RanlifRanlif Member Posts: 3

Been scouring the internet but thought I would ask, is there still no windows 7 32 bit game guard fix?

If you weren't necroing month old threads, maybe you'd know that the AION Gameguard ( both 32 and 64 bit ) was officially patched by NCsoft already.

Thanks for your help. The true culprit is "CrySystem.dll" -- any info on fixing that error?

As far as I know, all the errors were patched in the last beta stage. I'm not in the beta, so I don't know if anyone has been having any exceptions. Have you tried the NCsoft AION beta boards?

I'm trying a number of different forums at the moment, actually. Still no luck though.

    What's the exact "crysytem.dll" error you're getting?

  • ElladrielElladriel Member Posts: 39

    "error performing inpage operation"

I could be completey wrong here, but that DLL file sounds like it's related to the CryEngine, not Game Guard.

theres 2 problems, windows 7 is still a turd beta, and youre using 32 bit instead of 64 bit, 32 bit is so 1999, get  with the times and go 64 already =p

Yeah, I think gameguard isn't the issue.

Supposedly some of the issues related to this error have been addressed with the most recent US patch. Try the game tomorrow to see if it will let you play.

If you're playing on the Chinese version.. well.. I have nothing for you then.

The problem is not being able to open the game. (Also this is my girlfriend's problem, not mine - I use XP and it's flawless). I've updated to tomorrow's patch already and I can open the game client and see the login screen.

She can open the launcher, but when she tries to run Aion she gets the error. Since all the patches for tomorrow have been downloaded and installed already...will there really be a difference trying it tomorrow, even just to get to the login screen?

Going to simplify my answer so it's easier to read and makes sense. Basically, something in the game code is causing the  crysystem.dll to not be readable by the computer, therefore it's triggering the "inpage operation" error because the computer thinks there's a harddrive problem.

Due to the extra security written into Windows 7, it's likely that the devs missed programming in one or two permissions.

Edit: Yes, there is a new AION patch scheduled to be released, so maybe wait 'til after that.

Sorry, can't seem to find anything.  The only thing I found was this which is a translation of a Chinese website discussing the error.  The only resolution mentioned is to reinstall the game.

She is currently copying it over to her desktop which while older, runs on XP...so maybe there will be some luck there. I'll be back :P

Nonsense.... if you knew how 64bit OS worked with 32bit applications you wouldnt of said this.

Windows 7 like Vista is a steaming pile of horse shit like every other OS out there.  There is no godly ultimate OS.  2ndly anyone who thinks 64bit OS's are needed are morons.  Yes you need more then 4 gigs of ram to operate games that generally these days need 512/2gigs.

    Here is the solution:

    Upgrade to XP.

    Fixed.

As a side effect, you will get 512 MB more free ram. Since Windows 7 needs  640MB  with not programs loaded. And XP needs 64 MB with not programs loaded  ( Windows 7 is bloated).

I'm currently using Windows 7 (64bit version) and Aion runs just fine without any glitches. I would really try and uninstall the game, go to your Program Files and make sure everything has been removed and reinstall it using the patcher.

Also upgrade your Graphic Drivers, I know this is all very basic and you probably tried it but sometimes it tends to work.

If your running 32 bit Win 7 you must have an old Proccy or something.   Im running 64 bit and its smooth as butter.

Yeah, my Geforce 295 GTX just loves Directx 9! Who the hell needs Directx10 or the upcoming Directx11 ???

In all seriousness, if you want to play games like Crysis in their full glory, you're going to have to move away from windows XP.

Also note that I have 6 gigs of ram and 500-600 mb of ram usage during an idle state, is nothing for me.

Funny, since as of right now I have a memory usage of 535mb while typing this, so you're off by over 100mb. And that's with 32bit.

7 is better than XP and Vista combined. Sorry to say MS didn't screw up this time. But you stick with XP or Visuck.

Most people have 2gb or more ram nowdays, by the way.

Edit: Oh, already pre-ordered my copy. For only $49, how could I resist?
