alpha stage my ass. darkfall was more stable in beta than warhammer was 2 months after release. i was there for both. shall i post you some of warhammer's post-release crash-to-desktop threads with 5K+ posts?

as usual, the most vocal detractors have never even played it.
Well that's great it was so stable in a very low-populated Beta state.
Unfortunately for DarkFall it is now in a Released state... kind of... as it is currently unavailable.
So how does the post-Release DarkFall stability stack up? Hmm... not such a good match-up now.
How many consecutive days has DarkFall's one and ONLY server been up since Release?
How many hours/days were lost due to "downtime"?
How many hours/days were lost due to queueing?
With the vast majority of all other MMOs... when your prefered server was down; you could still get into the game and play by simply making another character on a different server. That is not the case with DarkFall. If the server is down... you don't play. Period.
If you want to do comparisons... compare the post-launch DarkFall server stability and up-time with other MMOs post-launch server stability.
For most objective observers... DarkFall's one and ONLY server is BELOW par in regards to server stability, and availability post-launch.

I don't see the rants as a problem. I see people that become upset at someones option to rant a problem. Forums are full of rants and raves with the majority of both being opinions.

I really don't understand why anyone cares if you like or dislike the game. All that matters is your own personal opinion. If you like it then cool play it and be happy if you don't then well don't.
Good for what it is, it's greatest strength is that it has potential. Clearly not release ready so you have to be willing to pay for a beta product. Key features are missing and/or not functioning as intended. Of course there is server instability, it's a new launch... the only MMOs that launched smoothly in that respect were AoC and WAR and they were smooth because they over estimated demand and had to shut down servers shortly after launch.
Absolutely not a WoW killer. People happy in WoW will HATE Darkfall just as people happy in Darkfall generally hate WoW. If you didn't like the core idea of Shadowbane you won't like Darkfall. The bread and butter is clan vs clan politics and open PvP. The bread and butter of WoW is chasing the next carrot and I guess battle grounds if doing the same thing over and over and over for no reason interests you.
Darkall is either going to make it or flop in the next year. Unless things improve significantly it will flop, on the other hand if they do improve it has the potential to be an excellent game. Whether it goes the direction of a more mainstream EVE or Shadowbane remains to be seen. The game has improved during the last few months of beta and month or so of release, but there's a ton left to do including fundamentally changing several core mechanics. Mounted combat, sieging system, crafting, magic, naked zerging - they all need tweaks or complete rewrites.

Anyways, I've never been a fan of citing those polls. Citing the polls from beta was alright, since everyone polled had played the game. But on the official DF boards, everyone who hasn't even played yet can vote. If they are bored out of their minds just WAITING for the game, I can see them voting bored of playing it just for the hell of it. If people see a poll, it's likely that they are going to vote.

But this one isn't because the game is already released, whereas the pre-launch Poll was based strictly off of the features list? Unless all those people were really in Beta. Hah. I hope they make the forums accesible for paying customers only, too many people have an itch with this game, and will readily make hundreds of aliases to hate on it (happened on mmorpg forums so many times everyone knows it)

No poll is legit unless it is under a strictly controlled environment. Although I have to agree that the poll conducted through the closed beta forums would be much more accurate, it was still not required that each person registered had to vote.
