I really wouldn't call them clueless on this matter to be honest. Look at the Xfire users per day for DFO (206). Thats not a lot of people. Even AoC has 1,662 Xfire players per day. How many extra people are playing DFO and using Xfire? 206 isn't a lot so hopefuly this isn't the number it has increased to.

Javac, the Xfire numbers show that DF has fallen sharply since it peaked in March. Went straight from #50 to #134. Answer this, how does going from #50 to #130 is an increase in numbers? Or are you only interested in the period where number increase slightly, ignoring sharp drops as what happend in March?
xfire measures playtime, not actual players per se. march was a week after release. naturally playtime would be at peak in the weeks directly following release, just like there was a big spike as well around expansions or major patches. all games show the same spikes around release and expansions, then a gradual decline down to the "normal" weekly playtime curve.
the difference here is playtime is steadily trending up for DF and its been weeks since the expansion. DF did have a trough before the expansion came out but all the data strongly points to DF subs going up steadily since the expac. other pieces of evidence are that official forum subs are still going up by a few thousand per month, clan numbers in-game that have been counted by people are showing big increases, Ave have reported they're looking at opening a third server, general positive vibe on forums, etc.
But the game came out in Feburary.... By March 25th, Darkfall should've had 40k players, instead it had 7k ...!
Now it has approx 4k US subscribers & 4k EU subscribers and both are @ peak. Dude, you have to be one of the biggest airheads on these boards... or just a blatant lier!

Some 300,000 people fled from this game once the NDA was dropped and we saw how pathetic and unfinished Darkfall has become. 7 years of development, $12 million and the lead Developer said "it was more polished than most game 1 year after they release"...
He was proud of that sh!t-sandwhich? Darkfall is an amature project, by an extremely amature company. They cannot even get a major publication to review the game...!!

Most of your post makes little sense to me but I will try and reply.
DarkFall managed to get a great deal of hype going, it presented itself as many things that appealed to many different types of players which in turn made it the talk of the town. Hence tons of posts about it.
That does not mean more players play it but yes many that post about DFO have never tried it.
Because sadly AV has made itself and DFO very open to bashings, there are so many glaring flaws with both that you really don't even have to play to find issues with either. Look on the main forums, here, anywhere really, few have overly good things to say about DFO or Aventurine yet tons and tons have plenty negative to say. Some of it is random bashing and trolling, but a lot of it is very legit.
It really is a frustrated mob. Aventurine got a large group of gamers all worked up about a game that didn't exist and then gave people something completely different. They tried charging a large group of these gamers twice. They failed to take care of issues such as hacking and macro's/afk play. With all that and plenty more Aventurine has created a frustrated mob.
Me? I played the game from beta till shortly before NA server launch. Was ok, lot of things bothered me but was still having fun. They changed the 1 char per server to 1 char per account and told me I would have to pay twice suddenly so I cancled. Now I pop in every now and then to see if things have improved enough that it might be worth the first 50-60 I paid let alone an additional 50-60 lol.
Everything you said is true m8. But if ppl want this game to fail so badly or just don't like it then simply don't post about it, coz' believe it or not, when you write so much stuff about one product (negative or positive), more and more ppl want's to try it and see what's that all about. It was the same with me and many more ppl i guess who wouldn't otherwise even bother to try it. I'm liking it so far, but hey,i'm playing 2 days..lol

Thats the thing lol, most do not want it to fail. What many that are "Hating" want is for the game and the company to improve. Whole reason I pop in is because I am hoping to see that it has improved. I have no issue with someone liking the game but I do however fill compailed to reply to those that are trying to say "Everything is wonderful, there are no issues with anything, there never were, the subs are increasing rapidly because everything is great anyone saying anything negative is a troll that has no clue what there talking about and or is a shill paid by another company because they fear DFO and therefore anything they say is invalid".

