The AA on it is worse than anything recent. Infact I can show you screenshots of RYL that make it look a lot better than that.
Hopefully Murt will show some cleaner shots. I am starting to get bummed out. or Jim is lying about hs system specs. Or what I believed all along that ATI does truly suck.

Sorry, just being honest. Maybe you need to turn your AA up to 8x and your Anisotropic up to 8x as well. I have both of mine just to 4x and it looks way better than them screenshots. hmm, you have your res set to 800x600? IF so maybe you should go to 1024x768. Then I can see why.

So SOE has learned to control the housing population that is great news... that is a HUGE plus for EQ2 players Trust me you do NOT want uncontrolled housing.... I wish it was 'part' of the screen and not in the 'widescreen' part..... but that is me... those images that were supposedly dated was actually accurate...

Oh that's another point.. you can remove the entire blackbar at the bottom and top of the screen. I left the there because I like it like that, but you can easily change it.

yeah, same with RYL. It is only medium settings. However I did a screenshot there to show. but when I look at the screenshot it doesn't give it credit of what I see in game. So hopefully that is the same case with Jim's screens in EQ2.
Not sure if anyone's asked this yet, but I'd always loved playing an Iksar in EQ which, needless to say, made watching your own back pretty much second nature. Now in EQII are Iksar KoS to everything with a pulse both good and evil (obviously except for the others in their starting area of Freeport), or will I be able to don my scaly overcoat among the rest of the city as well?
I probably dont even want to know about Qeynos....just the thought of a poor lost Ikky in the middle of all that clean wholesome goodness sends a shiver down my spine.
What about a guild system? Has anyone tried to make one? Is it similar to eq? Hopefully they improved it a bit because it definatly needed some work.
Also, how are the quests? You said you should do them and they are good exp, but do they run smoother. I remember at times eq had some annoying quirks, like one time I had spaces in backpacks but no free spaces so when this guy was supposed to give me an item he didnt. I had to petition the gm's and a few hours later they told me i needed to have a free space and gave me the item, cautioning me to be more careful.

Well, If I had one of EQ2 I would show it. But I am not lucky enough to be in the beta. However the AA doesn't look so well in both Murts and Jims. What I wonder is do you both have it off? or does EQ2 beta don't have it activated yet?

Anyway, if you all know a quick and easy place I can uplaod it to I will and it has to support a file as large as 400KB. Anyway, my point is not really about the over all pic it is about the AA and AS in EQ2. That is my concern with the screens being posted, however, I think realmreaver is jumping the gun in defense.
ok, cool Lugnard, that is better. I think the others have their AA off or set very low for better smoothness. But still I would like to upload this RYL pic for you all to see so you can take similar pics of EQ2 so I can see it in that angle as so to speak.

I had an idea there is better since in SW:G even on mid settings I saw woods that LOOKS ALOT more like woods and visuals otuside the city that looked like the wilds compared to anything I saw so far...
Then again inside the city it's about on par tho EQ2's have MUCH larger vistas with a longer range of view perhaps.
All I am saying is that so far I haven't seen anything that was done better even in SW:G even the 'armor' in that game. But that is just me.

However, to Realmreaver. Well, no one said that they are only showing mediocre screenshots. I suspect anyone that is going to show a screenie they are going to give their best especially since we are at a site where WoW fans are looking for any reason to say that there game is better.
Anyway, see the AA in this...if you look at the arms and the face you will notice there is less stair steping in the edges like there are in the other screenshots posted so far except in Lugs. He has shown some more detail.

are there alot less towns in eq2? It seems like its mainly freeport and qeynos and a few smaller ones. Is there more or less then EQI?
