Cry engine have a lot of feature that AION is not using. It's totally normal that AION graphc are average. There is no PC on earth that can run a MMO with Max graphic in a raid. EQ2, AoC both are game that need a lot of juice and anyway you'll finish with 10fps in a raid

This is why I loved the game, you had to do things at the right time. It just wasn't spam your hotkeys till the damn thing was dead.  I also guess this is why a lot of people hated the game as well, they just wanted mindless button mashing. Which is one thing Blizzard is good at.

Overrated by whom? Most of what I've seen lately is people complaining the game is overhyped, overrated, whatever bullshit you feel to say than it is anyone acting like this game is the holy grail.

Seems there's more bitching about people hyping this game too much or saying it's innovative or different from all other mmos than there is anyone actually saying any of that nonsense.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Yeah I know what you mean but FFXI has the best party lvling system and hope it's successor will have it too. lvl sync and kill chains to get bonus exp is great to make party grind more enjoyable and having a corsair around was sweet during the long grinds :3

    I am an Aion fanboy.

I am buying this game despite not shattering the mold.

I am buying this game, despite of its vast wow similarities.

I am buying this game, even though by all right, t is bringing absolutely nothing new to the genre.

I am buying this game for the only reason that matters... I played it and i liked it.

Christ im a fucking moron, i stilll buy games because i like them, and not because they are number 1, or not WoW clones, or for whatever other stupid reason people come up with to roll into another MMO community they dont like only to bash the game, the people who play it, or anyone who plans on playing it in the future.

Apparently it just isnt possible to play a game, not like it and simply uninstall and move on, no i need to read your indepth, "i played the game for 1 to 3 hours, so i know more then enough to insult this game and you for liking it" review.

I can just start off by attacking the game for how much of a WoW clone it is, completely showing the rest of the readers, right of the bat, that WoW was probably my first MMO, so i have no idea what i am talking about, because i actually believe WoW brought new features to the Genre, to the point where i actually use the term "WoW Clone" or say things like, "X game is a lot like WoW".

Then i can attack Aion for taking features from every other MMO, mostly WoW, in an effort to make it to the top, but simply over look the fact that 5 years ago, and every subsequent expansion since, WoW has done the exact same thing. And it works, its proven to work,  It works because it is fucking brilliant to take features from other Games that people like and put them in one place, that way instead of people having to look at 3 or 4 MMOs for a couple of different features they find interesting, they just have to look at 1 MMO.

No, I wont call you a dumb - fuck for saying Aion is similar to WoW, not yet anyway. Becaue Aion does have 2 faction at War with each other, and yes, Aion is going quest heavy, because they realize, that unlike their korean audience, the western audience doesnt have the focus to simply slaughter hordes of mobs to progress, unless of course it is hidden nicely in the form of a quest.

Well, here comes that "dumb-fuck" comment creeping up, WoW was never designed to be a casual player game, it was simply trasnformed into one overtime. How you say? Well when you break 12 million subscribers( Which no other MMO in the genre has even come remotely close to doing) You get a lot more customers, alot more morons who have complaints, a lot more voices screaming at you from all angles to change the game in Ways that make them happier. And the sad fact that most hardcore players dont realize is, We are the minority. We may troll the forums, and think a valid response to a well thought out complaint about the game is to say "QQ more Carebear, quit now and give me your stuff", the sad fact is that it is not. The dev team is not going to listen to some jackass who decided to throw down insults over the person who actually has a well written objection, with grammar, punctuation and everything. They are a business, and the customer is always right, so tey will listen to the side with the most unity, and it will change the game. Hence the move to the casual like WoW, with easy grinding, and child like raid instances.

Dammit, you came back to this nonsense about stealing content and features, fine, yes, Guild wars has an interesting skill system, where you quest, and kill and find random skills to mix and match your characters, ncsoft liked that, hell they made it, its their game, so they stole it, Aion calls them stiigmas, slash one reason to play guild wars.

