after wow burn out and burn out of all the wow clones, ive really enjoyed the last few weeks in CO and finally have enjoyed myself in mmo again, something thats been a struggle to do for sometime - so i have pre-orded, got the 6 month sub and intend on playing till the old republic is out.
Playing: FFXIV Future: wishing for SWG 2, World of Warcraft Classic Played: Most current and extinct MMO's - 18 Years in....
And if I had to choose between CO and Aion, CO wins... but that's not saying much.
I think that says more than you're giving it credit for. It says that you have very high expectations and that nothing currently on the market is able to meet those expectations.
Or possibly has something to do with the fact that almost all of the MMO's released in the past few years are targeting a different market segment than the older MMO's. A segment that is more interested in instant gratification and burning to max level than enjoying a large and immersive world.

The OP made a post voicing his opinion on an MMO who just dropped their NDA. His expressed his opinion on the game and what he thought.
The twits and idiots came out of the wood work bashing his opinion and his spelling ability.

Actually you fail at extremely basic reading comprehension. No one has any problem with folks voicing their opinion, that's what this and every other forum is ultimately about. What's silly about this particular OP is that he didn't bother to elaborate, at all. I'm actually interested in hearing some of the finer details about why he didn't like it. The fact that he didn't like it doesn't matter to me one way or the other, but the 'why' of it is the reason I clicked on the thread.
Looking back, virtually no one in the entire thread jumped on him because he didn't like it, they jumped on him because he just spewed a bunch of poo with no detail whatsoever, which ultimately wasted everyone's time (except for the couple of white knights who came charging valiantly to his defense, as well as the mod who gave me a warning for pointing out the obvious, lol, it gave him something to do I guess).
That had to be one of the hardest "reviews" I have ever read. You basicly said alot of nothing, by avoiding being specific about anything. Thats like asking "W" about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq..... the most non-specific answer in history.... and a great example of retoric. Your review is much like that.
This is what it sounds like to me.
"I didnt like it, it just didnt sit well, I am too elitest for this, its a console game for the PC, or and one class is broke in beta."
You said somethings but didnt say anything at all. You could have posted 90% of that before the NDA was lifted... cause you didnt SAY ANYTHING.
Lets be honest with ourselves guys. The game sounds pretty mediocre. How depressing...Great discussion though guys, really productive. You can tell a topic is productive by the amount of times people try to correct one another's spelling and grammar. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the "two cents" by the way. The title of this game, or the IP rather, is enough to bore me to tears so you're a real Champion ;-) for sticking in there and playing it out.
OP pretty much sums up my impression about the game as well. I found the action cool, but generally nothing really to keep you. A good highlight of all the relevant aspects.
Which brings me to the graphic. And i am talking as professional graphic designer (cause this is how i make my living) Let start from OUTLINES - cell shading. It is horrible. You will disable it first moment you see it. But the whole rendering engine is simply bad. Picture is jagged, and if you use Antialiasing , it becomes blurry. They really used some funky rendering engine. Perhaps in anticipation of XBOX port ?
I wanted to come back to this part of your post.
I want to see examples of your work. sorry but I want to know where you really are in the spectrum of a graphic designer or at least some sort of frame of reference for where you are coming from.
Becuase qutie frankly the art design in this game is very good. It is highly stylized. The cell shading looks beautiful. So if you have anything that I can see, deviant art or some site (?) by all means please let me have a peak. Because you are either beyond exceptional at what you do or your eye for art design is off given the parameters of this comic book world.
All I know is that I put my settings up, put up the resolution and was just staring at the screen thinking "what the heck is he talking about?"
