Think full rag-doll motion control of your character.   That is how much control these controllers will be bring to us players.   Just watched a demo of the guy fighting with a sword and then using a bow in a virtual setting.   You could see his character mimicing his movements...from drawing an arrow from his quiver to knock it and then aiming and pulling back the string and firing at an moving target - an orc like creature.   Way awesome!

You'll have to wait until the info is posted up on the web.   They are doing this live at E3 now.  :)

    1) It looks like someone stole Rudolf the Red-Nosed Rheindeer's nose and stuck it on the end of a stick, calling it the Sony Virtual Game Controller.

    2) How is this so amazing? I think Project Natal from Microsoft is a far more revolutionary concept. This is just basically the Wii motion controller with upgrades.

I would agree Natal looked alot better, but I doubt we will see Natal for some time.

Not saying it wasn't cool, but well Project NATAL has the WIN for me on motion control mainly due to the MILO demo not sure if the type of games I play are suited for Project NATAL, would kinda look wierd playing Cod or any other heavy action packed game......of course that is if it turns out what it supose to be......, the Sony take does look better suited for overall gaming control as we know gaming now, though Project NATAL might go beyong gaming as we know now.

Its amazing because of the amount of control you are given with this type of controller.   Did you see the control they had of the character?   I did not see that with NATAL.  Not that kind of control.

Wii also has one of these type of things coming out from Ubisoft.  It's a fitness type thing, though.  And will be out this christmas, but I agree with previous posters that the Natal looks the best so far.

Did you see they could only do "handmovement" with Sony,  did you see Project Natal?, your whole body can be the controler, might be somewhat wierd, but it has far more control on about everything, where Sony's takes is sort of limited compared to what Natal showed. Nevertheless pretty cool.

I do not see how NATAL will work for games like COD, BF2 and MMORPG type game play...maybe you can explain.   I think the Virtual Motion Controller from Sony is better suited to FPS's and MMORPG's.

    LOL ok...

NATAL is cool, I just don't know how it would work in a game like COD or BF2 - if it can..I am there.   I can get a workout without having to go to the gym!  :p

I'm talking about motion sensing in general here, not just Sonys version. It is an amazing concept, and could work brilliantly if an MMORPG is made around it.

    However, I will say this.

Don't expect it anytime soon. MMO developers are becoming lazier at the momant, which I call "sell outs", nobody is really being innovative. Most MMO deevlopers don't even want to create persistant worlds, infact, as far as innovation, this genre is going backwards.

Persistant worlds - Most MMOs being madenowadays, don't even have this.

Player politics - Nope, new MMOs have done away with this too. Who you kill depends on what character they picked when they started the game.

Real economy - Nope. Items last forever, don't eventually break with use. And most decant items in new games are even bound to your character, so you can't trade it anyway.

Heck, if an MMOs today can't even do what the genre is supposed to fucking do, how are we going to go about adding this whole new peice of technology to the genre?

Sadly, no way will it be happening any time soon. :(

Always hating on instances in MMOs! Open worlds, open PvP, territory control and housing please. More persistence, more fun.

I can't help but giggle slightly at the thought of an MMO being played with a full-body control interface.

Should I start learning kung fu now?

Hopefully, the NATAL and Sony presentations will get reposted somewhere soon; I wanna see what all the fuss is about.

yea I kind of noticed the same thing too.  Sony's thing seem to give alot more precision in the hands but not much else while microsoft gave full body movement with no controller but the precision in motion seemed comparable with the Wii motion plus.  I guess who ever can combine the the best parts of Natal and sony's motion controller (wand?) will win this battle.

To be honost not looking at Natal towards games like Cod, think I will continue to prefure mouse/keyboard, even think I am not totaly into the whole motion capture thing for those type of games similar to Cod/Farcry/BF/Crysis...etc..etc.., but do see possibilty more for Natal then the Sony controller in terms of other genre of games, maybe even totaly new genre's, but even for known genre's like RPG's I see plenty of more possibility's with something like NATAL then something to really swing with around in the room, for certain sports games it sure can be fun, if Natal can deliver it seems to be so much more in depth to creat a intence gaming experiance if something like Milo actualy can be made into a form of entertainment rather then just a tech-demo. The Sony take FOR ME is more suited towards games I already see with the WII and those controlers are fine for games on the WII, not seeing it for MMORPG, but I am sure lots of people would like it to virtualy swing a sword in let say LotrO.

I agree.. and this is the reason why WoW is the "king" of mmos with no doubt , no one even creates a mmo with world compared to it so what do you expect?

World of Warcraft is a proof that MMORPG quality should affect schedule/budget and not the other way around.

OMG I know.  Sad isn't it.  This genre is dying and a lot people don't even see it.   Slowly but surely we're loosing our MMORPG's.

First off, both natal and the PS3 controller use camera sensors. So in fact, they are one in the same. The only difference is you have a controller with the PS3, you won't with natal, which could be good or bad.

Presentation wise, Microsofts stage looked better, but other than Natal, nothing was really great about the conference for them. Sony on the other hand showed titles I'm waiting on and plenty of them. I like Sony for there content, so I think they had the better conference. As they clearly stated, they are more about content than anything. Where Microsoft allowed you to imagine, Sony allowed you to expereince. But yeah, Natal will be good. I'm just loving Sony a little bit more with the amount of good games they showed off. Nintendo on the other hand, I feel asleep during. I'm almost sad I even tried to watch it, it was that boring.

Natal i personally feel is better just from what i seen, whole body controlling compared to Sony's...i think that would be awesome for mmo gaming, but tiring lol...perhaps they can add like force feedback to the Natal project so you feel the bossfights your in >.>
