The game is doing so well in it's native playerbase, all they have to to do is translate the damn text and shipped the game wtf is so hard about that and also throw some servers up. I am getting really annoyed wiht waiting for this game that should have been out already. Mark my words the longer they take the less people there are gonna be that even want to try it and it will fail and we won't get to play this awesome game in english.

Yeah, you're wrong about that.
Thanks for being the internet grammar police and contributing nothing of importance!
the game must release and live up to some serious expectations.
I expect that the longer they take the more it will hurt them.
played:WoW and Eve off and on 5 years
Tried:CoH/V, PoTBS, War, TR, STO, FE
TOR is likely to rock
Grammar Police, how so? I did not correct anything you said. All I did was outline the importance of your sentence being wrong. How is your opinion contributing anything of importance? And yes what I underlined was your opinion. Do you seriously believe people want them to rush a product or will lose intrest just because of mild delays. Im sure you could find something else to do in your spair time. As far as contributing goes. Waiting creates anticipation, people may claim to say "screw it I dont want it anymore" but as soon as it hits store shelves people show up to purchase the game to forget everything they said before about not getting it. Plenty of games had pushbacks and the same people that said what you said showed up to play on release.
I would like to see the game as well... but they probably have a reason, the one that i have come across is that they have to adapt the game to different cultures, for example, text cant just be translated... it has to make sense to the target, etc.
we Will just have to wait and see when they will release it.
The good news is, being launched again will give them a chance to perfect the problems they may have encountered earlier on. And we will have less bugs and stuff!
Yea, I think your pretty much wrong. Age of conan was delayed quite a bit, and still had about 1 million players at launch.
Your theroy is flawed.
Well I was following this game pretty close until the q4 thing was announced, then it fell off my radar. No sense in wasting time drooloing over a game you cant play (well understand) for over a year. The only way I will not play Aion is if SE's new MMO has a release date within 4-6 months of Aions release.
Waiting for:EQ-Next, ArcheAge (not so much anymore)
Now Playing: N/A
Worst MMO: FFXIV
Favorite MMO: FFXI
and apparantly it wasnt delayed enough haha
If by SE you mean Square Enix. Then no you will see Aion years before their new mmo.
Aion is already released elsewhere in the world.....what do they need to delay it for it must already be done.
Becuase they want it to be in a good state and a good representation of itself by the time it is released here.
For the same reason that MMO's released here do not immediately get released there, and typically takes a year or so.
Take this example...
WAR came out here, had a smooth release, but had issues. If they were going to release out there, they would address all the issues and make sure all the problems that became apparent in months following the original release are addressed, and the game is in polished shape before it is released there.
Now, I'm not saying WAR or Aion was in better shape then the other when they were originally released, but its obvious that any newly released MMO is going to have issues and not be polished as it will be later on.
Relax though, the longer it takes to release a game, the better it will be in the end.
From what I understand the NA/EU client is done and now they are on the in-house testing phase to see if they got any mistakes due to translation.
Does it really matter if the release is a few month's longer than you expected it to be ?
It sounds more like people have nothing good to play right now and are itching to get something for there fix.

right on the button ,-)

Something tells me he's been corrected before... A lot.

I don't see why you say that.
so what if it comes out now or 2 months from now or two years from now? When it comes out, those who are interested will try it.
I mean, we are not 5, we are not going to throw a temper tantrum just because we can't have it now.
I think we should give ourselves a bit more credit than that!

I guess the OP hasn't been keeping up on Aion's news. The Executive Producer wrote a letting explaining everything awhile ago.

Yup, as posted in the link.
They are not just simply localizing it from korean to english, it would still confuse everyone out of their minds as the eastern culture is just so much different then here. They are basically completly rewriting all forms of the games quests/dialogue/basic text etc so it makes sense to the western culture.
That's exactly what's goin on! All the games out atm suck hard.

The only reason it is taking so long is because the translation staff is clearly understaffed.
There is no valid excuse to release the game a full year after release. What about patches, are those going to be delayed a full year too? Not that I'd expect NCsoft actually answers that one, NCsoft's CM's has been surprisingly absent from this forum since the planned release schedule was revealed.
Ok, lets see you do it mister know-it-all, honestly, if you took a step back and take a deep breath you'll realize why it isn't coming to NA yet.
1) They're translating it AND converting it to be more "westernized - culture..ish"
2) With the recession, and NCsoft losing billions it's not as easy as it may sound
and 3) yes this last statement might hurt some people but...NCsoft isn't looking to NA for their actual profits, they're looking towards the asian countries, Korea, China, Japan etc. Yes the game was made with a more western feel but it was made for the asian community with NA coming later.
That's what I'm thinking.
But, if they release a wiki as powerful as the korean power book and all the web tools the korean Aion website has next to the game, then I'd understand the delay.
There have been many games from different companies oversea's that take a year or more to hit the shores of the western countries. I see nothing clearly in your statement only gessing on your part and not based on fact.
Just because the CM's are absent on this forum does not mean they are silent on other forums: www.aionsource.com/forum/devtrack.php

how's that?
I mean, Aion is not trying to make things different or innovative, dont get me wrong, the game is good ( or atleast it is for me ) but its nothing new, so if you dont like what is currently in the market i bet you wont like Aion also or you will get bored in a month or two.

That's because a lot of eastern companies have understaffed translation services.
Take World of Warcraft, for instance. the Chinese version was released a little over 6 months after the US version. I really doubt Aion has so much more content than WoW that it requires 6 months longer.
Take the Chinese version. While the Chinese Version has a Q3 release, the game is already in beta phase for quite some time now, so I assume the translation for that version is already complete or nearly complete, Why can't NCsoft do the same thing for NA/EU?
The only logical conclussion i can draw is that NCsoft's US/EU division translation team is much smaller than it's chinese counterpart.
We're not talking about a game that has decided on a western release at the last minute, this game was planned for a western release for years now.
