What I like about this game, you never know whats gonna come next:
you may find a freaking unattended mount in the middle of the forest with no one around (freaking lucky, lol, they are only crafted so I imagine owner died somewhere) or someone kills and loots you
or you get attacked by a damn sea monster you never knew existed, that's just LOL
I had heard something about this being related to collision detection and that if the players sit down they wont fall off. True or Not?

This is one of those things that add to the value and enjoyability of the game. You never see anything like this in any other MMOs, except maybe UO. And, the way it followed them on their raft, it seemed realistic in a way. I bet they got a small adrenaline rush out of that.

wow. I can't wait to get a raft. I hear they sell for 2k on the market. There's alot going on out in the oceans i hear. The most fun thing about Darkfall is its total unpredictability of what happens next. Last night A couple of us were farming outside of Moonclaw and all of a sudden there was a full on attack by the humans. It was total chaos for a while there, and I almost got picked off by a man on a horse. Thanks goodness my guild mates saved me. One second everything is cool and your doing your own thing the next it's to arms on a mass scale. It just makes form some fun times.
PS. Thank you Tombear81 for trolling this thread. I just wouldn't be the same without you.

No seriously... its like all those rare spawn in EQ and EQ2 and every other MMO never existed. Are we going to do historcial revisionism now on all old MMOs because DF is lacking any innovative features and actually contains a very standard set of features present in quite a few mmos (bar full loot and "free aim").
This just is... so funny and painful. Please dont tell me you deny the existence of rare spawns in other games ?!?!?!?

Well to answer you troll question.. is a raft ..parts of you can see .. 00:01 - 00:06 , 00:15 - 00:17.
Shortly after that you can see sync issues as someone flies of the raft and is then rubberbanded back. Jeeesus for a PvP free aim game they need to sort there shit out. I'd never play battlefield on a laggy server like that.

I think this thread has actually convinced me to try this game... I hear very interesting things about it, but a sea serpent encounter is just a really great idea. The game sounds adventurous and exciting.... and I've always wanted to be able to actually sail a boat in monster infested waters...

no. but if im supposed to be on a raft with others i should be able to see the raft under their feet, right?
The raft is not that big, and the guy in the video was clearly standing on the edge looking out into the ocean. It would be the same thing on a boat in real life. There are portions where you see parts in the video as an above poster mentioned.

Oooh... the server "puts" "monsters" in the sea .. and in DF its called something else like "Sea Monster".. but its not in anyways like other games "rarer spawns" or "rare spawns" but is .... gosh Betty.. its amazing. Sign me up !
Oh gods... I will leave the silent audience on here to make judgement on that. Though the oxygen must be in short supply up there.

Once again, you watched a youtube video and came to an amazing deduction that the creature must of been a rare spawn. All it was, was a fan made video showing other players in Darkfall what he and his friend discovered on a random adventure. Noone made any claim that is was a great inovation in the world of MMO's. I am glad you came to the conclusion that it wasn't and shared it with us. Your information and data is always useful and welcoming to people ACTUALLY playing the game and not just watching video's and trolling message boards.

there are parts in the video where you can see other players but nothing underneath their feet. My statement was not an attempt to troll i don't do that. it was just my observation of the video. Im glad you guys are all up in arms over your game though i like to see that
As much as I hate WoW it did have sea monsters. Thought everyone found nessie.

You so far up your own ass you wont use common MMO terminology as this puts DF in with the muck. It a fucking monster that SPAWNS.. Seriously your getting very, very silly now. But please can you condense this into a small easy to read sentence about how DF doesn't have spawns, I need a teh lul signiture.
Anyways...
Once again I tell you DF flaws are obvious without playing the game. It was obvious way before when Tasos finally "came clean" about the lack of trading and movement of goods in a FFA PVP games. This is one of the many contradictory and insane things around this game and this was a good few weeks before launch. The damn videos just show how raw and rushed... (ironic I know) this game release was.
There is NO WAY I am giving 45 odd Euros to these rank amatuers who have still not yet even updated there website to reflect the TRUE content of the game when its painfully obvious exactly.
So come one fanboys.. its a frickin SPAWN. its spawns X amount of time within a set period in the sea. This is not new and is the in just about every MMO for gods knows how long. Just because DF lacks in other area doesn't mean you can go take fundamental gameplay elements and talk about them like there the second coming ! .. Besides we got Lord Taco Bell to do that...
Next week.. oooh look at the trees .. other MMOS dont have trees.
