Xbox 360 controller works so well its almost cheating.

I started off playing the game with mouse and keyboard and, while that worked ok, I really didn't get hooked until I tried the 360 controller out.
Let me tell, it makes a difference.
Not only do characters control better (felt kind of delayed with m & kb) but by using their buttong config and the two joysticks you are able to use all of your skills much more easily. This is really apparent in PvP were access to skills on the number keys can be difficult if you are trying to stay mobile.
Using my melee EB Vampire chick I was able to run circles around other players and use all of my powers with out stoping (except the life sucking one of coarse). Needless to say I was leading in kills and had 0 deaths (mostly because I was a hard target with acrobatics) in a bunch of games. I also have auto attack set to none so I can continually mash the x button to build energy (feels like you can attack faster and makes the game more like a hack n slash).
With the 360 controller you have access to all of your skills and a few extra functions. The only problems are you have to use the keyboard for inventory, map, etc.
Anyone else try out and like the 360 controller with this game?

No point. You are much better served by having a PC game pad which has an analog stick, like the Saitek Cyborg Command Unit. Before I had an analog stick though, I just did all movement with the mouse, and left my hand on the keyboard for hotkeys, but that is just me.
Mmmm no I have not had the pleasure as of yet. Tho' it may be awhile, I am looking forward to a demo of this game at the very least. =0) I have my reservations for a couple reasons but would like to check it out regardless.

Your statement confused me.
The 360 controller has two analog sticks. One for movement the other for mouse look. The face buttons (x,b,a,y) are for skills and the lb, RT,LT are "shift keys". Rb targets and Rb+right stick lets you "whip target". Why would I need a cyborg if I already feel like the 360 controller is the most fun?

Yes, the xbox controller has two analog sticks, but one analog stick controls what the mouse would normally do. A PC game pad with an analog stick combined with a gaming mouse is a much better option. If you like the Xbox 360 controller, then that is cool. But have you tried other things? The Xbox controller just doesn't have the versitility of a mouse and pc game pad.

360 controller is recognized automatically. You just need to find the control list and memorize it. Believe it or not but three of the dpad buttons are used as shift keys as well (for primary utilities and devices).

I used a nostramo once. Didn't really like the feel of it and would rather just use a keyboard if I was going that route. With the controller I can lounge back in my chair and relax. I totally dig that.

yeah i tryed the 360 controller but did not like it i am to old school i guess i liked the control options but made the game a bit auto pilot just had to get close to a mob and it would auto target it for me with my build up power toggle on all i had to do was hit skills not that it was not fun, in pvp all i have to do is hit R for auto run and spam my flying kicks to own face lol good times
Isnt the Nostromo a D pad though, and not an analog? Either way, the "Lounge" factor of the gamepad is a plus. But I just feel so limited with the Xbox 360 controllers due to lack of buttons, and lack of programability. Different strokes though.
Yeah, the delays when doing 180 turns with mouse+keyboard are pretty annoying.
But I found the mouse+keyboard much more flexible and easier to use than the 360 controller, once you customize the key bindings. Unfortunately, doing so seems to mess up the default controller mappings. For example, I re-bound "block" on the keyboard, and now I can't seem to block with the controller (unless I map it via autohotkey).

No, the problem is that you are thinking that a PC game pad is the same as a console game pad. Look up the Saitek Cyborg Command Unit. It is a one handed unit which is stationary.

The 360 controller is ok... Don't like how you have to hold down one triggers or left bumper to use the other skills, on your bar.
After I customizing my keybinds, I like my keyboard/trackball better.
I stand corrected, that makes perfect sense. Not knowing the exact product (or taking the time to look it up) one would infer from the word "gamepad" to be what I had thought. Not saying it takes away from being incorrect in calling you out, just wanted to point out the semantics of the situation.

It was way better with the controller. Don't judge it unless you've tried it and some of you haven't tried it. This game is meant for a controller, which is probably why it's coming to the 360 early next year.

yah, controller rocks the house, and communication is not the issue. I can do two things, talk on voice (which is best), or I can type on my keyboard with my 360 controller in hand.
I would rather Play on a keyboard. I use macros so setting up attack chains is easy, and it saves wear and tear on my poor wittow fingers.

If you type on your keyboard with your controller in hand, you definitely don't type very fast.
Of course... I don't know what the average typing speed is, so I guess I can't comment on this. I am the fastest typer I have ever known, so my standard of "fast" is a bit skewed to say the least.

Can you give a few examples of what your macros do?
I am interested; especially since I bought this damn G15 keyboard for apparently no reason.
I didn't get to play for long, so I never ended up actually making any macros for Champions Online, but I can give you examples from other games.
AoC: All of the melee combos. This was the best part about it. Once the novelty of pressing all the directional attacks wore off, it was time for a one button combo.
EvE online: Turning on all of your guns/miners at once, rather than one at a time before they made that an integrated part of the game.
WoW: Too many to list, but mostly buffing macros, and button spam macros. For example, on my druid, I hated pressing 1111111 all day to use Maul, and then constantly pressing another button for Mangle whenever it was off cooldown. Solution? Macro a button that presses 1 four times a second, and then 4 (mangle) once every second. That way, when I turn on the macro by pressing the key, it would just spam it over and over and over. it would do all my attacks automatically, and once a mob was dead, it would even select the next in line and start attacking that mob. That then freed up my fingers to worry about the lesser used skills.
Also, if you have a buff that lasts 10 mins, and another that lasts 15, and another that lasts 30 mins, it is a pain to remember to buff yourself all the time, and you will often end up having them run out, and not even realize. So, I would make a macro that would use buff 1 ever 10 mins, buff 2 every 15, and buff 3 every 30. That way, when I logged in, I just pressed the key once, and it would keep me fully buffed for the rest of my playing time.
