Who WON'T you buy another game from?

Are there any Developers/Publishers that made or obtained a MMO that in your view ruined things so much that you actually boycott any further products?

    SOE.

I imagine there will be a number of people with that answer though.

I'm not going to write off a game company just because it made one game I was disappointed in or made a few bad choices, but that said I will be more careful when pre-ordering from companies I've had a bad experience with.

    Turbine
    Cryptic
    SOE
    Funcom
    NCSoft
    Mythic

Blizzard isn't on the list because I never played WoW outside of the beta, while the others I've all pre-ordered games by.

SOE, and not because of SWG.  I hated them since way back in the day of EQ.

     Dax.

SOE is probably the company Ive had the worst time with. Outside of the MMO world I would have to say Lionhead...

Long Ago - Dark Age of Camelot, Guild Wars
    Now - Aion
Looking Forward To - SW: TOR, GW2, FF14
Will Never Touch Again - WoW
    Smashed Hopes - Vanguard

Blizzard, the first and only game Ive ever played and bought from them was WoW and I wasn't to impressed.  IDK maybe id give D3 a try once a demo comes out.

My list of companies to "check, recheck and double recheck" whether they are offering games (and if its worth the money) or scamfests when spending money on:

    Cryptic

    Aventurine

    EA

*insert random F2P asia-to-america publishers here* (no spending on item mall crap for below standard gaming)

SOE (and Sony for that matter).

Not solely "because" of SWG but because of how they operate. Smed, being the liar he is, poor customer service, buggy product YEARS after release, RMT across all their game, take your pick. They have lost my business, permanently

If a company made a product besides an MMO and acted like this, I wouldn't givr them my business, either.

Turbine because they are the most overrated gaming developer in the history of mmos I think. All their games are mearly average at best and overhyped because people keep giving them great intellectual properties to work with.

You know, even though I can absolutely understand why people would want to boycott some developers (SOE in particular), I don't think I would, if it meant missing out on a good game.

As mercenary as it sounds, I'd prioritise my self-interest and set aside my prejudices.

    Nope.

Did have a bad experiance with SOE once with the NGE, but thats so long ago and other then that I never had any other issue's with them other then what I read other people having with them.

If I am having fun in a MMORPG is what matters, if a gamecompany messes that up I leave, it's so simply and makes gaming just more fun, then how I see some people who even say they hate game X yet keep playing it....never understood that.

Mythic as a company. Paul Barnett, Jeff Hickman, and Mark Jacobs as individuals.

    This ^

Although, Funcom made me a very unhappy camper, and I would certainly analyze the game pretty darn hard before I commit my monies to it after Conan. I can't say I would never buy from them again though, so long as they don't fail.

After working for SCEA for 7 years, I'd say anything SoE, SCEA, and/or Sony related products.  It's personal thing.  Let's just say I"m glad I don't work for them anymore.

While there's no company that I'd outrightly refuse to ever buy any game from for any reason, ever, there are certainly some that would have to prove their products to me before I'd touch them.  I think Funcom and SOE lead the list, both are well known for releasing garbage out of the gate and then taking forever to actually make them worthwhile, if ever.

But since I refuse to buy or play any game until it's been in the wild for at least 6 months, it really doesn't matter, most of the bugs are worked out, there's plenty of reviews to look at before I decide what I want to pay for and what I want to ignore.

Played: UO, EQ, WoW, DDO, SWG, AO, CoH, EvE, TR, AoC, GW, GA, Aion, Allods, lots more
Relatively Recently (Re)Played: HL2 (all), Halo (PC, all), Batman:AA; AC, ME, BS, DA, FO3, DS, Doom (all), LFD1&2, KOTOR, Portal 1&2, Blink, Elder Scrolls (all), lots more
    Now Playing: None
    Hope: None

    Funcom

    SOE

    Mythic

    NCSoft

Yes I'm fairly picky but the one thing I do know is stuff I don't like. I'm extra picky on MMOs now a days having played so many and I know companies tend to follow their own trends. So I will save myself the money. But this didn't start with MMOs, I stopped buying EA products along time ago when it became apparent that they loved to release crap and then expansions of crap only to not support it and release a sequel of crap.
