Originally posted by akiira69 That is my opinion on those types of games, we have state of the art game developing software(eg Maya 3D World Creator) and they make games using the Diablo 1 engine. to me its saying i dont care about the graphics part of the game. In my opinion a great game needs more than just a great storyline. but at the same time it also needs more than a great graphics engine. a great game has both killer graphics and a killer storyline to follow, to have 1 but not the other tells me that the game developer either doesnt care about the potential players they could attract ot doesnt care about the game it self. I will not waste time on a game that in my opinion the devs just slapped to gether using an out dated graphics engine. About my attitude in game forums, I have been playing online games sence about 1991(way before MMORPG's were ever thought of) with MUDs(Multi-User DomainsDungeons basically think of them as the grandfather of MMORPG's) I have seen games come and go, and yes Ive become somewhat of a grouch but its well founded and well placed. If you were to look through my eyes at the online game progression from BBS Boards to MUDs to MMORPG's youd be a little cynnical about things to. Especially towards people who think can tell a MMO Development team what they can and cannot do to their game. I have played more online games than I care to count Ive seen the best of online games and I have seen the worst of online games. Hell I even helped code a few MUDs myself, so excuse me for seeing how you respond to my thread for what it really is. And to me your posts are nothing but "Oh look he doesnt use the same vid card that I do so lets berate him over that choice". You didnt even bother to ask why I hated MMO's with 2D and 2.5D graphics you just took it that Im a snob(im not its just that when im paying for either extra goodies for a MMO or paying a monthly fee for a MMO i would want them to at least have decent graphics, and yes i do buy stuff from the stores for Free to Play MMO's and yes I do pay to play those that require a monthly subscription). And yes i notice the difference between the posts you make towards others and the posts you make towards me, and I am suprised by the difference between them, you are calm and civil towards them but the very first thing you say towards me is my choice in vid cards is a joke. Not all of us who play online and offline games have an unlimited budget to upgrade the systems, some of actually have things that are more important than a brand new spiffy vid card. I have rent I need to pay, utility bills I need to pay, phone bill, cable internet bill, cell phone bill, and groceries. No i didnt go through that sentence to make up a sob story on the first of every month i go thru all my bills pay them go out and by a months worth of groceries, after all that I have about $50-$70 USD and depending on the month I might have 2 pay to play MMO's active so that is another $30 out of my check which limits me to $20-$40 a month to play with. After all of that I have very little left for fun, so excuse me if I dont go out and drop $200-$500 USD on a vid card that does a little more than one i pay $50 for. The only reason I mentioned the Vid Card size is every time I ask for help in getting a new game to play(whether it be offline or online) i always get asked what vid card im using and what size memory does it have.
Assuming you're being sincere, your intention seems to be far different from the attitude you portray. I have nothing against someone who prefers a good looking game to a bad looking game. Everyone's got their own opinion and I respect that. I personally love pushing my graphics card to its limits, but I'm also a pretty hardcore gamer, so I love revisiting the old stuff (diablo 2, gemstone 3/4 - a MUD I've played on and off for years and years, chrono trigger, etc).
I also have no problem with whatever video card someone has. The 8600 was a nicely priced, upper-mid-range card when it came out and an affordable way to get into DX10. I don't know much about the 9400 but the way nVidia typically numbers things, I imagine that it might be lower end for gaming than the 8600, or perhaps on par with it in terms of power. Don't know - don't care, but I do know it's not a high end card. My problem with you came from a) your better-than-thou attitude you made very apparent coupled with b) your claim that the 8600 and 9400 were high end cards.
Lets just put all this garbage behind us. Next time you come with a question, try to seem a little bit less arrogant, and I'll try not to snap so quick
He has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. A $89 video card will give him DOUBLE the perfomance he is getting from a 8600. Nvm, people like to talk about stuff they don't know, that's the usual jerk for you.
Let me shed some light on the video card issue. Simply put, the 9400 is the bottom of barrel of the 9 series, far from top of anything. The 8600 is a two generation old card, good in it's day, but struggles with today games. 20-35 FPS is NOT a decent framerate, usually you should turn your settings down with an FPS like that. 30-60 is more like a decent FPS. Personally, I run a 285GTX, really a top of the line card.
As for recommending a game, I can't. All I got was "I want something 3D that will challenge my old video card." In that case, go for WoW.

