Bad Graphics? Who Cares?
I see so many people on the hype meter complaining about bad graphics, its starting to bug the hell out of me. One; I hear graphics are improving. Two; the ideas should make or brake this game not the graphics. So I want to know, how many of you, if any are going to let the graphics make or brake this game. For me its a definite NO WAY!

The makers of Wish work really hard!.. Theres people out there that has not even played Wish and there just giving this game bad views!
Bcause they see Graphics as bad...Reamber people this game has 8 more months left...So i say theres time for improvements!
Why not post them on the forms here, your likes and dislikes? This is one of the "Few" games that has people come from Wish to check out the forms!
Thats another reson i like Wish, they really care about there game!

Oh, almost forgot, graphics = of no concern. I'd like to see a company push gameplay over graphics for once- as long as it's not Wolfpack, that is.
Edit: Hmm... wonder if Dana could give us a definite yes/no on whether this is supposed to be a temporary OPEN beta.

Starting December 1st, and lasting one month will be Beta 2.0. To participate, simply fill out the form at the link above, activate your account and you will be notified when things get under way.
A note, often in MMOs, open beta means "last gasp before launch". Wish is doing things differently. To support tens of thousands of players in one game world we need to test the servers, and Beta 2.0 is NOT the final beta. In the new year we will once again go into heavy development before entering Beta 3.0, then launch.

Is it likely that some of the "graphics bashers" are only familiar with Beta 1.0 graphics? If this is the case, then they're prematurely judging the capabilities of this title. Beta 1.0 was not about graphics quality, but about the game engine and fundamental game play ideas.
The developers at Mutable Realms have done a great job with Wish, and their responsiveness to constructive criticism has been extraordinary and exempilary. The game was touted to be one of the best betas at 1.0, and that was only a sign of things to come.
Sign up for the open beta. See for yourself what Wish is all about. Don't like something? Let Mutable Realms know constructively so they can possibly do something about it for Beta 3.0. Their goal is to release a finished game when they go gold, so all well-meaning comments are welcomed.

hmm according to some beta one testers i talked to. They said one of the devs was an anal retentive bastage. WHo if you said anything negative about the game he got pissy.
As for bad graphics i doubt they will equal eq2s. Or liniage 2 for that matter. While graphics isnt the whole point to play thats all wish has to show for its game atm. So yes its a big deal.
Heres an example if i tell you im makeing the tasiest cake in the world.. Talk about it for years and then show you pictures of it and it looks like a cowpie are you gonna buy into its as good as i claim it is. Hell no.
Same can go for mmos if all i show you is crap but talk a good game its still crap only with hype.

I dont hate this game lol. Just disapointed. I will hate this game if they dont follow through with all they promise. Ill wait till dec play and see if its possible to have fun there. If not ya im takeing a sledge hammer and a blow torch to this game. Im also anti fan-boi. So ill bash on them regardless. They make games crap and fool others into beleiveing lies.

Graphics are not the deciding factor for me. Skill strategy, character development and content are the key to a grat game in my opinion. Great graphics are a nice bonus - but definitely are not what defines a great game.
He does hate this game. Him and his friend. Notice how they reistered just to de-hype and troll Wish here in particular. They haven't hyped or posted on any other mmorpg.com board to date.

Oh that's right they hate fans too. So Wish is the only one with fans? You mean you can't find zealous fans of Atriarch? Dark and Light? Darkfall? D&D Online? Everquest II? Face of Mankind? Freeworld? Guild Wars? The Matrix Online? Middle Earth Online? Mourning? MU Online? Pirates of the Burning Sea? Risk Your Life? Tabula Rasa? Vanguard: Saga of Heroes? World of Warcraft?

They are so pro pvp but yet I don't see them posting on Mourning or Darkfall's board, or any other game PvP centric.

They seem to hate lies by fans but dont mind lies as long as they are negative towards the game. Another inconsistency.
Nah, it's not consistent behavior with people who aren't holding something in particular against one game in particular.
Somewhere along the line someone upset them by a comment or something and this is their way to get back at the game. Looks like by reading their posts, they were treated roughly at some fan site and came here to flame and bash the game.
And besides, people who are disappointed don't sit there and troll and flame bait, they go find a game they would enjoy. And then hang out in that community talking about how lame the other games are.

