I knew you guys couldn't do it.

Instead of being happy that two sandbox games will be on the market you guys pull this DF vs MO hater shit.

I personally Want all sandbox games to have a niche playerbase and make enough cash to keep content flowing.

Eve, Ryzom, DF, MO, ER, FE are all great for the genre. They give us something other then then normal Classes, leveling. Raid way mmos usually are.

    Playing: EvE, Ryzom

It seems some people mistake sandbox for litterbox.

There wasnt anything roaming the few animals in a scene looked very static..and there was two encounter as mobs at best ..world was barren..i ll give you mounted combat ..but magic ? at best 1 spell looked like particle effects could have been dirt lol

because i will not upset you (cause we fighted trolling all the last time together) ..It is sarcasm...till to the point i honest not see why these video should convince me to MO..i see many similarties ..some things looked like more intresting  then DF (melle combat) but then again..most not ..or not are to seen in these vid ..

    And back on track..

Where is the UI ? does anyoine has seen any UI ? i guess is a mod from some engine some guys in the basement put together..

    looks like vapor

I actually enjoy your posts and I don't really want to attack you but:

Darkfall doesn't have any of what you are complaining about MO about.

Darkfall has been released for a month.

MO doesn't have any of what you are complaining about.

    MO just started beta.

With the exception of the video link, what you described in your post is DF as it is right now.

But all what i described is in that clip ..that was official presented .. .

No UI ?  Nop interaction with an NPC..barely a mob..i believe 1 mob .. World was devoid of any movement..no clouds moving no leafs ..nothing ..

No Magic ..i didnt even noticed a bow (will check again..checked and no ranged) ..no mounted combat (just riding around) ..biggest fight was 4 -5 dudes stood there lowl

Dude shut the **** up already, there was magic and there was some roaming animals, and monsters, and mounted combat.

So it wasn't sarcasm afterall he? :p

You could have been right based on the first post, but remember that it was Darth who posted it.

Unfortunately, any game that promotes itself mainly as FPS with PvP full loot, is bound to have the asshat uber-pvp community stick on it and devour it. Happened with Darkfall, will happen with Mortal.

Also MO fanboys, what DarthRaiden posted was sarcasm, attributed to the BS that was spewed whenever a DF video came up someone would bitch about some minor thing or another

Quite opposite than MO's video where there are also plenty of things to bicker over.

What I would like from MO devs now would be the exact features that will be implemented on release, on their main website (since I havent found anything solid)

Which they've said they are not going to publish until later/closer to launch because they don't want to be like other *ahem* companies and promise features that may end up not making it in. Additionally it keeps them from half-assing some features just to get it in because of the flak they'll get if they don't. Makes perfect sense to anyone capable of rational thought.

Now your rationalization right there makes you sound exactly like a Darkfall fan.  If we are to believe that this game is due out this year, and moving into beta, then there's no reason for them to not reveal some of the games core functionality at this time.  Not having confidence to deliver anything is a poor excuse.

If people step back a bit, there are far more similarities between how the two games are being developed than differences.

Let's hope MO doesn't suffer some of the same shortcomings.

TO DR: i hope they payed you enough. Looks like DnL's forums now Same way same people.

Maybe MO will be the next AOC (I don't care : I won't pay a ct without a trial, or an open beta but for the moment MO's community seems mature and the project serious, 2 good signs.)

But i'm sure DFO is already the new DnL. Same level of professionalism, same community, same launch. Everyone knows it's only a bad FPS, launched by amateurs, and played by kids. There' ll be a massive exodus because server is always down, there 's more than 3H or queuing, because of macroting and cheating. Because this game has nothing else to offer but hack and slash and FPS and FL.

I'm going to play UT3 looks better than this piece of crap/joke. I won't pay for this.

I am extremely against multiple characters on the same server.

The concept is known as character harvesting, where you build a main character and a series of alternate characters (AKA "Alts"). The alts do nothing except gather resources and craft for the main character or guid. Their method of transfer is an in-game mail system.

In my opinion, character harvesting ruins the game. All of a sudden, your southland jungle fighter is receiving magical white ice steel weapons from a northern mage whom he has never met. In this example, the southland fighter has never travelled to the north, never met a northern mage, never negotiated a deal with anyone for white ice steel, and otherwise done anything worth the benefit he is receiving.

The effect of character harvesting removes the need to adventure.

Obviously, character harvesting can be circumvented with multiple accounts. This, I feel, is acceptable because there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I think we should just enjoy the fact that there are games like Darkfall, Mortal Online, and others trying to break the mold. If the MMO community keeps fighting over these small issues, the larger issue (of new innovations) will be discarded and we'll be stuck with clones of WoW. I'm not disparaging WoW, but I feel we only need one World of Warcraft.

I think the ideal situtation would be where you have a choice between 10 WoW type games, 10 DF type game, 10 EvE type game, 10 GW type games.

Don't really see a reason why there should be only 1 in each category. Perhaps you just meant that there are enough already of that type and not enough yet of the others?

In other words, you're against having multiple characters on one account but multi-boxing is perfectly fine? So, just so we're clear on this, you're perfectly fine if a person is playing two or three characters at the same time and has an unfair advantage against others but if I was to craft some armor for my lowbie, you're against it?

Exactly what is the difference between having "Alts" to having "one" character without a "hard-cap" on skills in place? Besides the amount of time that the "one" character would require?

With no set cap on skills, the only thing holding you back from being self sufficient is time. Bah...

Some games have the mechanics to allow it, some don't. The person I quoted is against the notion of having multiple characters on one account because that would lead a person to be relatively self-sufficient. Yet, he was perfectly fine with the notion of allowing ownership of multiple accounts to do the same thing and more.

Heh. Exactly what I was meaning. My post wasn't really directed at you heartless, but at the subject.

With no caps in place, it's no different. Just a matter of time.

I believe it was mentioned earlier that a drawback to having alts was having to worry about one's reputation. Well, until there is a community that actually gives a hoot, you only have to deal with ones' self.  ;)

Did it occur to you that mo's devs might not be done with the game yet? And they they aren't going to release it in early beta stage like they did with df?
