can fighter archtpye solo decently? So far is most of your equipment bought from npcs , or through quests , or from drops?

With a steady flow of exp in a full group how long do you think it would take to go from level 1-20 lets say you have an imaginary group that never logs off and the exp is always flowing how long would it take around?

Or how long do levels take in general? i hear questing for exp is actually faster then just grinding.

Is getting around from PLace X to place Y fast? or do you have to do some long walks occasionaly?

The question that is age old, will my system be able to handle EQII?

lemme clear this up..DO NOT GO OUT AND SPEND 2000 BUCKS!!

look at my system (in my siggy) runs it perfectly smooth!

sure there are some servers that lag, but as with all mmo's, when you zone into a new server for the first time you're gonna get a little lag

it clears up after around 30 seconds, and you're free to roam about!

I experience almost no lag..virtually no lag!

    and my system isn't high end! heck, I'm running a 2500 +

so the answer is yes, you will be able to run it as long as you have atleast 512k cache on your cpu, a graphics card that supports dx 9.0c and atleast 512mb ram.

save your money guys..with the same money you can get double the power in less than 6 monthsimage

Can we see a modern image from the game with the UI?

I'll read what others ask as they know better but I'd like to see a modern image of the game please.

Well it really matters on what level you are.

when you are around level 10, most of your equipment is from quests, after that you start getting some of it from quests, and some from merchants

but merchants in different spots tend to rip you off greatly from your hometown..trust me on this one.

and the fighter can solo amazingly easy, but grouping just makes it so much easier

the only thing is, if you're in trouble, you have to "call for help" that means that anyone can attack the mob, but you won't get exp

your best bet is to click sprint, call for help, and run towards a guard.

a group that never logs off? well you would be there in a very short time!

you can get to 8 in one day without this uber group you speak of...so 20 I would say 3 days with the group

a week without it. (and that's depending on you don't spend most of your time looking around cities, but actually hunting)

    DO QUESTS!

there are quests that give you up to 4 yellow bubbles, and all you have to do is like kill 10 mobs, lol

matters on palce x to y, you walk fairly fast, (i mean run also) but there's a skill called sprint

and it runs till your mana is gone, so a fairly long time...

and it doesn't take that long, unless you're in a big city

you hvae maps too..just so you know.

I have tried to take screenshots for you guys just recently

the thing is..EQII was so prepared for NDA violaters, that when you click print screen the game shuts down

lol..so there's some secret button for screenshots, but rest assured..i will find it one day!

    sweet~

    okay...

what kind of AI do monsters have... do they travel in groups and such?... what about "Hate" is it the typical stuff like L2 and such...

kind of a vague question but... combat... tell me about it o_0;;...

since i've never played the original EQ im not exactly sure how this works but... how is the world set up... does it have specific "zones" that load up as you go through designated gateways like CoH, or is it a seamless kind of loading like L2

what kind of stat/skill system do they use?... level based?... skill based?... i've never played Eq so i wouldnt really know =/

thats about it for now... most of these are probably answered somewhere else already but... meh...

    1) is the feel still like EQ1?  meaning is the emphasis still loot?  is the PvE difficult and challenging?  And are the grouping mechanics pretty much the same?(where your taught aggro control, and if you dont know it you die)
    2) how well done is the game at this point?  Is it further than WoW is?  or can we expect the same old premature release and then add content after release?
    3) What is the most fun thing you have experienced in the game so far?
    4) what has been the most annoying?
    5) What systems are you running it on, and how much lag/choppy'ness/crashes are you experiencing?

Thats it for now, i'll add more questions if i think of any :)

well the aggro thing plays on what I said earlier

but monsters that WILL aggro have their names double outlined, so you know to stay away from them

and the color of their name shows their con, so you really don't even have to click on them..just look

and no, the loot is completley different

first off, if you're in a group most of the time your gorup chooses lotto

which means whenever there is loot to be looted, you pull a ticket for the lotto

and someone wins it automatically, it's like autosplit, except not biased (like L2 would give it to the same guy 4 times)

there are also from time to time chests that pop out of a corpse, this is usually when the corpse contains armor or a weapon

some chests have traps, today I almost died by a "poison gas" that came out of the chest when I opened it...

good thing I had healed before, lol

oh the game is done, trust me..

there are many people in it too, so I can safely say the lag factor is low.

and sure..it may have a few expansions, but right now there's just so much to explore!

I really like the voiceovers on the merchants

in freeport npc's just walking around yell at you, and call you dirty, filthy, stupid, smelly, things like that

and in a really rude way

and the acting on the voices are really well done also

o0 another thing I forgot, if a monster is in a gorup

like if you attack it, and others will come, you will be notified before you attack it by the following

when you click a monster, a circle comes underneath them, if they attack in a group, a circle will be under the ones that will also attack you

hate is more of like aggro, it kinda says that "this monster hates you and will attack" and yea, they do travel in groups

and if the group aggros, the circle underneath them will be highlighted also, to let you know how many will

like today I was in the commonlands and this farmer was out walking his cows, and I clicked on a cow to see which ones would aggro if I attacked it..turns out all 20 cows and the farmer

    I didn't attack it, lol

the damage dealt appears above their heads..i guess that kinda helps :/

yea, except here in EQII before you zone into another zone you have like a thing you double click on

be it the city gates to freeport or what not

and they are highlighted, so you know it's a zone

    skills are mostly level based

Keep in mind the UI is fully customizable, this is pretty much default:

    http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=setandget&tp=136772&poll_id=0&category_id=19&warned=y

Oh and where it says "level 1000...".. that's a bug heh. It's been fixed since I took this.

    aye a putdown from traveling

instead of the boat system, at the docks you have two different "bells"

one if for travelling outside the city, the other within

you double click the bell, and click the zone to zone into it

    lol..

but that's only for zones on the coast..so not all of them.

    (no boats)

I think it checks the specs of your system and sets the settings for you by itself

because the graphics look much better on my system ,lol

There are boats, but only at certain places. They came in the patch last week.

There are 2 that I know of.. one from Commonlands>nektulos forest.. and one from Antonica>Thundering steppes.

The basic means of zoning is just the bells., or doors, gates, etc.

another great topic I just thought of...

    houses!

When you first start out, i fyou're evil, the Overlord pays for an apartment for you for one week

    basically it's a house..duh

and you get to buy furniture and place it wherever you want in it

you have to pay rent if it's at the Inn, but I think you can buy houses elsewhere also

It looks like a regular inn at the side of the road, double click on the door and you're in your own room

Here.. this is how I run the game with:

    2800+
    1gig ram
    9800 pro

    http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=136787

My UI reset for some reason, I haven't played this character for awhile so maybe they reset the settings in an update a little while ago. This is pretty much default. I used to have 2 hotbars, and some other changes, but it is close.

EDIT: Where is a site I can post pics on? With just the picture itself.

Trust me you do NOT want uncontrolled housing....

BTW I saw the pic and I imagine the detail is at LEAST as good as SW:G and that was really nice but still that UI is simular to WoW's but less fancy.

Oh that's another point.. you can remove the entire blackbar at the bottom and top of the screen. I left the there because I like it like that, but you can easily change it.
