Only a small percentage of these were successful and we found out that this is because most of them contain incomplete or incorrect account information. - Tasos

That's right pre-orders. This is your fault. You forgot how to spell your name, hell you probably forgot your name altogether. This doesn't even scratch the surface of you that

1) Forgot your address or how to spell your street name correctly,

2) Failed to get your zip codes correct, or

3) for the love of get your credit card numbers in correct order.

This has nothing to do with our incompetence, or poor choice in choosing/testing a billing provider.

I just logged in and just like I thought my info was already correct.

What's with this guy lying to our faces and calling us stupid when they're the ones who don't know what they're doing?

  • SortranSortran Member Posts: 148

Yikes, Id bet less then 2% of the preorder people put in incorrect info, and most likely a number on their CC's (more common form of messup for sure, I know ive done that a time or 2.)

    Playing: Not much actively.
Games played: to many to list, been playing MMO's since 2001

let's not forget that billing/support infrastructure was the reason they delayed the Jan release. aren't you glad they took that extra month to get this stuff in order?

  • EvasiaEvasia Member Posts: 2,827

Maybe some have on purpose put in false info and now its one big mess hahaha.

    Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.

  • ZtyXZtyX Member UncommonPosts: 368

    Agreed with OP.

This is not my fault. I put everything correctly in and I never had any billing problems with other games I bought online.

If my credit card institution declined their attempt to bill me then AVENTURINE is billing incorrectly!!!!!

It sucks how Tasos is trying to make this MY fault and MY BANK'S FAULT!

Tasos. Dont push away the responsibility.

I just wish I knew what he hoped to gain by blaming the customers. I mean, I know we have had our fun insulting them from time to time, but honestly, they don't seem like a bunch or morons to me. They have been waiting for the game long enough that you would think they would understand the "* - Required Field" message. I just don't get it...

Their .txt file was corrupted because someone did a keyboard smash into it.

Or better.. someone pressed space and everything was moved one letter to the right, which made it completely unreadable and unprocessable!

Wow. Of all the excuses he could've come up with, that really is something.

...and to believe that I got flamed last time I said that Adventurine promoted bad buisness ethics...

Most gamers are pretty attune to online purchases. We put the information in all the time, and rarely does this create a problem. Plus, any respectable website would catch information errors immediately. This isn't supposed to be like voting in Miami-Dade county.

What's frustrating is I don't know what to change. I went in and edited my info but it's the same as I had the first time.

    Nice edit.

The difference between 'most' of them, and the rest of them is insignificant. You are splitting hairs for no reason.

Those fun folks over at Aventurine and especially Tasos never seem to fail to amaze me with their ineptitude of handling customer matters.  Setting a new standard for poor customer service.

did you ever notice he doesn't state a reason why the info is incomplete or incorrect?

and just because he doesn't state a reason you assume (even tho its the most ridiculous conclusion) that he's blaming customers?  look up "occam's razor".

its widely known that the whole pre-order mess had a whole slew of glitches in it.  even he publicly acknowledge that.

yet you HONESTLY think he is basically saying "our order system is perfect, therefore all this incomplete and incorrect data is our CUSTOMER's fault"?

    wow this is either really

stooping to a new low of trolling,

or stooping to new low of stupidity.

This is JUST speculation, but I noticed during my many attempts to create an account 2 days ago that that registration form on the account page is very far from foolproof. There were many times when it said 'Please Enter a state' even though I picked one from the list, many times they said 'Your credit card must be all numbers' once the numbers got converted into asterisks, and so forth. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what caused all these problems. Just a thought.

I' sure out of the 16 Darkfall fans there are a couple of adults who were able to enter their information correctly. The rest should have had their parents do it for them, If Tasos is in fact not in ANOTHER lie..Which given his track record is highly doubtfull.

I amazes me how you interpret the statement. I think I have gone a long way to defending both the player base, and the doubters in this thread. I haven't insulted anyone, I simply took the statement at face value. So, go ahead and continue to think what you like. That is what this thread is all about.

Also, I love how you stooped. It had to happen somewhere on this thread? Might as well be from someone as mature as an 03.

amazing that there has been 18 posts before ours and nobody else sees this as the obvious reason for the  incomplete/incorrect data.

since i'm fairly confident the flamboys aren't quite THAT stupid, this thread is just proof that most of them (at least the ones on this thread) have no sense of ethics or honesty in their argumentation.

just obsessively  trying to "win the internetz", using any and all possible (and IMpossible as this thread demonstrates) "ammo" at their disposal.

I don't believe its a good business practice to blame the consumer when the error seems to be by them.  We may have to put this in the category of "Failed Launch", unfortunately.  I was so rooting for this small Indy company, but , alas, I think they might have bitten off a bit more than they can chew.