Then they looked over at lineage 2, a game THEY MADE, the same guys who did lineage and linage 2 made aion, does it really surprise you that 50% of the features resemble lineage 2? the open world pvpve, the fortress seigeing, the tax system influencing the world currency, the lack of mounts, the time consuming travel to add to world size, the world bosses people can just stare at for years with no clue on how to defeat, the list is a lot longer but you get the point, slash a few reasons to stop playing lineage 2.

Then they looked at city of heroes, decided, well, we jut need a detailed character creator, really every MMO company is doing this because the days of 5 faces and 3 hairstyles are over, RvR is a must these days, of course every new MMO is just going to come with that now.

It is not a bad thing to take things that work and put it into your game, its called common sense. If it isnt broken dont fix it, if something is released and recieved well, you add a little check mark too it, and say, "this thing will be in everything then else we make from here on out."

You started bashing aions graphics, and the engine, which leads me to believe you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about in that regard, so ill just ignore it all. Dont get me wrong, that isnt to say you knew what the hell you were talking about before, just this is much worst.

Ive played every beta for most of the new Games coming up, ive yet to feel the need to forcefeed my opinion down everyone elses throat.

If you dont plan on playing Aion, awesome, good luck to you with whatever other game you plan on bashing next.

    1. AION IS a lot like World of Warcraft.  Simply put, WoW was successful, NCsoft realized this when they set about making Aion, to replicate the success of WoW and other MMOs of today, they pulled together many many elements from many games, several of which are probably noticable right from the get-go, most noteworthy of which-WoW.
Now you say , Pezhead, you dumb-fuck, AION is NOTHING like WoW except for the two factions.  Respectfully I must disagree.  WoW ushered in an era of MMO's where solo content and heavy quest driven leveling was key to ease the boredom of solo or group grinding.  It was put together to appeal to a much more casual market, and at its peak of 12 million subscribers, it indeed achieved that.  World of Warcraft took all that was successful from previous MMO's, tweaked them and combined them to create the superomfg MEGAZORD! i.e. World of Warcraft.  It didnt do anything revolutionary, except for this.  Take a look at AION, elements from Guild Wars, WoW, Lineage, City of Heroes, DAOC, can be seen quite easily (Quest leveling, art style, customization, RvR etc.)
    2. AION's graphics are NOT superb.  They are merely above average, part of this is of course is that the CRYengine is 5 years old, part of it is a lack of detail in certain areas.  However, what sets AION's graphics apart from everything else out there is the way that they are implemented.  Take Age of Conan for instance, probably the most graphically advanced MMO currently availiabe.  However, in addition to killing computers, the graphics in the game are very nitty gritty, neandertahlish, a rather boorish taste if you ask me.  AION's graphics however send a message to players that, not everything has to look ugly, there is beauty even in the scorching desert or within a bustling capital city, and even beyond that, there is elegance.
    3. I am NOT an AION hater, I do not like people who say things in ignorance after accusing others of ignorance, and people who make the AION community look worse then the WoW community.
I played Korean retail as well as been playing English Beta.

Why would you compare to Aion to WoW, when WoW is a complete copy of any other MMO it succeeded?

Aion's graphics are not cutting edge, but make WoW look like the cheap cartoon that it is.

Many WoW players will come to Aion and give up within a week - you don't get a level for logging in in this game.

So in addition to your points being useless and irrelevant, Pezhead you are a dumb-fuck.

Wow what a waste of his time to type out all that to try and dis Aion. Luckily I didn't read much of it.

Plus who cares if Aion is like WoW. All MMOs are like other MMOs to some extent. I believe a.. duh.. would be suited here. I don't know what you expect to prove. It doesn't mean they are like eachother just because they similairites. But maybe you think they are like eachother.. just depends on your perspective.. but koodos for sharing yours.

And I think the graphics ARE great... so what are you going to do about it? cry some more?

It seems as though a new religion has formed.  I was a WoW player for 2 years and I enjoyed the game, but I also am open to other forms of ENTERTAINMENT that's out there.  The word entertainment is put in all caps to show that this is just what these games are.  Some of us get a little too emotionally involed in them.  I mean, I feel as if I am an Infidel for liking any other game but WoW.  People like all things in life, Please enjoy in moderation.
