Yeah I went and checked the SOL site when I first heard about it on the WOW forums. I then went looking around their forums to see what else I could find and checked back to what everyone was saying on the WOW forums. I made up my mind and decided to take some pictures but when I went back they changed where the links went.
Very good job eschient, at least we have some proof to show Blizz and Nvidia what happened. Just need for them to see it and everything else should turn out alright.
Holy cripes, no wonder I never win anything. With people doing crap like that the honest person stands no chance! May one million camel fleas infest the armpits of each person that cheats on contests!
I'm not too worried about these guys. First of all using a subdomain with a comon domain as denominator might attract more attention than anything else.
His idea of script is one that any mid IQ sneak who owns a domain name would've thought of (provided he/she has some script writing ability).
Now the programmers at Blizzard could therefor come up with this idea on their own. I would like to think that before they sent out emails, they sat down and thought of ways to try to attain more than one account. If they did, I'm pretty sure it didn't take too long for this idea to surface up.
Finaly, I looked through the pictures of the posts. No where is it explained how he was able to generate 20000 street addresses. if you remember, Blizzard said "Only one entry per household".
of course... that's not even considering the fact that they've been unmasked by eschient.
Good job by the way.
Nah ... I didn't win only because I am predistined to never win anything. I was the kid who got the rogue box of cereal with no toy inside when they were all shipped saying "Toy inside!"
I got three return e-mails from Blizzard when I sent my e-mail out talking about the exploit that SoL did with all those BETA keys.

If you have any further questions or problems, please feel free to contact us at wowtech@blizzard.com.
The thing that worries me about it is that someone actually has to notice it and I have very little faith that there was anyone behind the mail servers looking at what was coming in. Oh well, here's hoping for open beta to come along.

NOTHING!!! wow....how can this be, I hate this AHHHHHHHHH!!!! looks like I have to wait till Open Beta, even if they have another phase I probley wont get picked because Blizzard hates me!! Uhhh I thought by now I would have had a closed beta account
Great...so there is no chance for any of us. There are probably a handful of people who wrote a script to send 20,000 applications with a different from email address that gets to one email address.
I will keep checking my email just because Im pathetic that way, but I should know better.

As you know, Blizzard is conducting a new phase of the World of Warcraft closed beta test. As a part of this phase, over 10,000 new beta account authentication keys were emailed to prospective testers.
Unfortunately, an error was made during the issuing of these keys and a number of current beta testers accidentally received a second authentication key.
Although it was never our intention to send additional keys to current testers, we feel it would be counterproductive to disable these keys when the opportunity presents itself to widen the beta test pool. Thus, we encourage you to distribute this second key to a friend. Please do not create a second account with your new key as this would be in violation of the Terms of Use agreement.
This email authorizes you to deliver the second authentication key, along with the original email instructions, to a friend whom you believe would make a valuable addition to the closed beta test. This person can then create an account to play World of Warcraft by visiting www.worldofwarcraft.com.
After creating a World of Warcraft account, your friend will need to contact Billing and Account Services at Billing@blizzard.com to change the email address associated with this second key. If your friend does not change the email address, then any future emails related to that account, including technical support information and instructions on downloading subsequent patches, will go to the original email attached to the second authentication key and not to your friend.
For quick access to each individual tester, and to comply with the Beta Test Terms of Use agreement, please ensure that whomever you give the second authentication key to immediately associates their email address to the second key.
Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see both you and your friend in the World of Warcraft soon. javascript:insertemote(''); Screwy
