Some one please explain how the small staff they have is going to contain the cheaters and exploiters?
True, they have a much smaller playerbase to monitor, but still, with so much of the code being client based how are they going to prevent it? Experts are saying this game is a hackers dream. Sure they will catch some, but the smart ones will limit the use of the exploits.
I feel sorry for anyone who legitimately puts time into this game because you are going to be taken advantage of by those that don't.
I think its posturing. They don't have the will or wherewithall to stop cheaters. Besides its half the population do they really have the balls to band half of there users?
Half the population doers not cheat. I wouldn't even say 1/50 of the population cheats. Macroing? Yes, I'm sure a lot more people macro or "spam" spells than 1/50.
But considering I have yet to see one "hacker", I doubt it's as rampant as you claim. Surprised as you may be, most of the Darkfall community wants to play fairly, especially when it comes to PvP.
Fairly can be interpreted in many ways. To me fairly could be with the aid of macros or hacks. Its a matter of points of view. If everyone wanted to be "fair" drugs would not exist, cigarrettes either or guns, bots, hacks, cheats or macros.
Besides if they wanted this game to succeed they could have done a real test with players, dropped the stupid pre-order scam, fixed and banned hackers and macro users, etc. This game looked awesome when it was only words in the Darkfall Features section.
