What he essentially says is: "DF is perfect for me already". That is his last line of defence, and yes that being an opinion cannot be proven wrong. Which means, everything else he says is wrong, he knows its wrong and he is falling back to his line line of defence.

However, when I (and I suspect certain others here) post responses to folks like him, it's not necessarily for their benefit... But for others whom might come across their posts, see what they say and not know how much of what they say is spin and/or flat out lies.

Funny how when all that hype was going on, the rabid fans around here were gloating, hooting, hollaring and bragging about how DF was going to be huge because of how popular it was; how it was the #1 hyped game on mmorpg.com, etc. etc... When others said it didn't mean anything, the rabid fans insisted it did and that the "trolls" and "haters" were just afraid of how well it would do. I remember such comments being made several times across several threads.
Now all of a sudden (after the fact, of course... gotta love hind-sight), it's great that AV ignored that hype. It's been pretty well-known for a while now that it was a financial issue that prevented AV from having more servers.

Yes, I've read those posts. Time and again, your "wall of green" has been exposed as being mostly a combination of you spinning, dismissing supporting facts and details, ignoring direct quotes from Tasos/AV, making things up and, of course, stating your own opinions as facts.
Just *one* example of one of your preferred tactics: Someone points out a missing feature that was hyped by Tasos/AV. You respond by with (to paraphrase) "well, I don't think that feature is important, so it's not missing to me and the game is complete".
This is why I said to get over yourself, and included a clarification that what *you* personally do or don't want doesn't change the fact that much of what Tasos/AV hyped for months, even years, prior to its "launch", was not in there at "launch". Personal housing ? i dislike, but clans owning a group of houses like in villages is exciting,isn 't it ?

Doesn't sound like what I would consider an expansion. It's more like a massive patch fixing the many problems and things the game lacks.

Without sounding overly defensive, I'd just like to comment on the "this isn't an expansion, just a big patch":
I don't see why they wouldn't call it an expansion. Adding a new land mass and making some new raid instances for WoW, from pre-existing knowledge doesn't qualify any better. I'm not saying Darkfall's expansion is bigger or better than WoW's (just an example here) are, but the fact that it's free makes a big factor. Player housing, weather system, this new village system and much more, regardless of the fact that some of it was promised for launch (they did say player housing was cut before release though), is expansion content for sure.
Because an EXPANSION is something that extends the gaming landmass or surface... with added content.
If you don't add land, then it's not expanding anything, it's just a game update or patch. Tasos thinks because it tied to opening a NA server, they are expanding the game... lol
It's just him playing word games. Everquest, DAOC, Vanguard, etc.. all have had major patches with incredibly way more content and changes... none of those were expansions.
This is just Darkfall's first major update... and Tasos being so QQ, had to name it "expansion" because he knows what a real expansion is and the headlines will get peoples attention. The guy should be tared & feathered and paraded around like the crook he is. Tasos Flambouras is a rotten, low down parasite. He has no honor or even respct for his family name.

No, that's whan YOU think an expansion is. Expansion is expanding the GAME, not land mass. Creating new land mass isn't that huge work, they could do it they wanted to / needed to. But the thing is they don't need to, the world is big enough already, and these added features fit into the existing land mass already.
Damn, I don't get how people WANT added land mass when there's no need for it. In WoW's case, when they add new land, it means all the old areas are basicly deserted. Is that good? No. Ofcourse new land mass is needed for many cases, when new content doesn't fit (size wise or lore wise) in the old areas, that's not the case for Darkfall.
I mean, I'm not saying this is The Expansion when compared to many other games. But it's FREE, and it adds a great deal of content to the game, EXPANDING the gaming experience, why wouldn't they call it an expansion?
If they add a new island and place a 34,90€ price tag to the update, will it then validate as expansion for you guys? No, then it would be "ripoff" in your opinnion, saying it should be free, and why add new land mass when the world is huge already, etc, etc.

I have been through countless (thousands) of patches and easily 30+ expansions over the last 13 years. For Tasos Flambouras to call this an "expansion" is just another example of his desperation and lies. It's not ehtical to call this an "expansion"... everyone knows this, but Tasos doesn't care, because he is 100% about the money and revenue it will generate...
Because Darkfall is on it's deathbed and a "game update" is not as flashy as "expansion". The guy is a Class-A scoundrel and should be put in jail for unethical practices.
My advice for anyone who plays DF...come over to the official forums, there are a few good discussions going on at the moment about the patch/update ( who really gives a shit what it's called other than people that dont like the game, but just can't seem to drag themselves away ) and what has actually changed. Present players that havent got home to try it yet will find it quite interesting.

whith the description they give from them, they would change the core of the game. An alliance could create a web of portals linking they cities, so no more risk travelling, no more baiting them attacking one city and the the big group attacking other, and so on
So they nerfed crafting so where you crafted items come out as shit like drops....wow thats fail.
the mobs HP was nerfed but item drops as stated in the....ahem...."expansion featurs list" was not increased at all and remains the same, and to top this off, mounted attacks were nerfed by large numbers, up to 50%, and overall weapon damage was nerfed, and in this feature list they stated, beginger and lower tier weapons would do significantly less damage, while higher tier weapons would do slightly more.....FAIL.
I was hoping for them to pull through and have the fixes in but sounds to me like while there are highlist like sithras, mounts, some treasure randomly placed and new items, along with villages... the PVE is still trash and zerging has not been fixed. I think this fish is dead in the water.
But you were the person saying they didn't want houses and were glad they were left out at release, you also said you were glad the PVE was pointless and also thew person saying PVP anywhere was what you loved.
Well, player housaes are in, PVE has been improved and with portals PVP anywhere has suffered too.
How can you do such a 180 degree turnaround and still go on about how great the game is, when the game has introduced so many things you were strongly against a month ago?
Hopefully for the hardcore PvP focused fans of DarkFall that we've been hearing is what DarkFall is all about the new village system will initiate a lot of new PvP.
Otherwise I'm failing to see much PvP focus in this "expansion".
The most probable answer is that the PvP didn't need anything else though, so that is why they "listened to their customers" and mainly focused on PvE.
Hmm ok, well now i am going to explain it to you Darkfall is inferior in your opinion and many others. In my opinion and many others it is far better quality than most other premium games out at this moment. Come on it is not difficult to grasp that DF is a a supperior product and that other class A titles can't compete with it.

