I've been playing this for 4 years and 1/2 and still going strong . Have fun,im sure you will ...and oh ignore the mindless trolls, they just jealous their game isn't doing as good as wow
I have been playing WoW since the beginning. I love and hate how WoW always drags me back after I quit. There's just no other game out there with so much polish / fluidity. Right now I'm debating about going back for the 5th time. It's fun leveling from lvl 1 and gearing up all over again but then the reality that end game gets boring fast hits me again and I quit. There's just nothing left to get me to stay very long once I hit end game...the end game is too easy and repetitive...all my good friends from back in the day quit. It's cool playing on new servers and making new friends but it just isn't the same as when I first played (MC ftw!)...no other old school players all fresh blood...'make a reference to the MC days and every player tells me "oh, I never played back then"
My hate for signatures is surpassed only by my love for irony.
Although I am quit for good at this point, I have to say that WoW was one of the best games I have ever played... and I played it for 4 years.
There is hands-down no other MMO that comes anywhere close to the level of polish and amount of content in World of Warcraft. It is definitely not for everyone, but it is highly entertaining for most!
I think the main thing the OP will notice is that famous Blizzard polish.
Blizzard knows how to make playable and intuitive UIs which are essential for good games. You see this kind of attention in games like GTA and Half-Life where you just seem to slip into playing the game rather than fighting against the game to make it do what you want.
Another aspect of that polish is attention to art and detail with the world, lots of pop-references and lots of examples that you don't need high-end graphics when you let skilled artists do their thing.
I don't play WoW anymore since I didn't like the direction the game was going, but I can't deny it was a pleasure to play on the game engine and in the setting Blizzard created, even if the content left me wanting.