Read above for EQ2, as for AC1 I played it for 4 and a Half years before I got bored with it, when I quit I had 2 max level characters(126 at the time) and 4 accounts that had enough weapons jewelry and armor to outfit atleast a dozen toons. Like I said there are very few I havent played, I wont play FPS games, I wont play 2D or 2.5D games(except for Diablo 3 I cant wait for this game to come out), I forgot to mention I wont play Browser based games either. If I had to pick a genre of games I like it would be fantasy, Ill give SciFi a shot but mainly I stick with Fantasy. I will not play Historical, Super-Hero, Horror, Real Life, or Sports. There are some exceptions to the rule so to speak like if they were to make a MMO based off The White Wolf Franchise I would play it, hell it would probably give The AD&D MMO being developed by Turbine a run for its money.
Have you tried Ryzom? I have not played it since its return but I played it for about 2 years prior and I highly recopmmend it. Someone with your experience should try it. You are expereinced and probably do not need your hand held. Ryzom might be a good choice for you.
I tried Ryzom when it was in beta didnt like the way it was so I never kept track after the devs brought it back in to alpha. If it has changed I might go back to it.
It is nice that some people rang in with the truth in this thread. I tried to since the OP did claim his cards were top of the line and in an arrogant way, yet I still tried to offer suggestions to the original question. I responded originally because the statements about the OP's setup were simply ridiculos if you know anything about gaming hardware as many of us do. URNotMega although a bit sarcastic in his first response was right. I responded in a bit more gentle way but I was "the idiot". I mention the "idiot" comment not because I was offended. I mention it because someone was so insulted that I was trying to point out the OP was wrong about his claims of top of the line hardware. I was not putting him down but others felt I was.
I find it funny how people are about their games and equipment. These are just games and your equipment is just that, equipment. I am a bit of a technophile I admit this and people who know me will agree. I spend a lot of money/time on computers mainly for gaming. I do realize most people would view this as a bit over the top. However, I do not connect myself to this equipment or my love of certain games. I am not my games or equipment. We are entering a new time in human existance in how we relate to our electronics, connections, and technology. Games will get more immersive and we will live in two realities at the same time. I wonder how people will deal with this in the future. We get a little of the answer when reading simple threads in a game forum. It does not look to promising. Cultural anthropologists have a whole new area of study ahead.
Aside from the original question in this thread, it also points out how overly connected people are. People talked about someones mis-statement about a piece of electronic equipment and the insults started. One thing I have learned in over 37 years of electronic gaming (first system was, Magnovox Odyssey 2000 1972) I am not my equipment. If you are so tied to the cyber world, through games or other ways, that you start blurring the lines between yourself, your equipment and your time in cyber space it is time to disconnect. Of all the electronic gaming options mmorpgs seem to do this the most. I could write a 1000 page paper on this topic. But in short, some people need to disconnect for their own good and it seems many are mmo addicts. I am not saying the OP is a mmo addict but look how many games they have played and it seems plays many at the same time. Go to any number of threads at this site and you will see it over and over. People will neglect their real world for this cyber life. This seems to happen mostly with online gaming not offline gaming.