Yes, I've read those posts. Time and again, your "wall of green" has been exposed as being mostly a combination of you spinning, dismissing supporting facts and details, ignoring direct quotes from Tasos/AV, making things up and, of course, stating your own opinions as facts.
Just *one* example of one of your preferred tactics: Someone points out a missing feature that was hyped by Tasos/AV. You respond by with (to paraphrase) "well, I don't think that feature is important, so it's not missing to me and the game is complete".
This is why I said to get over yourself, and included a clarification that what *you* personally do or don't want doesn't change the fact that much of what Tasos/AV hyped for months, even years, prior to its "launch", was not in there at "launch". Your personal opinion about missing content doesn't change the fact that it's missing. Of course, you conveniently ignored that.

Because an EXPANSION is something that extends the gaming landmass or surface... with added content.
If you don't add land, then it's not expanding anything, it's just a game update or patch. Tasos thinks because it tied to opening a NA server, they are expanding the game... lol
It's just him playing word games. Everquest, DAOC, Vanguard, etc.. all have had major patches with incredibly way more content and changes... none of those were expansions.

This is just Darkfall's first major update... and Tasos being so QQ, had to name it "expansion" because he knows what a real expansion is and the headlines will get peoples attention. No, that's whan YOU think an expansion is. Expansion is expanding the GAME, not land mass. Creating new land mass isn't that huge work, they could do it they wanted to / needed to. But the thing is they don't need to, the world is big enough already, and these added features fit into the existing land mass already.
Damn, I don't get how people WANT added land mass when there's no need for it. In WoW's case, when they add new land, it means all the old areas are basicly deserted. Is that good? No. Ofcourse new land mass is needed for many cases, when new content doesn't fit (size wise or lore wise) in the old areas, that's not the case for Darkfall.
I mean, I'm not saying this is The Expansion when compared to many other games. But it's FREE, and it adds a great deal of content to the game, EXPANDING the gaming experience, why wouldn't they call it an expansion?
If they add a new island and place a 34,90€ price tag to the update, will it then validate as expansion for you guys? No, then it would be "ripoff" in your opinnion, saying it should be free, and why add new land mass when the world is huge already, etc, etc.
No matter how much you want it to be, the simple fact of the matter is, this is nothing other than a game update and a patch!
I have been through countless (thousands) of patches and easily 30+ expansions over the last 13 years. For Tasos Flambouras to call this an "expansion" is just another example of his desperation and lies. It's not ehtical to call this an "expansion"... everyone knows this, but Tasos doesn't care, because he is 100% about the money and revenue it will generate...
Because Darkfall is on it's deathbed and a "game update" is not as flashy as "expansion". The guy is a Class-A scoundrel and should be put in jail for unethical practices.

My advice for anyone who plays DF...come over to the official forums, there are a few good discussions going on at the moment about the patch/update ( who really gives a shit what it's called other than people that dont like the game, but just can't seem to drag themselves away ) and what has actually changed. Present players that havent got home to try it yet will find it quite interesting.
Heck even the trolls might find something to squirm about over there too

None of those warrant being considered an 'expansion'. I don't see any new content (new land, new races). The addition of personal houses is the only significant thing.

whith the description they give from them, they would change the core of the game. An alliance could create a web of portals linking they cities, so no more risk travelling, no more baiting them attacking one city and the the big group attacking other, and so on

So they nerfed crafting so where you crafted items come out as shit like drops....wow thats fail.
the mobs HP was nerfed but item drops as stated in the....ahem...."expansion featurs list" was not increased at all and remains the same, and to top this off, mounted attacks were nerfed by large numbers, up to 50%, and overall weapon damage was nerfed, and in this feature list they stated, beginger and lower tier weapons would do significantly less damage, while higher tier weapons would do slightly more.....FAIL.
I was hoping for them to pull through and have the fixes in but sounds to me like while there are highlist like sithras, mounts, some treasure randomly placed and new items, along with villages... the PVE is still trash and zerging has not been fixed. I think this fish is dead in the water.
But you were the person saying they didn't want houses and were glad they were left out at release, you also said you were glad the PVE was pointless and also thew person saying PVP anywhere was what you loved.
Well, player housaes are in, PVE has been improved and with portals PVP anywhere has suffered too.
How can you do such a 180 degree turnaround and still go on about how great the game is, when the game has introduced so many things you were strongly against a month ago?

Hopefully for the hardcore PvP focused fans of DarkFall that we've been hearing is what DarkFall is all about the new village system will initiate a lot of new PvP.
Otherwise I'm failing to see much PvP focus in this "expansion".
The most probable answer is that the PvP didn't need anything else though, so that is why they "listened to their customers" and mainly focused on PvE.

Darkfall is inferior in your opinion and many others. In my opinion and many others it is far better quality than most other premium games out at this moment. Come on it is not difficult to grasp that DF is a a supperior product and that other class A titles can't compete with it.
Now i have explained this to you, you should be able to understand and should no longer doubt anything we say in our love for Darkfall.
