This thread is proof that people willlook for anything to criticize DF about.
A mount/vehicle that is of useother than transportation/storage is rather rare in MMOs Add to it that multiplayers can not only ride it but there are different devices that each player can control on it, Now add to it the enemy can climb on and attack you while using it. Flying tanks with flamethrowers are just plain cool, and what's silly isn't that it is some kind of anachronisn to the setting as some have stated, but that someone would actually make a comment like that in a game where people cast spells, resurrect after death and fight monsters.
First Warhulk seems to be spotted in action on this player released video. It can be found HERE.
Looks extremely cheap.Only one animation used also makes it look like a noob designer.A single flame animation and always the same size lol. Also uses one colour yellow not much creation there, unless you were designing it for the old nintendo and sega systems. This once again shows that AV has created nothing for this game, this obviously looks like very OLD original tech designed by the original crew, probably 6 years ago, maybe longer.
Here is a clip from FXXI a very old game done on a very weak engine designed for console not PC,and you will see several parts to the animations ,not the cheap looking animation used by that war hulk lol. This shows even the lowest poly game can create better looking animations with some effort.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
That was...um... underwhelming. I'd be more impressed if AV update there website.
Why would they want to do that.
Exactly. Why would you want to communicate with your customers?
Off-topic.
Pot calls kettle, nowhaimsayin?
Fine. My game, Darkfall, has a pretty awesome siege weapon called a warhaulk. What does your game have?
Customer support and a factual website ?..... ouch ! Could not resist. Anyways back on topic...
If AV updated there website they could show off this wonderful creation instead of doing features which are not in the game. Then I can give AV 1% credibility.( OK so they were like 90% negative but I am feeling generous as of today and they can start back at 0%. )
No laserbeam, but there is a flamethrower. And also what seemed like a gun shooting at the end? While the war hulk looks cool, it is kinda silly in this environment. I mean... guys running around in armor with swords and .. a tank with a flamethrower. Does it actually do any damage to the building? All I saw was shooting, flames, but no damage. Does it work on water? Does it need ammo? How fast is it?
Warhulks are incredibly expensive to make and there is only few cities in the world that actually can make Foundry to even build them, so they are only available to large alliances. Think of Eve Titans (or maybe Battleships).
You can see the damage in your logs and how much health it has left only when it's in your "targeting reticle".
*Warning, heavy speculation*
Cannon in front and flamethrower in the back, driver uses cannon and another person riding the warhulk can use flamethrower - very effective weapon if it has the same stats as flamethrower tower.
Most likely it's able to cross bodies of water slowly.
It doesn't use ammunition as there is no such craftables.
Slower than a mount.
Thnx for the input! This looks pretty nice feature.
What is it used for? laying siege to cities or can it be used effectively for other purposes ( PvE? )
Does it damage players if you run over them?
The top section of the tank is open, can you kill people inside without the need to destroy the tank?
if you can, can you steal it when its unmanned?
Can you summon that tank from the city only or is it stored in your inventory like a mount?
All mounts, ships can be stolen when unmounted, kill the driver and flee.
It's also possible to kill the players inside instead of just attacking the vehicle itself and then take the warhulk, thus that's another good reason why it's never without large support force.
There is a figurine in your inventory which you use to summon the vehicle or mount.
*Warning, heavy speculation*
It's deployed only for sieges because you cannot (most likely) to use it to just destroy groups of people because they might jump in the Warhulk and kill everyone inside and steal the vehicle - to get in you will need launch or high structure to get the jump on them but it's possible.
I don't believe it damages the players you run over them, but I think there are several types of these vehicles and some most likely are meant to be used in close combat as well.

if you look back at the 17 min Oct 2008 video, you can clearly see a ground level entrance into the warhulks, and there is even a shot of a guy backstabbing a guy on the warhulk's gun.
