Aion's gameplay has risk and complexity, it's a game made for the competitive gamer that will rewards success, rather than giving it with 0 effort.
Aion has garnered a huge subscriber base already in Asia after only 8 months of release, while WoW's numbers have nosedived since Aion came to town (look at the MMO data graphs). How much of a impact will Aion have in the West? the writing is on the wall ....
    Long live the king.

    gl with Aion!! :)))

No offense mate, but you are insane.

As for the OP, mate its all about fun if you enjoy playing Vanguard play it...why not try some other MMO's every now and then such as age of conan or warhammer..they both offer free trials.

As much as I support Aion, I definitely oppose this post.

Aion isn't doing anything better than WoW with that purpose. They created an original game with a PVP mindset. Thats basically it. All WoW did was simplify most aspects of MMOs (leveling, getting gear, instances, crafting, gathering, PVP) and made them their style.

The PVE content in WoW far more surpasses that of Aion, by a longshot. We will see how Aion pans out but as the MMO king? I mean I will play Aion to death and probably fall in love with it, but realistically what does it have to offer besides PvPvE? It sounds like it will be like WAR in the endgame, just more structured and a few more things to do. In the end, the games with TONS of PVE content for raiding and casual play always win. You can include both audiences (PVE and PVP lovers) in those. PVP based games can really only please the PVP savvy for the long term.

I'm glad you are enjoying Aion, I really am, but "king?" Give me a break! It's just the same basic combat system over and over again. I have Guild Wars for the hot key mashers and I think it's done much better than most of the monthly fee games. Also, those F2P asian grinders have loads of players too, but that doesn't make them good (doesn't make them bad either, just not my prefrence; I  am tired of all the lanky bodies and ginormous weapons).

Well, the only advice I can give is "If it's fun for you, do it." Just remember though SOE just shut down the Matrix and I am sure there is at least one or two other games they run that are going to be not too far behind. I don't know if Vanguard is one of them or not but it's at least worth knowing, since you mentioned the population.

In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

You're OP was actually selling me on VG, but sony did just take down the matrix and there has been other games that have closed this year that I'm scared to play it and then have them shut it down before I get a chance to experiance most of it. It's a shame really. Games need subs to survive but people won't sub because they're scared it'll get shut down.

Vanguard is a good game but no PvP, forget the pvp server, population to small.

Finding a good grouping PvE game is not easy these days, so I can’t recommend anything really.

it looks interesting... might give it a try.

so i go on their site to download the trial and see the SOE logo on the top right corner and i stop right there.

i am not about to invest on a game who's "manager" is SOE. i know what SOE does to their games, i know what they done to their games in the past and it is a pretty good indication of that they can and most probably will do.

they will lie, and employ bad business tactics just for a few extra bucks.

im sure it can be a great game, from what i read on it, it looks awsome but by principle i will not willingly give money to directly to SOE.
