Since when does a fin in the water + a poorly designed character model floating on top of water like Jesus constitute an encounter?

Once again, you watched a youtube video and came to an amazing deduction that the creature must of been a rare spawn. All it was, was a fan made video showing other players in Darkfall what he and his friend discovered on a random adventure. Noone made any claim that is was a great inovation in the world of MMO's. I am glad you came to the conclusion that it wasn't and shared it with us. Your information and data is always useful and welcoming to people ACTUALLY playing the game and not just watching video's and trolling message boards.

Do you fanbots even READ each others posts !?!??!

    You said :

" Thankyou for the useful information though. In Darkfall we don't call those rare spawns, we call them "Sea Monster's""

You so far up your own ass you wont use common MMO terminology as this puts DF in with the muck.  It a fucking monster that SPAWNS.. Seriously your getting very, very silly now. But please can you condense this into a small easy to read sentence about how DF doesn't have spawns, I need a teh lul signiture.

    Anyways...

Once again I tell you DF flaws are obvious without playing the game. It was obvious way before when Tasos finally "came clean" about the lack of trading and movement of goods in a FFA PVP games. This is one of the many contradictory and insane things around this game and this was a good few weeks before launch. The damn videos just show how raw and rushed... (ironic I know) this game release was.

There is NO WAY I am giving 45 odd Euros to these rank amatuers who have still not yet even updated there website to reflect the TRUE content of the game when its painfully obvious exactly.

So come one fanboys.. its a frickin SPAWN. its spawns X amount of time within a set period in the sea. This is not new and is the in just about every MMO for gods knows how long. Just because DF lacks in other area doesn't mean you can go take fundamental gameplay elements and talk about them like there the second coming ! .. Besides we got Lord Taco Bell to do that...

Next week.. oooh look at the trees .. other MMOS dont have trees.

you seem awfully interested in a game that you hate and swear you will never play. You trash the game on message boards, going to the game's main website, surfing there boards. Isn't there more to life? I know If I don't like something I simply turn away and focus on more positive things. I think we all know you how you feel.  It was just a harmless Youtube video. It won't bite.

Nice side step from the points provided.... heres some smoke and mirrors for your next move.

Yes I am pissed with DF. No I wont be here forever. But right now I think the big void filled by DF utter failture and Tasos (tm) lies can be filled with...  yes bashing the game a little bit and it feels fun. The game deserves it too. And yes I do read the official boards.. they always been better than the game. The irony is these boards are much better than the offical ones because AV cannot even mod there own forums consistently or indeed ... at all . Oops ?

Bad games need bashing... games with stupidly long feature lists.. outright lies and poor customer support. Well they need roasting on a fire. When something worthwhile comes out I might just give it some praise. I tell you unless a miracle happens to it wont be DF. Right now its more fun to be on  here with a bullshit meter rise from fanboys ... face DF is pure popcorn. Its has every drama ever from a MMO launch rolled into one.

I want the NDA days back where Lord Tasos iron hand conceled all and there was hope for this game !

Cool videos! Anxious to find out what else is at sea.

I'm quite sure the person referring to UO was referring to sailing around and finding encounters at sea. That is a feature of UO and it is rare to find other MMOs that actually allow sailing (when it isn't the focus of the game) let alone have things to do at sea.

But back to "Bad games need bashing..."

If you went to a book store and you found someone that made a point to go there regularly to stand around and 'warn' everyone about a certain book, wouldn't you think they had a few unresolved issues?

If you were on the line for a movie and the guy behind you said that one of the movies was great, and then some other guy runs over, laughed at him and said "OMG this is funny and painful to watch! You actually believe that was good? Geez... loooow standards, anyone?" wouldn't you think the guy was a bit of an ass? Now, here's the kicker...

What if you were on the line at that theatre a week later and you saw the same guy still doing the same thing?

I mean, really, tombear... when you actually reach the point of making statements like "Bad games need bashing..." you've reached the point of 'crusade.'

This movie, you have a mob picketing out front and only a few of them have actually seen the movie.

The rest picket the movie because they hate the director, the blockbuster, big-budget movie that they personally liked and bought tickets for that was hyped up all summer stunk, and that's about it.

They don't plan on actually buying a ticket and seeing the movie. If they ever did buy a ticket, it would be just to throw milk duds and ju-ju beans from the mezzanine onto the lower seats to people who are enjoying it or others coming into the theatre.

    That's called a first-person view.

When you walk around irl, do you think you are flying because you aren't looking at your feet?

What sort of boats do you ride IRL that you can't see?

