It was a rather appropriate reply to 'ANOTHER "game killer" remark'. I don't really understand why you have to edit EVERY post of yours, can't you think it through before posting? >.> I'm sure sleep would help my arguing skills, but I think you need to step back and realize that when people attack WoW they aren't attacking you. If you enjoy it so much why are you wasting your time here defending it when you should be playing it?
I don't step back because I don't need to.
Right because you are always on the edge of your seat to rush to the defense.
I am just analysing why people come here and lie about their experience in Wow like the OP did.
WOTLK sucked, that was experience I guess I'm a liar as well.
Wow needs no defense, but I wonder why people still want to make useless comments in a 250 logged in world wide web forum.
WoW needs so much defense that you continue to throw the problems out the window. You would be the perfect developer for a game like Darkfall. . Most of what the OP said is pretty solid.
Apparently most go a long way to hate a video game.
It works both ways. You love the game so much you are crawling in every post related to WoW polluting it with your presence.
Why should I need to take a step back when I hold a not so conveniant mirror in front of their faces?
With a kiss of cherry? Ugh one of the worst commercials ever imo >.>
I like your comment thingy, I was in vent a few months ago and someone said something about el diablo, and some person asked what it meant and before anyone else could say anything I blurted out "like a fighting chicken." Good times!
I didn't like WoW in the past after 8 months of playing i got bored of the gear grind. Yet now 8 months later I have resubed, and purchased WotLK. It has been great so far even though i have been playing with a friend who has never played the game before and have not had a chance to look at the new content. So I am having some fun playing through the old content.
Every game will get boring and stale regardless of the quality after a long time of playing. When that time comes it is best to just move on and try something new for a while, and maybe you might get the desire to retry the game again in the future. Just coming here and adding to the stack of people who say they hate a game just creates arguements that never lead anywhere. Best to just let it go and find something else you enjoy playing, and leave the fans and the haters to fight the ultimate form of pvp known as the mmo forum.
"wow is all kids" like only adults play AoC, FFII, Lotrol, eq2 blah blah. A cop out. If the OP did play years ago people had lvl 60 run them through instances just as much lmao.. Yeah its really changed. For someone that talks like you dont like questing easy you sure talk ALOT about QUESTHELPER.. hmmm Yet .. does anyone have to use questhelper?
Gee people leaving groups, ninja looters.. MAN those things never happened before! See makes you really wonder how long the OP really played. ANYONE that played WOW from day one KNOWS this happend then and still happens today. Knows young people play and older play. Why not post this on WOW fourms lol.. watch how far it goes..
"wow is all kids" like only adults play AoC, FFII, Lotrol, eq2 blah blah. A cop out. If the OP did play years ago people had lvl 60 run them through instances just as much lmao.. Yeah its really changed. He was actually right here. Back in the days groups were more so made up of players of the same level. Even months into those clearing MC, Ony etc. Raiding took up more time in classic. Some normal (not raid)Instances alone are about as long assome raids in WOTLK. I can remember grouping with players of my level to run all the instances as I advanced. Most 60's were so caught up in competing with 39 other raid members for gear that they had no time to run anybody through. Now you can have a level 80 solo practically any instance non heroic. Things did change. People now have more time in WoW to do more then just raid. Another problem is most players want to rush to 80. And blizzard encourages it. Look at linked accounts for more info. For someone that talks like you dont like questing easy you sure talk ALOT about QUESTHELPER.. hmmm Yet .. does anyone have to use questhelper? Gee people leaving groups, ninja looters.. MAN those things never happened before! Actually the leaving groups thing happens more so now because the learning experience is over. I have seen groups treat new players like they should know every thing about the game. Hell its been out for what 4 years? I guess the world needs to know how WoW works. Simply people leave more often when something goes wrong, this was till happening in classic. But hardly as much as today. Guess its all the elitest now. See makes you really wonder how long the OP really played. ANYONE that played WOW from day one KNOWS this happend then and still happens today. Knows young people play and older play. Why not post this on WOW fourms lol.. watch how far it goes..