Darkfall is vw so posting there not really worth it. { or whatever they call themselves now as there name was copyrighted and under legal stuff} Mourning is a pos. I attack there devs on pker.org. So dehypeing a game is wrong?? Hmm im just stateing what i see.
Yes i dislikede the vn boards as they patrol the messages and delete anything negative. This board allows free speech.
Trolling most of you troll these sights or you wouldnt post more than once. I will post as i see. Sorry if you all cant hack that. All i do hope is others see it and make a choice on the info shown. All wish has showing at the moment on the table is bad graphics .

Actually that's a distortion of the truth. You only posted once in the UO section and that was to pan Wish and tell people not to buy into it.
So even then and there it's obvious you showed up with one thing and one thing only on your agenda...troll Wish, discredit its devs, and flame its fans without ever having tried it. Such noble causes.
You got your feelings hurt by devs and board admin over on VN and now you're trying to bad mouth the game so much as to extract some revenge. I dont think your getting the response you had hoped for. Were you thinking "Wow, everyone will be so enlightened by my second and third hand misinformation that they'll run screaming from this game and I'll have my revenge!!", or "I'll just troll this game and people will stay away from it so I'll have my revenge!!"? Either way I dont see it panning out. But hey, good luck with it.
Well there is another lie. You obviously don't look too far yourself at the Vn boards since there are plenty of good constructive negative threads over there. Plenty. I think you keep ignoring the fact that Taag brought up in some other thread about evade accounts get their threads deleted...but that wouldnt fit your whole "nazi-conspiracy-persecution" theory.
They dont put up with trolls as much. But they dont delete anything negative like you're completely exaggerating. In fact, it's a pretty cool place (the only bad part about VN is the boards look like crap) to give input on Wish and post ideas and problems you have with Wish cause like here, the devs post and actually answer. As are most of the Wish communities. I've seen tons of people bring up things they dont like about the game and discussed in an adult manner in just about every community.

Really i hope no one buys into anything i say you say or devs say. Proofs in the pudding. Beta 2 the hands will be shown and the bluffing is done. Thats the real point. Then people will run screaming or embrace it. As of right now im not impressed with the game. I will try the beta2 just to see if my assumptions are correct or wrong. So dont go bragging on a game concept not truely proven. Thats what i bash on and the graphics and the fan-bois. But fan-bois mainly for fun.

Dont worry. I'm not buying into anything you or a dev says. I've followed too many games over the years to trust devs, fans, or trolls.
I only trust my own tastes and what I see first hand. And I know what I saw in beta 1. You saying the game has nothing to offer isnt even a blip on my radar after seeing live, consumable, story content.

I know you mentioned lineages graphics, are we talking about toon graphics? cant be landscape or world graphics because lineage really doesnt have the same depth as wish does. i could probably count the number of vegetaion models on one hand. id agree somewhat about the toon models, although I cant say theyre crap because theyre not. theyre average, although those are still being tweaked.

But you have to admit, models ARE bad! I know they are redoing them now, and they are supposed to be much better - but the fact remains, current models look really bad in comparison even to the envirinment in Wish!
Don't get me wrong, I played original UO - and loved it, so I am not an advocate of graphic intense games, but I still want something I won't be horrified to look at. You post screenshots to showcase the graphics, and as of yet the only screenshots that should've been on Wishes site are environment screens.
And yes, I am eagerly waiting for Wish to come out. And no, I am not playing to play EQ2
We acknolwedge our player models were not up to snuff. Let me quote our company President in a recent post on the VNBoards:
"One such decision was that we redo all our existing character models before we add any new models. I believe this was a good decision, as our old character models were sub-standard.
Note that I said "redo", not "polish" or "improve". Our new character models have been built from scratch, with new modeling techniques, lighting, morphing, etc. I am sure you will be pleased with the results."
All five races (human, elf, dwarf, gnome and cyclops) will be redone from scratch. The remaining two races (dragonkin and imp) that were never in a beta, will also be done in this new style. As a result of our decision to redo the old before redoing the new, you will have to wait until beta 3 for the dragonkin and imp.

Thank you for this clarification! always nice to know that developers are listening to the suggestions. I hope the new models will match the environment in Wish for an all around pleasant experience
So the question remains, will those new models be available in December Beta? (or am I asking for too much too soon?
)
It is our goal to have the male/female versions of the five races I listed in beta 2.0. I wont give you an absolute promise that all ten models will be ready, but we will try
