Yeah, they show the big WoW event, then Bioware comes up and says, "Oh yeah, here's a little in-game action for you," and proceeds to blow it out of the water.  Between Aion, this game, and Guild Wars 2, WoW really shows its age with the Tauren and gnome re-skins.

Yeah I caught the walk too. But it looked more like a ducks waddle to me.

Don't get me wrong I love the game. I hope the less huskey looking toons walk is normal.

Yeah i'm not all to happy with the big and husky look of the bounty hunter. To each his own I suppose.

All in all I am so psyched about this game. !0/10

Edit: quoted the wrong one fixed

The animations look great, gameplay looks good.

Good to see people jumping to conclusions based on the video though.

But yeah, I noticed that the BH walking was sliding along the ground, and I find that terribly annoying.  That really takes away from a game.  Also, except for when the BH fought 8 mobs in a row, the players health NEVER goes down. Even against a Jedi Knight.

I sure do not like the thought of fighting things with no fear of dying, especially bosses, like the JK was.

As to someone mentioning this is going to be all instanced, please, read up on the game. Flashpoints are big story instances, such as this.  The rest of the game, if you missed the whole BH/Smuggler area, are not.  Still no evidence if it's humans only for race.  I highly doubt that.

Do you really think they would have made a presentation without the God Mode on .... It clear that they were set to invulnarable so that i would be easier for them to show off the different elements of the game.

Please redo them stiff and wonky character animations and please new character models that actually look good.

Eh, I guess.  Just his health went down fighting many mobs in a row, but against the jedi, almost nothing.  I guess they could have beefed stats for the demo, but if they did, great.  Just would prefer to see how it felt without that than.

Speaking as a rabid BioWare Fanboy I am a bit disappointed in the combat and the cover system. Why do they need to point out where cover is? They didn't need that with Mass Effect.

And like other people said the combat looks very meh. How about some real aiming. If chronicles of spellborn can it why can't other games?

But still a KOTOR game with co-op is going to kick ass. Lets hope they step up the combat a bit.

  • StellusStellus Member UncommonPosts: 263

Sorry - I play Mass Effect and love what BioWare has done with that game. But this doesn't feel like an MMO, just a co-op Knights of the Old Republic.

With that said - I hope they prove me wrong. i am disappointed thusfar. Maybe I was just hoping for someone to swoop down and take what SOE had done to their terrible attempt at a sandbox and show them how it should really be done. Instead I get something that divides players into their own realm instead of sharing it with everyone else.

As of now, I don't feel like paying $15 a month for a game I already have in my living room paid in full...

i wasn't sure how I felt about this game until now. And I am SOLD! The smuggler class alone had me going OOOOH and AHHHH! 2010 is shaping up to be an awesome mmorpg year. I don't have enough time in the day to play all these games coming out. /sigh

This is a BioWare game, this has nothing to do with SOE - nothing nothing nothing.  And BioWare has never done a Sandbox game, they do Story-driven and they do it best.

You really don't need to practice your yawning skills. EVE online already trained them to max.

I Like most of what I have seen. The Combat for shooting I Persnoly think would be better as a fps style. As the Melee ablities with the Sith warrior, I Think is outstanding :) They have really done very well with the VO Work and choice's to be made, it will be neat to see what kind of choice's my friends will make.

The Character's health dose'nt move at all from anything, god mode is on, so no need to panic. The character model's look fine...it looks like they just use the same one for everything...maybe they are still working with the character creation..who know's, it's alpha. This game seems to be a little more on the toony side of things so Better can mean a number of things....Best to explain what you mean by better. I would never place bets on anything alpha stages, It's Allways a possablity for a huge change. If you saw WoW in its Early alpha stages....it was nothing what it is like today or even when it came out. Expect some things to change and some new features.

I am Very eager to see the Characters Customizations of clothing/armor and player customization when they present it. Just because they show one race, dose not imply it is the only race there is to play. Think alittle guys.

    This is star wars.

But one of the things that get me is why some of them are saying like...it feels like your playing han solo..or darth vader.....They both did'nt exsist in this time frame....Why would I want to do what they do? If i have Force...it want to be be able to Bend it to my will. Make new attacks that can keep my enemies at bay and confuzed what I may do next.

    We'll have to see.

    An MMO Trail freak.

It looks fun, and the story elements seem to be in there really well with the cinematic instances and such. But I get the feeling they're trying too hard and just drowning the game in star wars fanservice. You start off with every last bit of the iconic class items and features, so I don't know where they expect to build up from there in a meaningful way.

It just seems like they trivialized everything and you're going to see a million darth vaders dual wielding double bladed light sabers a scant few weeks after launch. So while I want to play it for the great story presentation (its essentially an online kotor) I don't due to the fact that everything seems so overwrought that it's a joke.

Strangely enough, the graphical style and character models are the one thing I don't have a problem at all with.

Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

Couldn't they be innovative and do both? This is basically Guild Wars but in Star Wars / Sci-Fi setting. I don't get a sense of community. How do my actions affect EVERYONE and not just myself? Do they? If they affect only my character, what's the point of making this an MMO?

I have my doubts as I have said, and I want to be proven wrong. As of now, instanced games irk me. Call me old-school, but I want to be a part of the greater whole.

I have been following this game for a while now and yes I played SWG. I hate to pass judgement on an early gameplay trailer, instead I'd rather point out what I noticed that doesnt fit what I imagined this game to be.

First is player customization, looks very generic. A couple of the npc's look the same and nothing but humans.Second, I didnt like the pre set spots for Smugglers. I mean what if you have a whole group or multiple players doing the same missions. Maybe the cover spots are just optional and won't make a big impact wether you use it or not.

    What I like:

Looks like a good amount of skills even at the early levels. Flashpoints look pretty good, I hope it's not limited to a couple players though. I hope you get an option of  the  number of players that can join.

Again it's still at least a year away so a lot will change and wil get refined. It's still the #1 MMO that I'm eagerly waiting to get released or get to beta, heck Alpha even.

I'm looking forward to this game, very much so.  The combat seems like it going to require a little more hands-on (since it looked like the normal attacks were placed as shortcuts).  I would love to try that multiplayer convo system.  However, I do have to agree with Stellus.  There didn't feel like any type of community was involved.  I assume the Light/Dark side point will effect the skills one can get, but I also hope it effects how other NPC look at you.  Maybe you get a special option another player doesn't get, or vis versa.

It still too early to tell, I think.  I'm pretty sure Bioware has something up their sleeves.

Boring.. I didn't see anything not already done in current MMOs apart from the voice acted dialogue (which was kind of lackluster even compared to what I've seen in the KOTOR games and Mass Effect).

Quite unimpressive (especially after such hype buildup)

And the white lies : The only MMO to use cover syster ... hello ! How about Tabula Rasa ?

Looks like Square-Enix just owned Bioware.

"SW: TOR is the first ever fully voiced MMO"- Wrong, lol.

FFXIV is doing it too, and the game is coming out earlier than SW: TOR will- too bad!

Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".

FF and Square-Enix suck, you wanna talk about that go to that forum.  I personally think that Bioware/Lucasarts will own Square-Enix, so it all comes down to what you like.

Link where it says FFXIV will be fully voiced otherwise shut up.

Too bad that you'll be missing on a next-gen top notch MMO just because of your bias towards the company making the game.

Doesn't change the fact that SE owned Bioware though- they'lll have to think of something else to sell their game now, since calling it "the second MMO ever to have full voice acting" doesn't really sound too appealing, haha.
