Meh - I figured it would be deleted based solely on the content of the OP. I actually have the orignal thread from the official boards copied to a MS World document. It's an interesting read. The thread was interesting, too. The end result, after all the bickering, is that whether or not Dr34d0g actually uses cheat programs or not, he was proven to be a liar and a exploiter.

P.S. My only regret is that I put a lot of thought and effort into my posts only to see them deleted.
i didn't get any message from a moderator, if it was all about the flaming in the end it should have been locked, or how do the mods here on mmorpg.com handle such stuff?
yes, it's NOT cool.
maybe a mod could tell us why by any chance?

There was nothing in the thread that would warrant it being deleted. Perhaps some editing and possibly a lock. A delete? Not by a long-shot. Someone was just trying to save some face...
I've written to admin to get deleted threads put back up before when they were deleted instead of locked. For anyone who posted some threads that think the thread should not have been deleted... send them a message.
The mods here at mmorpg.com are hit and miss sometimes, but the hired staff above them are pretty reasonable, and they'll look into it if you are civil in your request.
I don't think hackers last much more than a few weeks in DF, since they check their logs and nail them. From accounts that I've heard people who briefly use hacks find their accounts banned weeks later. Players like DFOhacker have a very short life span, instead of hanging out at the goblin camps and burning out there, they zoom around with hacks until they get banned.
At most DFO hacker implicated the major guilds on exploiting. There's a reason why Dread Og and the players in the major guilds aren't banned and won't be, this guy was badly confused. Surely they'll check their logs and ban King Konag for hacking if this guy knew what he was talking about. If you have to be inside a wall for it to be an exploit than according to Aventurine Dread Og was not exploiting and nothing I read from him was a lie.
Personally some of the criteria players have for exploiting is laughable. Some companies also have boneheaded policies when it comes to exploiting but it doesn't sound like Aventurine is one of them. In AoC if you used the space bar key to jump up on easily accessible terrain, that was considered terrain exploiting instead of tactical thinking. If you used terrain to get away from mobs, that was glitching their pathfinding AI because you were suppose to know that you have to run until they stop chasing instead of climbing away. Even in AC some people thought if you moved while casting that was exploiting. Some players just need to stick with Everquest where they stand in the open and go blow to blow with mobs.
Ahh, so now we're back to D0g's brother posting about him instead of him posting about himself? Exploits are all about using existing game mechanics in ways that weren't intended, eren't by design in order to minimize risk and maximize rewards. As I said before, there are differences between using tactics and using exploits. In Darkfall, you're allowed to use terrain to your advantage. An example of legitimate tactics would be using rocks and trees to block shots from mob, split pulls, etc... Hitting mobs risk free from areas the mobs can't reach (through pathing, bugs or because it's outside their radius) is exploiting, as far as I'm concerned.
Regardless, Dr34d0g admitting in his own video to logging out so that he couldn't be killed. Per Aventurine, in their patch notes, that's an exploit. So, Dr34d0g admitting to exploiting and Aventurine had to patch the game to address the specific exploit he was using.
As to the reason he's not banned, it's much more likely it's due to Aventurine's poor management, support and service and probably because they'd lose a huge chunk of their already small player base. They're amateurs, plain and simple. As it is, the developer for the main cheat application has proof he has (or had) over 600 DF customers, but Tasos said AVenturine identified 236 as 100% of all the 3rd party cheaters at that time.

on topic: yes I feel the same. editing would have been appropriate in my eyes as well, but what I feel appropriate and what a moderator feels difuses a possible dilema are two completey different things. either way I support the decision, as this thread will most likely get dropped as well.
bottom line here is this.
DF has a swiss cheese foundation, yes full of holes. there are players that are exploiting, hacking, gliching and getting away with it. Will it last for the life of the game.. probably not. BUT it will EFFECT the games growth in the short term, especially when its most needed. There is alot of work that needs to be done and a good amount of policing that needs to be acted upon. This is not the publicty DF needs but it IS the information that new players and old alike should be in the know about. its up to the player to make thier own choice based on relevent information pertaining to an environment THEY pay for.

That is only 600 clients from one of the major cheat sites, and some of those accounts are probably owned by the same people as the hacks only work per one computer. Yes, you can run through the same IP if you use VMWare, but it spikes your ping so high you can't move your characters. This number was also before the shop was opened multiple times, so there's more than that now.
Every time the shop is opened, new hackers poor in to the game, much of them being "stupid" hackers. The ones who hack obviously and without regard. That's why every time the shop is opened, you see the posts of more hackers starting to show up on the main forum.
Use hacks and I guarantee you won't last long in this game. I'd like to be proven wrong though. The 213 number represents the number of hackers banned in one batch, not the total number of hackers banned . So I doubt many if anyone is getting away with hacking. I'd really like someone to prove that someone is hacking and benefiting from it, which DFOhacker failed to do and he was wrong about the major guilds he implicated. So they exploited mobs which everyone already knew.
As for Dread Og exploiting because he said he logged out from fights, that's a stretch. That at most is a cheap tactic and I'd like to see where Averturine defined that as an exploit. I know at one point some guild tried bindstone camping him, so instead of crying about getting griefed, he logged off and on all the way to their city where he preceded to raise to hell. That's the mindset difference between a carebear and a hardcore pvper.
And Konag does not = Dread Og, he's my brother and I don't blame him at all for using my account instead of registering a new one. He clearly announced who it was that was posting.