Wow needs no defense, but I wonder why people still want to make useless comments in a 250 logged in world wide web forum.
Then, if you think this is one insignificant little forum with only 250 people logged in, why do you post here? Or is what you're doing pretty much trolling what you think to be enemy grounds just to promote WoW?
Apparently most go a long way to hate a video game.
Why should I need to take a step back when I hold a not so conveniant mirror in front of their faces?
Do you seriously think that what you're doing is better? Wasting your life away defending a video game which doesn't really need your help and a company so rich that it probably doesn't care about anything except your monthly $15?
Yes, OP, it is sad when a game you have come to love no longer holds the fun it did.
WOW has had issues. The so called "HONOR " sytem which was more of a gank a matic.
The expansions making everyones hard fought dungeons sets utterly replaceable by greens in the first new area.
And lets us not forget the wonderful grind of the daily quests.
Yada, yada, yada.
Unfortunately my friend that is the nature of the beast. While it is new it is exciting.
Once the honeymoon is over you really take a long hard look at the game you just plunked down a wad of cash on and reality sets in.
EVE, DOAC, EQ, SWG (before the crappy patch and after) , AOC, COH/COV, WAR and more others than I can name here.
All have the same basic concept. Gather, grow, build. Your charactaer eventually maxes out and you are left with the option of a few new pieces of equipment and the promise of a new expansion.
I offer these words of advise for you. Only play a game while it is fun. Do not force it. You will end up wasting your time and when it is a recreation activity it doesn't make sense to do that.
There are a lot of great games out there. Try something else. Just make sure you have fun.

Most awesome advice I've seen so far on the forums
"He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance ; one cannot fly into flying"
Ah yes, "lie" again. Anything negative about WoW is a lie to you, correct?
Oh the joy of irony.
I'm glad you have your signature to show you for the complete hypocrite that you are. You are dismissed.
Irony? Not really.
I for one never disputed the subscription figures Blizzard is toting around, because it so vastly outpaces every other MMO out there that it's a waste of time to do so.
My signature, actually, is a quote by Mark Twain. The purpose of this quote is to say that you can make statistics say what the hell you want, or in this case, that whichever game has the highest subscription figures is the best. Nothing more.
I agree, the social aspect of this game is ruined. I miss the old 60 days and I wish they'd come out with a server just for old world stuff. That being said, I think the more populated the server is, the less fun it is. Everyone always talks about getting away from drama and stuff, but I love it. Small servers are awesome. I love it when a guy in your guild quits and joins another rival guild and everyone is like 'OMG he joined XXXX'. I regret rerolling on a popuated server because you can PUG everything including Uldular. Guilds really have no meaning at all. As soon as free transfers open up, I'm taking it.
Ah yes, "lie" again. Anything negative about WoW is a lie to you, correct?

So the entire point of your signature is to call anyone a liar who is references the positive aspect of 11 million subscribers. Ok, tell me again where I was wrong in pointing out your hypocrisy, because I think that pretty much spells out exactly what you are doing and just admitted to.
You have spent a fair amount of time doing exactly what you are criticising someone else for. Not to mention you have had a nasty habit of replacing fact with speculation and conjecture beyond reason. Yet I'm sure you will have another excuse or famous auther to hang out to dry.