These comments were not direct specifically at the OP or anyone posting to this thread but it got me thinking about these issues.
actually I use 1440x900(17" Widscreen on the Intel System 19" Widescreen on the AMD System) on both my computers nd I never said that my cards were the best, all I said was why should I spend $220 on a card I can get the same performance out of one that considerbly cheaper. I also never said the RA like to know where you are getting this tM on a vid card makes a vid card uber. I really would like to know where you are getting all of this info. And as for games like World at War and crysis I dont bother playing those types of games FPS Offline(notice I say offline not online) pose no challenge for me because they are easy to defeat with cheats, that is why I play online games because it is impossible to cheat and not get caught even with PunkBuster on a FPS server its still easy to cheat and not get caught but to cheat and not get caught in a MMORPG is a real feat. the only games I play offline are CRPG's which also require heavy graphics cards.
1. Well, that resolution is as bad as the one I said, so it doesn't make any difference.
2. First of, you won't get the same perfomance from a $220 card, it will be much much better than yours, you are just too blind to realize that.
3. Yes, you said RAM matters, you said it on your first post, maybe you should remember what you say.
4. I never talked about World at War, I said World in Conflict, it's a strategy game. Btw, both games you are able to play online, and if you use cheats to beat a game, then it's your own fault. It doesn't make the game easier, it's just.. you are CHEATING. It's like saying, meh, olympics suck because I take steroids and am stronger than anyone else.
5. It's not impossible to cheat on an online game, and it is very easy to cheat on a MMORPG, ever heard of bots? Trainers? Buying in-game money, accounts or char with real money? That's all fairly easy, you just need MONEY.
CRPGs requiring heavy graphic cards? Don't make me laugh.
Again, get a clue what you are talking about. you don't even know what you said the day before.
PS: Playing on a 17" inch monitor... you really should stop talking about stuff you don't know.
1) The Resolution of a monitor does not set how a game runs just how you view a game.
2) I never said the perfomance was the same, I said why should i spend $220 when I can play the same game with one that costs $50.
3)I neve said RAM Matters I said its a driving force behind which games i can and cannot play.
4)I never said I cheat when playing an offline game, all I said was the opportunities to cheat in an offline game and have no reprecussions were higher than that of an online game. Also I do not play RTS games cause they do not pose a challenge to me. The only games that do are CRPG's, where there is an actualy challenge to stay either good or evil. In an RTS game there are set paramiters that one must follow to complete a level. I feel the same way about FPS games, only difference between RTS and FPS is that in a FPS its a FFA killing spree betwen the start of the level and the end of the level. In most of the new CRPG's you are given only a storyline and you choose how your character determines the outcome of the story.
5)I never said it was impossinle to cheat in onlime games i said the possibilities to cheat and not get caught were slim to none.
6)I said 17' WIDESCREEN not 17" Plain there is a complete difference
You say I need to get a clue yet you nit pick at what I say and only comment on what you want to and more often than not you get it wrong learn to read before you comment then you might actually see what Im typing.