This thread's got some serious knob-slobbing in it though.  Encountering a rare(?) monster in the ocean but acting like it's something new or not seen since UO.  Christ rabid fanboys might be worse than rabid haters.  Neat that you guys fought something rare but you should drop the omg this is a unique darkfall awesome thing', especially since you're referring to a PvE encounter in a game that people tout as some ultra hardcore pvp mmo (even though it's not).

OMG! How on earth did they ever pull that off? A mob in a game? Darkfall is full of wonders!

When they follow DnL and go bankrupt with their small hardcore obsequious sycophantic delusional  failboi fanbase as the only remaining players.

Man these trolls are funny.  Not one person has said that this is revolutionary and the most amazing thing of all time.

People have noted that it is a fantastic EXPERIENCE.  It backups the mantra that this game is an immersive world, not a trivialized game with signs pointing to mobs.  Seriously, this game isn't a meta-game were there are "mobs" and "levels", like a zoo (aka Theme Park).  It is an experience-based game.  There's no way to tell if you'll run into a sea serpent without actually running into one, whereas in most other games, it is pretty clear where every mob in the entire game is.

People have noted that this kind of stuff (the sea monster) looks really cool.  Also, not everyone has played UO, so there's no need to act like people are idiots for not playing it.

The only "rabid" people in here are the trolls who are obviously butthurt.  If you don't like this game so much, go back to WoW.  And stop acting like a small glitch equates to failure, because I can name many small glitches in any MMO ever released.  For the most part, people are reporting that large scale battles are going pretty smooth, unlike many other MMOs.  Server related bugs (especially when the game first releases) really have no weight in the discussion of whether a game is good, because then all MMOs would be "failures".

It's funny how 99% of the people who have played Darkfall like it, and 99% of the people who haven't played and post here hate it.

Check your numbers. Spewing nonsense as if being the spokesperson of the human race only makes you look bad.

Commenting on the video... well, quite substandard. Ugly textures, rubberbanding galore and a PvE mob. Nothing special, like most of what I've seen from Darkfall.

    "and a PvE mob"!

You didnt get the video right? There must be hundreds of people sailing around in DF now. And this is the first time we hears about a sea serpent. We dont see that in WoW do we? Right, we cant even sail in WoW or explore. So when we have ships with multipersonal crew on it. Then we can begin to complain.

  • StrixMaximaStrixMaxima Member UncommonPosts: 865

    OK, I'll give you that.

Substitute "PvE Mob" in my post above for "rare PvE Mob" or "Newly activated PvE Mob". Take your pick.

This is for the guy who said he could not see the raft.   Last night I was lucky enough to not only see a raft, but take a ride on one.   This picture will give you an idea of how small they really are, we had 5 of us on this thing and as Mahirim (largest race) it was pretty crowded.

You can explore the sea in WoW. Only fun thing I liked in that game. And the ocean floor was pretty cool. Also had sea monsters even a cammo from nessie. All it lacked was sailing. But then again that wasnt blizzards design goal. But if it was it woulda been alot better than DF.

But speaking of sailing its the number 5 reason I cant stand blizzard, past warcrafts had boats(blizzard was a good dev team then) and W3 was dumber than Warcraft 1.   Blizzard use to be my fav devs but Diablo 2 and W3 killed them in my eyes.

But seriously sea monsters are pve content. Just cause its not on land doesnt make it some special thing.  Only thing special about the vid was the raft (Didnt VG have boats) but was overshadowed by the silly rubberbanding.

The fact the boat was small was not was was being commented on. It was the player was floating above the sea because synch issues left him behind, then he kind of teleported back to the raft. The fact you can build a raft and explore the sea is pretty cool, but hardly new. And sea monsters are definitely not new. None of the "haters" would have even bothered  pointing out the fact it was not new if the fanbots didn't claim that it was something brand new to MMOs. Don't try to say no one said it. It was stated by two different people in the first 5 posts or so. Just like the guy in another thread that said no MMO ever before let you kill people at really long range with a bow.  It is stupid comments by MMO noobs like that that we are disputing.

That actually looks pretty cool. It really looks like something some wolf people or land based tribes would make (not being sailors). Kind of like how an orc would have a wooden shield with nails and junk in it as opposed to a shiny, titanium alloy shield.

Nice pic.. even the little boarding ramp is funny, lol.

    seriously?

That you don't understand the difference between an exchange of opinions and someone, by their own admission, just here to bash the game is disenchanting. It is even more disheartening that you feel that being 'an incredibly annoying twit' is an acceptable form of behavior in a forum, as if tact and respect should both go out the window once you double-click your browser icon.
