it relates to AV's goals appears to be a success, they wanted 10k initally, they got it. They will expand further population as they are able, as they stated. So it appears they have hit thier current goals and are happy with the results, the issue however is the failure to launch....Houston...we have a problem.
For the sake of the dedicated fans I hope they resolve it soon. Further if the client is as stable as stated once people DO ACTUALLY GET IN, they shouldnt experience problems like what those of us for example experienced in AO. I remember running into zone walls a few hundred times after open and not transitioning. Was funny, because I felt like a idiot monkey paying to be kept in a glass box.