Please someone tell me when and where I said my cards were the best out. I would really like to know when I said this. I find it funny that people can take only what that want to read and place words in other peoples mouths. I never said my cards were the best, yet here are people claiming I did. The only thin I said was I can play wow on max settings, hell I said I could play EQ2 on max settings and took a screen shot with proof yet here are people basically calling me a liar. You know what forget the damn topic go back to your own sugar coated world where the only vid cards that matter to you are the ones in your own damn computer. Go back to the world where everyone can afford the same vid card you can because apparently you arent ready for the real world yet. I have tried to be civil, I have tried to make the point that not everyone can afford a $220 vid card but apparently it hasnt sunked in your thick skulls yet. I have tried not to be cross(and believe me if you think what I have said up till now is bad you havent seen the worst just think of what youve seen up till now is the calm before the storm. trust me when I say this you havent seen nothing yet if you keep attacking what i have said) this whole thread but you people just dont care what you say or how you attack others. you know what? I thought vnboards were the only place with this type of moronic attidue I guess I was wrong.
Edit: Oh about Ryzom. I beta tested it when it was called Saga of Ryzom. I didnt like it then what makes you think Ill like it now?

Perhaps that wasn't the best choice of words -- typically, I am responding to someone who is behaving like an idiot, so I admit that it was my first inclination to respond in such a manner, but the comment was both inappropriate and rash in this circumstance, and it only resulted in making me seem childish, as I already said, so allow me to rephrase my thoughts and retract my initial comment:
After lambasting the OP for behaving arrogantly, you then had the audacity to post a photo of your computer, which, in my mind, is patently obvious hypocrisy. THAT was what irritated me. How did posting a photo of your hardware relate to trying clarify what you thought was a misconception about the quality of the OP's video cards? Yes, that seemed as condescending as anything the OP said at that time. If you wanted to show off your rig, perhaps this wasn't the best place to do it.
Apparently, you deliberately ignored a portion of my post; otherwise, you would have noticed that I also stated that I didn't understand why the fact that the OP can derive enjoyment from a "low-cost video card" seemed to exasperate you. I never mentioned thinking it was "top-of-the-line hardware." Either you can't read or you're trying to twist my words so as to have another connotation for them. Obviously, I believe the latter to be the case.
So, in case you again construe a different meaning from my words, let me reiterate the fact that what I initially said had nothing to do with being "insulted that [you were] trying to point out the OP was wrong about his claims of top of the line hardware." As I said, I believe that you already knew this, but that you're trying to convolute my intent. I think I already made a clear, concise explanation about my actual intent above, so there's little else to say.
EDIT:
OP:
After reading some of your more recent comments, particularly the "City of Warehouses" one, I think that the others are right about you to some degree. Such snide remarks, especially when people were offering you earnest suggestions, makes me question why I ever said anything in your defense to begin with.

Akiira69, There's a nice little button called BLOCK just above or next to the report button, these can work wonders, use them.
As for Ryzom, nothing makes me think you would or wouldn't like it now, it's up to you to go find out and give it a second chance if you like it, as for me I'm playing TCoS and Mabinogi

And I apologized for those comments I made towards those who were truly helping me find a game. And I am still sorry for the comments I made to those who are still trying to help me find a game to play. I am not sorry to those who think that they should make comments about my rig just because I wont go out of my means(def-out side my money range) and get a video card that costs $220 when I can play the same games they can with one considerbly cheaper. All I asked for a little help getting a new online game to play. I posted my system spec's not because I wanted to brag but because I knew if I didnt then the first response to my quest would have been "I cant tell you what games to play because I do not know what type of system you are running". How do I know this because I made a post like this once. I came here to a gaming site because I had hoped people would actually suggest games to play. What I did not expect was to be constantly harreased because I didnt drop $200+ on the best video card out. So I play on an out dated vid card, that doesnt mean you people can blast me for it. Can I play the best games out on the best settings? More than likely no. Can I play those same games with balanced or lower? More than likely yes. Does it matter that I cannot play the best games on the best setting? NO! I didnt ask what games I could play with max setting all I asked was what games could I play with the system spec's I provided. A few of you posted some good games, some I am already playing but still some very good games. The Reason I called CoX(CoH/CoV) City of Warehouses is because anyone that has played it would realize that all you are doing for the whole game is hunting in warehouses, banks, casinos, and office buildings. But mostly you are hunting in warehouses with different graphics. I am sorry if I seem snide about it, and I should of been more polite and how I responded but up until then all I got was crap about how my vid card was crap. So I took that CoX recommendation as the same one as the WoW recommendation. The rest seem to do nothing but blast my choice on vid cards and claim that well sence my cards arent the best out , that the only game I could play is World of Warcraft. I might not be the best at knowing what the trend is when it comes to computer parts but I do know what my system can and cannot do. And I know for a fact that if my system can handle EverQuest 2 on max settings than my system can more than handle whatever WoW can throw at me.
"Possibly we humans can exist without actually having to fight. But many of us have chosen to fight. For what reason? To protect something? Protect what? Ourselves? The future? I agree with you on that point, but I suppose that's already pretty obvious.
Also, I do respect the fact that you've apologized. Personally, I think that it's time to allow the drama to at last subside, and now that I've redacted my original message so that my true intent is clear (and less offensive), I won't be posting in this thread again.

