amazing that there has been 18 posts before ours and nobody else sees this as the obvious reason for the  incomplete/incorrect data.

since i'm fairly confident the flamboys aren't quite THAT stupid, this thread is just proof that most of them (at least the ones on this thread) have no sense of ethics or honesty in their argumentation.

just obsessively  trying to "win the internetz", using any and all possible (and IMpossible as this thread demonstrates) "ammo" at their disposal.

Actually, quite the opposite. This thread was created on a statement made directly by tasos. It was even tongue in cheek at that. You are the one trying to win what is a completely humorous thread. You are making quite the spectacle of yourself, so please, for the fun of it all, continue.

This is a load of BS.  Period.  They f'd up and are trying to let us believe that it's somehow OUR fault.

They tried the "carholder refused the charge, fix your information" crap with me.... .too bad 5 seconds glancing at my account would have showed the idiot that hit "send" on my canned support message that my credit card information was just fine when they charged me for the pre-orders and it only took a quick call to the bank to find out that they never even ATTMEPTED to charge my card for the full amount.

Do we have the actual link where Tasos says this?

Odd that no one is questioning the quote - Tasos has developed such a poor reputation  that people expect him to say something like that.

But I'd still like to see the original source of the quote.

Agree.   Online gamers know how to fill out online forms.   Suggesting the fault is the customer's is ridiculous (if the quote is accurate)

That's right pre-orders. This is your fault. You forgot how to spell your name, hell you probably forgot your name altogether. This doesn't even scratch the surface of you that

    1) Forgot your address or how to spell your street name correctly,

    2) Failed to get your zip codes correct, or

    3) for the love of get your credit card numbers in correct order.

This has nothing to do with our incompetence, or poor choice in choosing/testing a billing provider.

I love this guy like a brother.

did you ever notice he doesn't state a reason why the info is incomplete or incorrect?

and just because he doesn't state a reason you assume (even tho its the most ridiculous conclusion) that he's blaming customers?  look up "occam's razor".

its widely known that the whole pre-order mess had a whole slew of glitches in it.  even he publicly acknowledge that.

yet you HONESTLY think he is basically saying "our order system is perfect, therefore all this incomplete and incorrect data is our CUSTOMER's fault"?

    wow this is either really

stooping to a new low of trolling,

or stooping to new low of stupidity.

I amazes me how you interpret the statement. I think I have gone a long way to defending both the player base, and the doubters in this thread. I haven't insulted anyone, I simply took the statement at face value. So, go ahead and continue to think what you like. That is what this thread is all about.

Also, I love how you stooped. It had to happen somewhere on this thread? Might as well be from someone as mature as an 03.

seeing as how i didn't offer any interpretation of the statement up to this point (when you made the post i am replying to), i'd love to hear your interpretation of my supposed interpretation.  i'm sure it will be as intelligent as your original interpretation.

also, please explain to me how i have stooped?  it's stooping to try to redirect people into thinking of a much more plausible, simple, non-tin-foil-hat-wearing and rational interpretation?

I am sorry if I don't care to give your interpretation a second glance when it was started and followed with the typical rhetoric this game seems to swell in people like you. You might be right about one thing. Maybe you are not stooping to a lower level! You might just be standing up straight, flat footed on that level with no ability to jump higher. In any case. Keep yackin'!

    Update 5.49pm GMT

After addressing a couple of early issues the servers have been running very stable for several hours and we have a large number of players in-game right now.

It’s normal to expect more issues to surface in the next couple of days. We postponed our scheduled maintenance of 10am GMT for later until we can gather some more data and address anything that comes up in a patch later tonight.

We’re aware that some areas are experiencing sync issues for some players. This is a high priority issue that we are working to address as soon as possible. We know the cause for it so it shouldn’t take very long. We will keep the servers up while this is being fixed and we will bring them down for a patch later tonight. For now, players can move away from starting areas to improve their experience.

We have processed the problematic accounts that were never charged but received a successful pre-order notification. Only a small percentage of these were successful and we found out that this is because most of them contain incomplete or incorrect account information. We will try this one last time again tomorrow morning European time, and we’ll open up account management later tonight for these accounts to be able to correct their account data and credit information before we reprocess them. If anyone does not want the pre-order to be processed, they should remove their credit card information from their account. After this is concluded we should be able to open up sales for more Darkfall copies.

That’s all for now, we’ll keep you updated with anything new that comes up.

    The Darkfall Team

this is bullshit, I called My CC company and nobody has attempted to take any amount out.

When I rechecked my information my computer saves my info and it is exactly what my card says.  I make online purchses several times a week never any problem.

Well I logged on the account page to check my info, its all correct, I looked through all of it, its 100% correct. At this point I dont really care if I get in or not. Probably worth it just to sell the account on ebay. Their servers that support 10,000 concurrent users went ape shit at under 2k.

Thank you, just wanted to check.

And the quote can only be interpreted as an ridiculous attempt to push blame back onto the customer.     If that is not what they intended then they should have said something different (or had someone else other than Tasos do the talking)

How about it could be the users fault, due to spaming the preorder page and getting mutiple charges on your CC.   I am not saying they are totaly inocent but I am sure it is some of the peoples fault

That comes directly from AV. So AV is saying that the reason they do not work is because the information is wrong. Right? So who entered the information? The customer/player/consumer.

What else is their to interpret?

Stuff happened, the launch/billing sucked, so either AV or the player is to blame and according to AV its the player. There is no word twisting at all except by tasos himself in an attempt to blame the players for AV screw-ups/

oh surprise.   one of the more ardent flamboys agrees to whatever outlandish twist can further his cause.

so the customer was the only factor in the equation eh?

oh wait.  on the next line you admit that the billing system sucked.  could that possibly have anything to do with it?   gee i wonder!

its a simple statement telling you the cause of the problem.  the billing system is fucked up.  did he anywhere in that statement try to get out of the fact that it is THEIR billing system therefore they are responsible for it?
