    Prow, dude, get a life.

Playing a forum drama queen everyday is pathetic.

Your gem yesterday trying to stir up bad pub for Darkfall: If they don't like your name... YOUR PERMANENTLY BANNED!

Now this weaksauce thread today. Not epic or funny.

It's a young company, at least they are trying to communicate w/ the playerbase about issues that might effect them.

You quit anyways. Get a job/gf/hobbie.

I'm sorry but I did find the fact that you walk into a dungeon and fall forever funny given the name of the game.

I'll  bet they're just kidding.  In fact, I'll bet if you go into dungeons you'll find they are bugged, but you won't fall, but rather will find all of your bags filled with loot and gold, with all your skills maxed to 100.

Everyone should ignore the warning and go ahead anyways.

    This is the problem

AV did not discover this bug that made people fall forever.

It was the players who actually fell and reported it.

Then after a few people falling for ever they finally took the desision to  warn the people of their boo boo.

Rookie programmers. Or how about this  Obsolete Programers. they need to hit school again.

    /facepalm

For once a studio his honest talking about an issue and actually informing the players you find nothing more than bashing them.

I do hope their next message would be: “Bug event: patching in process.”

Guess you'd rather like "professional" messages that takes you are dumb sheeps

As a note all and I mean it ALL MMO encountered files corruptions.

It amazes me how far people can go to criticize others. Get a life!

Heh, this is pretty funny. Wonder what files get corrupted though. Hopefully it is nothing to serious.

    Exactly.

They know they are new and have problems, but they are honest and upfront about it.

Would you prefer them not tell us?  Every mmo in the past has had patches that have had to been instantly fixed becuase something unexpected got through.

AV has made a lot of mistakes on the business end of running their game, but they still have one of the most intense and enjoyable pvp MMOs on the market right now, and it is not even close.

    Agreed 100%

    So what?

On a much larger scale remember how the US managed Katrina hurricane.

They were informed before hand, had top notch experts, one, if not the best logistic in the world and look at what happened.

You even say after a few people failing... that means they reacted very fast. Think they were very efficient:

    • Tacking account of the data
    • Investigating the issue
    • Finding the source of the problem
    • Reacting (fast)
    • Informing the players
    • Mitigating the impact
    • Let the people keep playing
    • Work on the problem in the background

In fact many companies could take an example of how they managed this incident, even big ones...

(For the record I don't play the game nor intend to do  so... until now)

What in flying fuck does  goverment aid has to do with a company trying to make a profit out of people??

darn that sounded retarted trying to compare the 2.

use another damn company you know somthing more related if your gonna post a reply.

    Infact im gonna add this:

about every other mmo company has somthing av kinda forgot to have.

    ITS CALLED TEST SERVERS.

yes those servers where you can put patches on and make sure you get the bulk of the new data right.  a small bug or 2 might skip out the testing phase wich is normal. But a complete stupidity like this one escape the programmers.

that noob crap amatur rookie mistakes.

in the short time this game been out its been 1 big mistake after another. they do not test their shit  the only server they got is where they test their new content. this is why so many problems arise.

even the crapstacular game Istaria (horizons) has a test server.

there is NO excuse not to have one especially how far mmorpgs have evolved.

no matter how you want to paint it they messed up big time. Of what i know the dev team currently behind Istaria is only a few members and atleast their patches dont come with huge disasters like what we have seen happen to darkfall. Tests erver baby.

    one av just doesnt have.

Im going to sell you a dream.

Agreed. Although stating the reason is just the way Aventurine works. It's always been known that DF is a game by lamers for lamers.

You might want to understand the reason for the comparison, really.

Test servers, let's see... ever heard of SWG? You wonder what they where used for.

Also test servers seldomly prevents file corruption. It's one of the nightmare of devs and admins coupled with memory leaks.

BTW I seriously doubt they don't have test servers. I will need more than your assumptions on that part.

once again stop trying to compare 2 different things.  swg the devs did a rehaul , tested it and added it.  while it caused an uproar it was playable and people didnt fall forever. that was a bad desision of the devs to try to compete against blizzard.

av = every patch so far brought problems.

keep in mind the fall thru the dungens was NOT the only problem their recent patch brought,

the huge memory leak was introduced, one that if they would have tested it would have been spotted. they claimed they fixed it yet people keep reporting that it still happens.

amatur at best. never in mmo history have we seen a dev team fuck up so much. I know no one is perfect. other games also have their shit on it to but constantly fucking up. naw they have no clue what to do.

I know, these whiners that don't even play are pathetic.

I have fallen thru the world in other MMOGs and games because of existing  issues that needed to be fixed like sloppy coding or poor collision detection without any previous warning even though the developers were aware of the widespread problem.

SOE for instance would always deny first that there was an issue and then stonewall you with silence after conceding it was a minor problem until they got around to fixing it.

Honesty, I just thought the message was funny.  Given the name of the game I found it even more amusing but I would never tell anyone to quit a game over it.  I've fallen through the world in several different MMOs for various reasons.  One of my favorties was in COH where they just forgot  to add part of a corridor  to a mission map so anyone not flying suddenly just disappeared.  Was very funny while everyone tried to figure out what was going on. :)