I'm going to try to respond to you politely since I've already attempted to make peace with you. Understand that even though I'm pointing out things you're wrong about, I'm not attacking you, just pointing out that you're wrong in some cases.
1. The resolution absolutely does matter with how a game runes. The more data a graphics card has to handle the more difficult it is for the graphics card. Rendering 800x600 is much easier than rendering 1440x900. 1440x900 doesn't just look better, it's more data than 800x600 (or any resolution smaller than 1440x900) so it's more work for the GPU.
2. Actually you said exactly that: "all I said was why should I spend $220 on a card I can get the same performance out of one that considerbly cheaper". People aren't just making stuff up. You say something, they respond to it. If you didn't mean what you said, maybe you need to slow down and reread your posts before submitting them.
3. What you said was "Unless there is a card out there bigger than 1gbs RAM then my cards can run almost any game out." - what we're saying is the video card's RAM doesn't really matter all that much, and it's certainly not determining which games you can and cannot play. Most modern video cards have more than enough ram to handle whatever, and there are plenty that are overkill on ram. Your 1gb video card ram is more than enough for any game, but that doesn't necessarily mean it can play any game - it just means you're video card ram isn't preventing you from playing anything. Your graphics card's speed is preventing you from maxing any reasonably high end game, the amount of ram isn't even a factor because 1gb is currently overkill. (Note: overkill on ram is a good thing but not necessarily a performance enhancing thing on a game that isn't going to use all the ram in the first place).
5. Come on man You said "that is why I play online games because it is impossible to cheat and not get caught".

In your OP you said "On both of my computers I have the top of the line graphics cards, im not going to waist them by playing free to play 2.5D MMO's"
"Top of the line" means "best" - if there was a line of video cards ranging from worst to best, you said yours would be at the top of the line.
You need to stop arguing about stuff you're not just that smart about. It's OK to not be that knowledgeable about this stuff but please stop acting like you are.

This is why people are getting mad at you and starting fights. You come across as an arrogant know-it-all but your facts are all terribly wrong. Then you come and say one thing and deny you said it at all, or claim you said something else. Come on now
To me "top of the line" does not mean "best" to me it means it can run most if not all games with little problem If i said "the best out" then I can see your point. My choice of wording might be wrong but the intention behind them is not. As you can clearly see english is not my strong suit. So I appologize for incorrect usage of words. How ever instead of giving me the doubt of poorly placed words you went out of your way to insult me and every post after that was another insult. And you want me to appologize for responding as such? And here you call me an arrogant know at all.
"Possibly we humans can exist without actually having to fight. But many of us have chosen to fight. For what reason? To protect something? Protect what? Ourselves? The future? If we kill people to protect ourselves and this future, then what sort of future is it, and what will we have become? There is no future for those who have died. And what of those who did the killing? Is happiness to be found in a future that is grasped with blood stained hands? Is that the truth?"
I am disappointed in you guys. You have all sat here and feed this troll 7 pages worth of your time and effort.
OP doesn't want a game, OP wants to argue. OP claims to be a gamer but has the system of a noob.
Listen OP,
#1 - As many others have stated, if you would quit bouncing from game to game every 2 days, you might be able to find something you like. The IWIN button is not in most MMORPG's. Many take time and effort to get into the enjoyable parts of gameplay.
#2 - Your system is garbage, as just about everyone but you already knows, it is lower middle class rig at best. Just because your PNY or XFX box says 1gb on it doesn't make your system handed down by god to grace gaming with your presence.
I would be ashamed to call myself a gamer or claiming to be one, with the "extensive" list of games you have played, running a system like yours. I would just toss it out a window.
So stop kidding yourself about having some great or decent rig. Your asking a lot just to call it "decent". It is annoying.
#3 - Good luck with finding a game that is not "beneath" you. You have already played as it seems the best MMORPG's and RPG;s the world has to offer at this point in time. You do not like any of them.
My suggestion to OP : Go download the NES, SNES, Gensis or whatever emulators and get started on those roms.
PS - Neither of those PC's will run AoC on max setting, I really wouldn't try it unless you want to fill your house with smoke. I do not play AoC anymore, but I know your PC isn't running that game maxed out. Just not gonna happen. Think what you want, but you're delusional.