I'm sure both of dreads characters have been falsely reported for hacking at this point, so I'm sure they'll check their log and will ban them. Yet this won't happen because you guys are dead wrong. I personally didn't like darkfall and thought it was a bad game, so I'm hardly a fan boy and found DFOhackers account misinformed and inaccurate.

So, you'd like to see hacks used successfully and undetected in Darkfall? Classy. Unfortunately, it's more true than not. While the 213 banned was in one batch, per Tasos it represented 90% of all hackers in the game at that time. He also said "we recognize some of the people from the boards habitually accusing the company for not doing anything and complaining that cheating is rampant in Darkfall, when in reality it’s not." His post is clearly meant to emphasize how good Aventurine is at identifying cheaters and to reassure gamers that cheating isn't rampant in Darkfall. As I've pointed out in previous posts, that's bull, since just the one cheat site boasts over 600 members and there are two major cheat packages that I'm aware of. While Aventurine has banned from the beginning, according to a number of posts from Tasos, even prior to the mass banning, they really don't have as good a handle on it as they would lead us to believe. 3rd party cheating is much more prevalent than Tasos has stated. The reality, however, is that all but the most stupid of the 3rd party cheaters use cheats that aren't visibly noticeable to the main population, as pointed out by DFOHaxor. Of course, that shouldn't need to be pointed out, because it's common sense. Why would cheaters who pay for both accounts and cheats want to get caught?
"As for Dread Og exploiting because he said he logged out from fights, that's a stretch." - It's not a stretch. It's an exploit and one that's been used before in other games. Is that my opinion? No. It's fact. Per the March 27th patch notes, "Players logging out in the middle of combat exploits have been fixed". I linked it before, in the thread that was deleted, so I had to link it again. You can't spin it. It's an exploit, he admitted doing. He said "I don't fucking die in video games". More so, he said the only time he's died in Darkfall was when you "got his ass killed". It doesn't have anything to do with the lame justification you're promoting. The developers had to patch the game because the exploit, used by cheaters like Dread OG, was so prevalent. It's game breaking, especially in a competitive FFA Loot PvP game like DFO. After all, if everybody just cheats and logs out in the middle of battle, there's no reason to fight. It renders one of the few main attractions of the game, FFA Loot, moot.
He only "clearly announced" that he was a different person from you after he'd been called out on all his bullshit. He did say he was Dread OG relatively early in the thread, but we all assumed he was, anyway, your first post. There wasn't wasn't any explicit indication that two people were using the account until much later. After he recommended I "research" him, I proved all my points using his own video against him. He's a liar and a cheat. In the last thread he denied exploiting, but he clearly boasts of using an exploit in his video.
The mindset between a carebear and hardcore PvPer? Seriously? How hardcore is a kid calling himself "O G"? How hardcore is it to log out because he's afraid of being killed and looted in a FFA full loot PvP game? He's just a poseur with delusions of grandeur, nothing more.
"So, you'd like to see hacks used successfully and undetected in Darkfall? Classy."
I'd like to be proven wrong on the information that I've gathered, since I keep an open mind. I'm not sure where you got that, maybe it has to do with the reading comprehension dread was talking about. All DFOhacker has proven is that you can use hacks and get banned. He was wrong about much of his post. That one cheat site boasting 600 members sounds like the main source for hackers and most of those who have used hacks in game have likely been nailed, about one third in one batch. Those 213 banned could have easily been 90% of the active hackers at the time.
I don't believe Dread has actually logged from combat besides the situation I described. Dreads vlogs are mainly done for entertainment and to get people riled up. I know a logout timer had been in place long before those patch notes so they were most likely referring to people pulling their modems to disappear instantly, or a similar trick. I know I had tried to log out from people chasing me but failed trying because of the log out timer.
As for #3 he announced that on the third post when he started posting. In my first post I said he was using my account to macro/mule which clearly indicated that I was not dread og.
As for #4 Og was the name of a popular template in AC. The mindset difference is important because your typical carebear would have sat at the bindstone and allowed themselves to be victimized and cried foul for griefing, instead Dread Og turned the tables on them. Was it technically exploiting? Possibly. I just don't view that in the same light as you do.
I have to say, that I played AC1, and started playing MMOs with UO. I haven't ever heard of Dreadog or whatever the heck his name is until a couple months ago.
I knew immediately he was a troll, he HAS to be joking, just so he can sit back and laugh at us.
He claims he invented jump firing.
Yes, the dude claims he invented running away from his target, jumping, turning real fast, and firing his weapon, then turning back again to run.

Sigh, obvious troll is obvious. DF must be his first FPS...
LMAO, unless he played original Quake deathmatch (not going to go back to the DOOM/DOOM2 days, ya couldn't jump), he didn't invent squat. Is he even that old?
In fact, the jump/reverse/shoot/reverse back was one of my favorite moves when playing the original Team Fortress matches as a Spy. Date that, biotches!!
Dread oG a troll? Heck, I dunno. Haven't really decided if he is serious or not. But DAMN!!! it's funny stuff.
Edit: Heheh, sorry, just the Grey Goose talking/typing...

Hey guys... go easy on these "brothers".
Remember they are children yet, so a bit of immaturity is to be expected.
Who knows; in another 10-20 years they might be the ones scolding the new batch of children on MMOs.
For the record... dr34d 0g is an exploiter/cheater by his own words and videos. Whether or not he is a hacker as well is really moot.