So the entire point of your signature is to call anyone a liar who is references the positive aspect of 11 million subscribers. Subscription levels should mean nothing when reviewing a game, unless they affect the gameplay itself. Some Pirates of the Burning Sea servers, for example, had populations too low to sustain an in-game economy -- just an example like that. The only positive aspect of 11 million subscribers is for Blizzard's developers and, more importantly, to its stockholders. Means nothing whatsoever for the player except to say the game won't go bust overnight. Ok, tell me again where I was wrong in pointing out your hypocrisy, because I think that pretty much spells out exactly what you are doing and just admitted to. The problem with statistics (in this case, subscription figures) is when they start to be invoked as an argument in itself, i.e. WoW is good because it has 11 million subscribers. The application of the word "lie", therefore, is entirely figurative -- which also explains the appeal of the quote; if it had to be taken literally, the word "bad argument", or, more technically, "argumentum ad populum", would have been used.
Someone who uses the 11 million figure isn't lying, unless the 11 million figure happens to be a lie with the full knowledge of the person mentioning it. But as I said, I'm not disputing the figure; it's a waste of time to do that. But I wish I could be spared ANY mention of figures when assessing the quality of WoW or any other game, and unfortunately some guys here love to use figures to back up their love of WoW.
The numbers, in themselves, don't mean anything except in the restrictive cases mentioned above.
You have spent a fair amount of time doing exactly what you are criticising someone else for. Not to mention you have had a nasty habit of replacing fact with speculation and conjecture beyond reason. Yet I'm sure you will have another excuse or famous auther to hang out to dry.
Speculation? Conjecture? Specific examples, please.
Someone caught the original poster in a lie and you spun that as the person twisting something negative about warcraft as a lie.
Your signature does the same exact thing. It doesn't debate with merit or discuss with any other intention. It flat out calls people liars for looking at something in a positive manner, which actually has merit to it. You were free to choose anything in the entire universe to put into your signature and it was your choice to pick something that called people liars for disagreeing with your views.
That is why I pointed out your hypocracy. Feel free to wordsmith any other explanation you want, but that is not what your signature does or says and it is meaningless beyond the message it conveys. Which is the same exact thing you were chastising another poster about.
Kids play Games, adults rarely do, I'm 24 and I feel out of place at times playing MMO's.
You can't be like UGH THIS GAME SUCKS CUS KIDS PLAY IT!
You're the one who is out of your element, kids are SUPOSED to be playing video games.
I agree its frustrating when they drop group and act like selfish brats, but not all children are infact childish. I've played with some MMORPGers who are as young as 13 and they were extremely polite.
Judging ANY group by a few of its members is just flawed logic, you HAVE to play with kids, get used to it or stop playing video games that are online, since Kids like Games and Online = people to play with.
I'm sorry we're just old people in a kids store, we gotta be respectful too.
This is an old post I know but I have to say something to this poster who claims that computer games are for kids and we adults are in their territory so get used to it....every statistic and study shows that the majority of COMPUTER gamers are 25 and older. When you get into console games then 11 - 18 becomes the largest group, however, 30 and older is still a large group.
So this isn't hey I'm playing a kids game and need to accept that, If I don't want to group with children I don't have too. I am not mean to them, I just say thanks but no thanks. I am also not "a bad person" for wanting to enjoy my recreation time without dealing with children.

Don't bother with Zorndorf.
No matter what you say, he's found you guilty in advance. Your crime? You dared to say you did not like WoW. It doesn't matter to him whether you've ever liked it; the important part is that he likes it, and anyone who disagrees with him is an idiot, or a liar.
And yet the rest of this forum does absolutely nothing to denounce him, or to remind him that what he does simply goes against the game they play.
Next, he will start looking for discrepancies that aren't there between what you said the first time, and what he'll force you to repeat over and over and over again. That bickering over the level you've reached, and the innuendos that go with it? Classic Zorndorf. He doesn't even bother to try to understand what you're trying to say; what he thinks is better -- it's always better.
There is some good in WoW, but I found the hand-holding juvenile stuff with pop culture references too much to take seriously.
I have to agree with you here. The guy deliberately takes threads off-subject with his own brand of logic so instead of discussing a valid point, here we are splitting hairs about a posting history which no one cares about - except Zorndorph. Way to kill a thread mate :: thumbs up::
He stiffles discussion here at MMORPG.com poping up in every post with a negative mention of WoW like a jack-in-the-box. Not just on WoW forums either but on any that WoW might get a negative mention like WAR, etc. It's a personal affront to him and he's on a mission.
For those that don't know Zorndorf is also known as Bodypass http://www.mmorpg.com/profile.cfm/username/bodypass, Since I added him to my ignore list browsing these forums got at lot easier and certianly less frustrating. Try it, you might even be able to have an actual discussion on WoW (heaven forbid) without some nutter jumping in and hi-jacking it.
Edit: It's kind of ironic the the original post is not just about the shift in focus from group to solo play but also about the degredation of the community / lack of help, compassion, maturity, etc. when comparing now and then.

Thank you for the most entertaining thread ive read in days. Though i am inclined to believe that all the posts made here are full of bullshit, (the OP more so than others) it was very entertaining none the less.
Thanks again.

You need help.
WoW is no food? WTF? I got hungry and the CDs looked pretty yummy... now my teeth hurt. o_O
Are you european or something? You have a lot of strange expressions, resetting their PC, not restarting, ect...

Thank you for the most entertaining thread ive read in days. Though i am inclined to believe that all the posts made here are full of bullshit, (the OP more so than others) it was very entertaining none the less.
Thanks again.