If I wanted an arguement I would of either posted in the spam board or have gone to the VNBoards. I know for a fact that my system isnt the best out right now, but seeing the fact that I dont make a 5 figure check every week like you all seem to do I am forced to use what I can afford. Which is the $50-$70 range of video cards. I have tried to explain this time and time again but apparently you people dont seem to understand that fact. This is the last time I am posting in this thread and As of right now I am looking for an admin to either delete this thread or lock it.

Alright, now that this is out of the way, and we seem to have humbled you a tad, let us see if we can get down to the root of your problem.
I am going to name 5 MMO's and I want you to tell me 1 positive and 2 negatives of each. Doing this we can narrow down what you seem to like and dislike about MMO's and find you the best fit accordingly.
1. World of Warcraft -

I chose the above 5 games for very specific reasons. If you answer me on these, I will tell you what the reasons were.

You know what forget the damn topic go back to your own sugar coated world where the only vid cards that matter to you are the ones in your own damn computer.
This is what most of the responses that were negative were refering to (see quote below). You never said your cards were the best but you did call them top of the line and the "beneath me" comment was a bit insulting. I play isometric view (2.5d as you call it) mmos. So I, like a few other, found it a bit of a dig at players who enjoy these game. Ragnarok Online is this type of game and is a brilliant successful game. You all may laugh but Hello Kitty Online will be this type of game and the develpoers are going to be very rich. No one called you a liar ( unless I missed that) we simply suggested you were misinformed some more harshly then others.
"On both of my computers I have the top of the line graphics cards, im not going to waist them by playing free to play 2.5D MMO's. Its a waist of system resources and beneath me to even think about playing."

Seeing that I still need a new online game to play Ill humor you a little.
World of Warcraft:
Positive: The ability to Solo ant Any Level
Negative: Certain Classes are over looked not becvause of what they can do but what they might do
negative: Gold Farmers
Everquest 2:
Positive: Also has a great ability to Solo at most of the levels and through most of the quests
Negative: Zone Loading, I hate Zone Loading
Negative: If you want to get anything done fast you are forced to group hunt.
Final Fantasy XI: Im not able to get this to launch do a communication error code POL - 1160. I spent more than 2 hours on the phone between Square-Enix, My ISP, and Microsoft and neither one could tell me how to fix the problem. Which is sad because I am a die hard Final Fantasy Fan. I have played and replayed the American Final Fantasy Games from 1 to 8 I cant play from 9 to 13 because I cant afford a PS3
Guild Wars
Positive: Free to Play
Negative: Not enough solo content
Negative: To much emphasise on PvP not enough on PvE
Eve Online: Havent played due to the fact that from what I have heared. From what I have heared about the game is to get anything done take real time to do it, and to me and my short attention span that is just to damn long
Oh and about my omment on cheating, in offline game s the only games I have EVER cheated was RTS games cause they are too damn boring to sit thru as you grind up to make things, which is why I do not play RTS games due to the fact that they are to boring. I dont cheat while playing RPG's and I dont play FPS because to play them offline requires no skill and sence the offline is to boring for me I do not play them online. Also it is next to impossible to cheat and not get caught in an online game. Most of those who cheat and dont immidiatly get caught will go on gamming forums like here, vnboards, or ten ton hammer and brag about their feat, and that is what gets them caught

You have taken on the chin a bit in this thread but that comes with the territory when you start a thread using the approach you did. This thread does not need to be locked since it raises a lot of interesting questions. Sorry you took a bit of a spanking from some but I have also many time and have never asked to have a thread deleted because of it. Believe me I have gotten a lot worst then any of the responses that were directed towards you in this thread. One thing about posting here at mmorpg you need to have a bit of a thick skin.
I have good equipment very good but not top of the line. I am a college art instructor and we all know how high paid my profession is. It does not take a ton of money to have a really great gaming system. It takes a bit of research and smart shopping.

