Golden all i have to say is i think its really really nice of you that you come here and post and answer everyones questions/problems and give us insight on the game most companys would never do that , cause it seems like they just dont give a shit.

Thanks for the encouragement. It's 9 AM here right now and I just finished sending a 100 emails for CS and found out NONE WENT OUT due to an error. Good thing I have a lot of patience =(
Anyway, I love keeping in touch with the community so it's no biggie at all... I really want Maple to take a more human approach to the business. This may not be important in the console market but from my experience in online gaming it is key. Sure you get your share of unreasonable users... but what are you gonna do Besides, top managers, editors, gamers, and nice people, I am always happy to associate with... it's the people that fall through those cracks I want to avoid

My CEO thinks my methods are unorthodox but I think this is the best way to get the game started and show the community we actually care. Looking at the growth numbers I think it's working. I posted on a Swedish and Netherland forum two days ago and bam... 200 new users each today. It may not sound like a lot but I think it is a good start... a good start to exposntial growth. However, it's really difficult for me to do since I have to devise strategies, meet partners, etc. etc. It's even more difficult to do this when most of us running the global service cant speak English=) So if any of you know good forum sites over the world please post and help me out.

See i dont get that , im positive that just because you posted here a whole lot more people decided to try the game. Plus it shows that you really really care about your players. Hell i even decided to retry the game again and im now playing it , mainly because you take the time to post here.
The only bad i could see is that there might be a random person that comes along and bashes the game and personally attacks you for no reason but just to be a asshole , but then you just ignore them and they go away and theres only a few of those types of people.

I've got several people hooked on Maple already, and many more to come I'm sure, I just can't believe this game came out of nowhere and *BAM* I'm hooked right away, had never even heard of it before, but I have a feeling Maple will grow alot through word of mouth.

SOE makes decent games that appeal to nerds. Their customer service is run by jocks who bully nerds. Wonder why SOE sucks so bad...
Actually I am devising a policy on that. Most likely we will go with a suspension/ban policy. I dont have the resources now to do it but during the commercial phase they will be policed . I am even thinking a cool way to do it but I cant reveal that now. You'll just have to wait and see for that.
However, you can think of it this way... they may be leveling up now but you'll be laughing when we send their character back to Maple Island at say level 50 . Yes, my mama didnt hold me when I was a baby... haha. jk. But on a more serious note, it's hard to stop botters but i think once they know they are risking losing their accounts they will stop.
Hehe yay me, when I finally got the chance to play my GeForce went broked . Oh well I got the chance to play the game for a few at a friends house and I liked it, I think the side scrolling is really original. I just hope this game will run on my old video card, or my GeForce gets fixed soon :P
By the way, cool to see someone from the maple-team posting here! The Nexon label gave me a bad feeling but it seems like they finally got a game with a team that really cares about the players
Just to clarify... we are not Nexon That is a common misconception. Nexon is a great partner and distributor for us is Korea, Japan, China but we, Wizet, are the developers of MapleStory. The global service will be run by us.
There are a couple issues with the registration process that, IMO, may not work well for an American audience.
You can't create a character of a sex other than the one you selected during registration?
Why are we required to tell you what race we are?
I'm guessing #2 is a cultural thing, kinda like Asian girly mags telling you the girls' blood type along with her measurements.
There are a number of players that would like to be able to create characters of both sexes, so I would suggest making character sex selection part of the character creation process and not dependent on the registration.
Except for these issues the game is pretty good and an interesting concept.

This game is addicting as ell im loving it still kinda gives me a break from all the other MMORPG's which if people wanna admit it or not get really repetative after awhile every MMORP that come out basically the same as the old one before it and this one just sorta a vacation from them lol.