Good things attract many people, but crap attracts alot of flies. It's the same thing. This crap happened to be over hyped and proclaimed as the second coming of the MMO Christ, as Grey pointed out. So no wonder why it has alot of flies. Most of them are people who played Darkfall and are disgruntled because of the game itself, or because of Aventurine, or a combination of the two.
(No, I don't really think you're flies, but it's the analogy.)
If people see all these Darkfall threads on the main page, and they decide to try it, they can. But more likely than not, these threads, if they spark any interest, will just get them researching the game. Then they can decide to take the plunge even when presented with so much mixed information, or they can choose to avoid it.
Darkfall is just such a weird MMO by such a hilariously amateur company that it's hard not to talk about it, or laugh at it, or a combination of the two. People like javac greatly enhance the experience.
ah the length to which trollbots will go to try to turn a positive for DF into a negative, so predictable.
So when you have no argument to counter other people's arguments, you call them trollbots? You still haven't countered the fact that DF numbers have fallen since March, and that you only take the time frame that fits your own agenda. Explain that.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Sadly, people people usually misidentify "discussion" for "love" or "hate". DFO is still young, there's time to improve and several topics to discuss. But, it's just easy to use the fine Internet clichés, such as "hater" and "fanboi".

Not to mention the insane amount of spin and intellectual dishonesty on display in the... ahem... debates. Actually... it reminds me a lot of what goes on in these forums.
Same with politicians.
For some good examples, check out the Thunderf00t and AronRa channels on YouTube. Both are excellent and highly informative.

almost 100% growth in playtime according to XFire in a single month.
They released a NA server, they got a decent number of NA players who use xfire.
However, their handling of NA players on EU has lowered that curve significantly. Theres about 1000 of us who are stuck on EU who are rather pissed off AV isnt letting us play.
NA is a brand new server. To allow transfers from the start would have been rediculous for any one new playing DFO. You will get to transfer after 90-days, or you could have cancelled and used the monthly fee you saved to start in NA on day 1; choice was yours. You are not "stuck" on EU, just delayed in moving until the NA server has a chance to catch up to you for when and if you arrive.
Of course there are a lot of players that got extremely high skills in EU by doing nothing but using their no drop starter weapon and shooting in the air. Now that's fixed, I'm sure we have our share of unhappy gamers that can't immediately use their unearned skills on NA yet.

You are like the Extream DF Fanbot for real.
I dont think i have ever saw you post on any other game but DFO. You make a good bit of excuses for the games lack of content as well.
For the record being Full pvp and Full loot in no way makes a game "sandbox".
Actually china I am stuck. I had canceled my EU account waiting on NA release. We were told by AV prior to launch that "We’re allowing players from N. America to participate in the European release due to this fact. Of course we’ll make some allowances for these players if they would like to move to the US server when it launches." When asked for clarification, they refused to respond. We were told by mods in IRC that we would be taken care of. That last sentence though is very damning. "if they would like to move to the us server when it launches" Not three months later... I dont want my character moved, I was perfectly happy starting over from scratch. In fact pretty much everyone I played with was under that understanding, and perfectly fine with it. My issue, is having to wait 90 days to play our version, and then on top of that being charged a fee to do so. Its double charging your customers, and bad business...and its costing them thousands of subscribers.
Dont forget the part about them saying you can never play a game between publishers and then once released they show the true form of BOTH NA AND EU PUBLISHERS ARE AV!!!!
Wow way to Kick your community right in the teeth.
Tasos is a asshole i play DFO i liked it but i dont like being lied to. I dont like them not having a anti Cheat software. i mean the Same people who made the hacking in beta STILL use them and the hackers forums are full of people laughing at all of you that think AV is actually taking care of the hacking cuz they only catch the dumb one.

Added in the bit you forgot. That being said, at a high level, it doesn't seem like Aventurine is doing anything wrong. There are a number of games that have separated regions and publishers. In this case, however, Aventurine is self publishing in both areas, which makes the whole thing a little sketchy. AudioVisual owns the rights to the game in Europe, nobody outside of Aventurine knows who owns the rights in North America.

Probably because no one outside of Av does own the rights in NA. Hell the PayPal payments go direct to Tasos account not even to the company or a clearing firm.

So when you have no argument to counter other people's arguments, you call them trollbots? You still haven't countered the fact that DF numbers have fallen since March, and that you only take the time frame that fits your own agenda. Explain that.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

I envy your patience.
Sadly, people people usually misidentify "discussion" for "love" or "hate". DFO is still young, there's time to improve and several topics to discuss. But, it's just easy to use the fine Internet clichés, such as "hater" and "fanboi".
It's like Creationism X Evolutionism. Whenever you elevate the level of the debate, people start getting defensive and the name-calling quickly ensues.

Creationism v Evolutionism is a bad example. Evolution won that debate about 50 years ago.

Not a bad example, because people still argue it to this day, hence the attempts @ "intelligent design" legislation