I wanted to stop it from degerating even further, I am a tried and true VNBoards reader so I know exactly where a thread can and will go.

You do realize the photo it had nothing to do with how great my rig may or may not be? It was a light hearted off topic picture showing where I spend a lot of my cyber time. It in no way was intended to be some arrogant attack on the OP It had nothing to do with the OP or his claims. You misunderstood this and the reasons I posted the picture.
Here is the quote that went with the picture. Not sure how you misunderstood it's intent.
"I love mmos and have to be totally immersed to really enjoy my experience. Here is where I go to escape the real world."
World of Warcraft: Probably the most casual friendly and broad spectrum MMO to date, caters to every play style. Both solo and group oriented. Positive: The ability to Solo ant Any Level Negative: Certain Classes are over looked not becvause of what they can do but what they might do negative: Gold Farmers Everquest 2: Very deep in story questlines, also boast the most technically "hard" raid encounters of any MMO on the market right now. More group based than solo based in end game, however solo works well here also. Positive: Also has a great ability to Solo at most of the levels and through most of the quests Negative: Zone Loading, I hate Zone Loading Negative: If you want to get anything done fast you are forced to group hunt. Final Fantasy XI: The most group centric MMO ever created, you can forget about playing solo in this game past 14 or so, unless you do not mind playing 1 of 3 classes in the game. Also very technical and hardcore game mechanics make casual players steer clear.
BTW* to fix that POL : 1160 issue - it is a router and antivirus issue. Disable your antivirus and firewalls, even microsoft firewall. Reset you router config back to default then give it a go. Should work for you.

Alright now I will explain the games to you and we can narrow down the search even more.
From what you have typed out so far, it tells me the type of gamer you are.
You prefer not to depend on others for your leveling purposes. As Solo oriented gameplay seems to be a highly regarded positive of gameplay for you.
You also do not like annoyances in a game. In example spam of idiots or gold farmers. Or players who inflate the economy.
You believe it or not are a very story driven gamer, you are an explorer, or you would not like the FF series of games. I also have played every FF game ever made so I know how FF gamers tend to be. (That being said you more than likely will not find FF11 to your liking as it takes the concepts of all other FF games and tosses them out a window.)
You also like open ended world with no seems. Which also points to a gamer who like to be completely submerged in their game world. Loading is annoyance. It breaks the flow of the game.
Ok so we have a few pieces of the puzzle.
Now for round 2 of questions.
Which do you like better?
1. PvE or PvP or Equally Both -
2. Grinding or Questing or Raiding Dungeons -
3. Normal Ruleset - PvP Ruleset - Roleplay Ruleset -

FFXI - I have disabled Windows Firewall, WIndows Defender, LinkSys Router FireWall, Uninstalled AVG Virus Scanner Disabled SpyBot, even tried with all the programs that are in my msconfig startup disabled and still nothing.
You are correct I love a game with a good story to follow , it started with AD&D PNP games then went on to Diablo 1 and Final Fantasy 7 for PC, then I went back and baught all the FF games for Nintnedo, Super Nintendo and GameBoy Classic. Every game sence then I have played has had a rich storyline to follow.
1) I love PvE, it gives me a chance to continue on with the storyline from my prespective, Ill occasionally join a PvP group when Im bored but mostly its PvE
2) I like a little challenge when I am leveling so I grind and Quest, Havent been in a game long enough to do the high level raids. the longest game I have ever played is Asheron's Call for 4 and a half years and it took me all that time to get to max level.
3)Normal Ruleset, with option to turn on or off pvp depending on my mood, while I respect RolePlayers its just not for me

