SL is a sandbox by the simple fact that EVERYTHING is user created. Linden Labs provides the client tools, but it is up to the user to create everything for their sim, right down to terraforming the land. And not only can you create anything you can imagine, every object created in SL can be scripted. The API is extremely robust and tha language is so simple to learn that non-programmers can be really successful at it. Not onlt can you create whatever you wish, you can pretty much make it behave in any way you wish.
Same thing goes for character creation. A "avatar" is made up of hair, eyes, shape, and skin and can be adorned with layers; shirt, pants, jacket, socks, skirt, underpants, undershirt. You can use these layers for much more then

that was not trolling -it was a fair question. In EVE I had a miner who trained up and became a fighter. Most, not all, themepark games do not let you do things like that - A druid is a druid and a fighter is a fighter. There are some themepark games that let you cross train to some extent - I believe DDO did that.
I liked the chart shown in a previous post that listed games on a scale of how themepark/sandbox they were - few games are at the extremes of said scale.
Well, a druid can be a tank, damage dealer and healer - that is why I mentioned these classes.
I didn´t mean the different ships or skills though. I believe, my toon in EVE is one of the biggest "gimps", because of learning skills into many different directions - as some one said "wanna test it all".
What I don´t like in DAoC and what I don´t like in EVE, is the heavy use of multiple accounts.
In DAoC because of "buffbots", because they strengthened the main avatar insanely,
in EVE because they turn the sandbox feeling into a class based game.

a druid can tank or whatever but cannot learn the skills of a tank class(in most themepark games).. a miner in eve can learn fighter skills. I never said a druid could not tank - I said for the most part he cannot learn "tank" skills. When you have classes the skills are usually restricted to those of your class. This is not true in EVE. I am not saying that a miner who later trains fighter skills in EVE is as good as a pure fighter but one can train skills outside of one's expertise - there are no true classes in EVE - only directions of expertise.
Also - if you do not like EVE don't play it, but do not say it is not a good game because you do not like it. I hate WoW but I never say it is a bad game. I just don't like it - it seems infantile to me, but that is my opinion, others love it.

They could have been in a couple of Vegabonds and you will still have died without being perma jammed. it's still the cruiser hull but without ewar. You lost because you were out numbered. Plan and simple.
