I'm sure the devs'll have a hell of a time paying off the debts what with unemployment and all.

lol I wasn't aware the game went under, quickly someone alert the game that's still selling out every time the shop opens... game's done.

Then maybe you should stay current on the game.

Lets see, they were unable to provide a server to handle above 10,000 players (and that is with removing mobs to make room for players, lol!) so you take that as "sold out". Brilliant.

You spin any faster, you'll blush to death.

Oh wow, please don't talk about things you have no clue about, you tend to sound like a moron. There's well over 10k people playing concurrently right now, and more is about to be added to that number. It's a shame to see the same group of about 5 hardcore trolls are still around after launch. Go bug Mortal Online or something now, scurry to the next game like parasites.

Really? Where's the proof? You a dev or something? Because the devs said 10K. Next thing you know, Signus will be spouting that "Darkfall has over 50K concurrent players, more than EVE! Just you wait, all they need to do is sell more copies! Best game evar!"

By the way, why are you back here? First Darth, now daarco, and now you. We're seeing the fanbots trickle back slowly but surely.

To Die_Scream, 10K is actually fairly impressive. Yeah, they had to sacrifice mobs for players, which shows the limitations of today's technology. If they had a full, lush world, they probably would have less than 5K. The point is, the world is so big (apparently) that 10K doesn't mean shit unless you actually see other people around you constantly. I'd rather have a small, tight-knit world than a big, empty one.

Just me. We all know everyone shows up for the PvP battles, but I'm talking on a regular basis.

    1. There is excessive hacking - it's so prevalent that Tasos has mentioned it in several posts
    2. The fact that the company(companies) making the hacks makes them for other games is irrelevant.
    3. Hacks aren't macros.  Yes, there are a lot of macros.  Yes, there are plenty of hacks and hack customers, too.

this is confusing, i don't know if there is excessive hacking or not, because 90%+ people posting here have NOT played the game before, which probably includes the above poster (since he uses Tasos to conclude there is a lot of hacking rather than personal experience), anyone here who ACTUALLY played the game have an answer to this!?

All you have to do is read the Darkfall forums from their main site and threads about loot hacks and pvp hacks popup regularly. It seems AV didnt bother to put in any guards against 3rd party programs which will sink them faster than the existing bugs DF already has, lol. Of course, AV posted a notice on the site saying that posting of any exploits will get you insta-banned so its funny that they are trying to keep a tight lid on their huge problem.

I played beta (believe that or not). It was pretty trivial to macro (full bots will be no more difficult). It seemed clear to me that the core architecture of the game did not lend itself to being made secure. Even in beta there wher e early versions of hacks available that celarly worked.

But hey it supports 10k concurrent users ha ha ha ha ha.

Shouldn't you be over modding your own forums over at Forumfall ( you know, deleting post containing negative views of Darkfall ), instead of being here trying to put down people for supposedly bogus claims by making bogus claims of your own?

There are way less than 15k players in that game right now, I guarantee it. And 10k playing concurrently? You really are stretching the imagination thin with that one.

Ain't it funny that the new sale of accounts opened right as the first billing month starts? They are not getting more players, they are replacing those leaving. Why do you think Tasos removed the ability to see how many people were on the server at any one time?

    Edit:

Also very funny that you tell someone to "go bug  Mortal Online" and leave here, when you in fact have been trolling the Mortal Online section here yourself. So sorry you're worried about what you're going to do when Aventurine goes under that you have to troll other game forums while telling people to stay out of this one.

Community cannot be growing if you only have one server.  Remember the good old days when they bosted about having 50k -100k on one server (one big happy world). Yea right.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

    sad indeed

PvP always attracts cowardly people that will try to avoid any real challenge. If its not by coding (speedhacks, teleport etc), then its by ganging up against a lot weaker enemy (resurrect camping etc). FFA PvP MMO's just has more oppurtunities for those ppl to thrive in. You wont see those players compete in a more controlled environment like GvG in Guild Wars.

First, that poll was made before the game even launched and was answered by beta players. Secondly, it would be 80% of those who answered the poll at that time, not 80% of the players.

It's a matter of semantics - Signus isn't a forum mod (which he's stated several times here on these boards), he's an IRC mod.  He's party of the volunteer "community staff" for Darkfall.

As for the over 10k concurrent players, I question that.  Isn't the game designed to handle only 10k concurrent players?  Even in a huge world, there would be huge amounts of players in some concentrated areas, woudln't there?  I haven't seen anything indicating that's happening other than occasional sieges, which seem to be only a couple of hundred characters at a time.

By over 10k do you mean total or do you literally mean concurrently logged in to the game at a single point in time?

I feel the "commmunity moderators" are  tainted by AV thats all I am going to say. I have zero respect for there community "moderaters" as they remove intelligent and critical posts/chats and allow excessive racial and homophobic slurring. They are basically a big part of the anger against DF right now, second only to Lord Tasos. But this is AV and they cannot even manage to update there webpage so I digress...

Secondly, AV don't really know how many people can concurrently connect because the "bots" nonsense sputed by Tasos was .. well nonsense. We will never get a solid figure because AV and Tasos are covering up even now.

Thirdly, why does no one no (or even confirm) why the in game counter was removed ? Why was such a "not needed" feature within the game in the first place ? All it says is... we let more people in to ride our shit-mobile when half the player base leaves we get some more fake demand. And thats why I will be here for some time giving this game a the good old bashing it deserves. But we all know even if the next PVP MMO is shit then it will still pull even the ardent fans away from this POS.

Either way, its quite evident that Darkfall is susceptible to hacking which isn't good at all whether its widespread or not. Darkfall is not WoW and I'm sure all the fans would agree, which is why hacking is a lot more of a severe issue than it is for WoW.
Hacking in WoW doesn't matter, cause it doesn't necessarily affect 100% of your gameplay. In Darkfall, you have 1 server, which is a sandbox which has PvP, full looting and territorial conquest. Hacking in Darkfall is more than just a thorn in player's sides, cause hacking affects 100% of gameplay.
Anyhow, until games like Eve Online and Darkfall are completely hackfree, I won't touch em. Yes, I've played my fair share of Eve Online, but I'm done now. Sick of companies like CCP and Aventurine who purposely favor certain guilds and corps in-game with special rewards and goodies.
    Eve = BoB Alliance

Darkfall = Killcult / Lords of Death

    Look how retarded you are.

BOB lost all their space, all their assets in their core systems in Delve, got camped in their (former) stations, their asses kicked back to safe empire space and their entire alliance disbanded by a spy from Goonswarm, and still you say they are favoured by CCP and they cheat/hax/whatever...?

Omfg get some medication, quickly! Go! Go! Go!