1Gbs Asus Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT
500Gbs Western Digital Hard Drive
2 22x DVD Burners(With LightScribe)
Windows XP Home Service Pack 3
That's where you said they were the best.
The resolution DOES affect how the game runs. Try running WoW at 800x600, check the FPS. Now run it at the highest resolution, check the FPS. I guarantee a 15 FPS difference, at least.
As for the "I haven't played Final Fantasy 9-13 because I can't afford a PS3", 9-12 are on the PS2 and 13 isn't even out in America yet.
You say have a short attention span? Why the hell are trying to play in a genre of games that takes at least 70 hours of playtime to achieve much of anything?
Now, as for your game, now that you actually told us something, I think Lord of the Rings Online would suit you nicely. It's PvE oriented, has a very good story that is well presented, cutscenes included, it has a lot of solo content with a great amount of group stuff too. Both of your rigs would struggle with the graphics if you were to set it on higher settings, but it runs fine on pretty much any computer with the options set further down.

As the title says I am in desperate need of a new MMO to play either Free to play or Pay to Play, I have played most if not all Pay to Play MMORPG's and most if not all Free to Play 3D MMORPG's. Before anyone starts on the rant I should give 2D and 2.5D MMORPG's let me say that I wont play ANY MMO that is 2D cause it reminds me of the days of side scrolling games for consoles, and the 2.5D reminds me of Diablo 1 and 2. If I wanted to play a 2D game I will download a NES SNES GameBoy or Sega Genesis Emulator and some ROM's to play with. If I wanted to play a game with 2.5D graphics Ill re-install Diablo 2 and the Diablo 2 Expansion Pack Lord of Destruction. On both of my computers I have the top of the line graphics cards, im not going to waist them by playing free to play 2.5D MMO's. Its a waist of system resources and beneath me to even think about playing.
The Computer Spec's for both my computers:
1)Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2ghz CPU
3Gbs Kingston DDR2 333 PC2 - 5300 RAM
1Gbs Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT
250Gbs Western Digital Hard Drive
16x16 DVD Burner
Windows Vista Home Premium(Build 6001: Service Pack 1)
2) AMD Phenom X3 2.1ghz Triple-Core
4Gbs DDR2 1066 Kingston RAM
Umm where is the word "best" at I have read and re-read the post and unless my eye sight is failing me the word "best" is no where to be found. The last Console system I played was Sega DreamCast, and imo that was 10x better than the PS2 and the Xbox. Yes there was loading screens but if it werent for the Dreamcast system how much longer do you think it would of taken Nintendo, Sony, or Micro$haft to consider allowing their consoles to go online to play? If it wasnt for Sega then most of the features you love on your PS2, PS3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox, and Xbox 360 would have probably taken alot longer to get out on the market.
As for LotRO I might give it a shot I already tried Asheron's Call(played it for 4 and a half years), and I tried D&D Online(though I didnt like the campeign module they chose to work with). If I can play WoW on max graphics, and play EQ2 on max Graphics why would my rigs struggle on LotRO? Also why do you have to repeatedly beat the dead horse(the dead horse being the constant rag on my choice of vid cards), its dead get over it. we have moved on past that point. Are you that in love with your vid card that the only thing you can think of how uber it is? We get the point, the matter has dropped if you keep on pestering me about this not only will I block you but I will report you.

Decent is at LEAST 40.
Ryzom; Sci-fi / fantasy, " P2P " PvE PvP: http://www.ryzom.com/en/index.html

WOW!

2. Everquest 2 -

3. Final Fantasy 11 -

Just quote me and fill in the positive and negatives with a color of your choice. I will look at it and try to help you.
I chose the above 5 games for very specific reasons. If you answer me on these, I will tell you what the reasons were.
