As of right now, there's a speed hack, teleport hack and a physics manipulator and it's only going to get worse ~Ripper
On the whole , the speedhack, teleport style ones arent going to hurt too much.
Why? Because using them in a fight will guarantee someone getting reported and their account flagged for a closer watch.
Its when the aimbots hit that the game ceases to exist as a competetive PvP environment, because at that point, you have to hack to compete , and they arent so easy to spot.
Funny thing is that there is no "warden" system in DF (you can run a SPY++ on your .exes and see for yourself, don't take my word for it) that monitors the health of the client.
They are going to have to engineer that from scratch and deploy it. And then keep it updated and managed properly.
If the hacks get out bigtime, this means epic fail... we will see.
I loathe cheating and botting in any game, but if a game I was playing were to be infected with zombies cheaters - I suppose I'd have to start deploying underhanded methods too just to stand a chance. Adventurine will in all probability have to combat this - sooner rather than later. Braaains.

I hate hackers/botters/cheaters. The company is having a hard enough time just letting people play and now the community the has anticipated this game for so long seeks to destroy it before I can even get a chance to play. Did the devs really think that the players were not going to cheat? I guess AV's Advanced AI Bots lacked the human instinct to exploit anything and everything for personal gain. Many players like myself are still deciding on buying the game and everyday I log into Forumfall and mmorpg.com I find out something worse has happened. Have you guys seen the most resent update by Tasos himself. He stated they are bringing the game down for ETA an hour without overing even a remedial explanation.
I hope that means
a)he's uber busy fixing these issues(Doubt it)
b)He's given up and filling out applications at Mcdonald's or whatever other fastfood places they have in Greece

Oh, I don't doubt it. Still, it's valuable information for people to have, so telling them how to see the evidence of a speedhack at work for themselves while still following the Rules of Conduct here is key.
Hacks like this destroy a game faster than anything else, especially if the devs don't stamp them out or otherwise put an end to that kind of cheating. I don't know how much success AV will have, though, since much of this game is apparently client side.

I'd say that is pretty damning evidence... Not sure how they could fake that and without the rubberbanding there is no way that is a sync issue.
