I'm a tad hot atm....just wanted to forwarn everyone that you may not be able to access EARLY HEADSTART(much of the headstart information is very misleading) Dont waste your $50 like I did.... On top of that I cant get a tech support response on anything that I've sent.
FIXED FOR THOSE QUICK FIRST RESPONDERS....
Let me clarify what I was trying to say.....
There is a website that has changed their pre-order wording .......(Example: the word "access" was switched to "download") Two totally different meanings in my book.
Comments
I think he is referring to the head start program for those you preordered it. I pre ordered it and i am in the game playing right now.
Sounds like someone didn't get the memo about pre-ordering from only certain retailers in order to get in on the head start weekend.

Sorry dude, but beta was over a few days ago.... so there is no more beta to access to :XD
About Early-Start: people who did a pre-order on time got theirs keys and are playing the game. I am one of them.
A few cases are missing theirs Early-Start key. Thats not Cryptic fault. Cryptic does not control the retailers. Besides the company responsible with the distribution is Atari. Again, those cases are the vast minority.
What is happening: some people decided to pre-order on Friday or close to it. The retail stores were out stock (or running out it) for pre-order boxes with the bonus. They now only have the normal game (no bonus). Bonus included (for some stores) a Early-Start key. Anyone that got a open-beta key from pre-order also got Early-Access!
If you buy the game now chances are that you will have to wait until the first (Sep 1) for the USA release and a few more days if you buy the game from Europe. Few options work with download (D2D is one).
There is also a promotion for the subscription: 6-months pack or lifetime. Its suppose to end tomorrow (Aug 31). Last chance :XD to pay less to play (6-months = $10/month).
1. Not all of the retailers ever had head start keys to begin with, it would require research to know which did. Must be even more disappointing to purchase it now from one of these retailers and not receive the head start key.
2. The promotion is over for a while, apparently there was some magical cap on how many lifetime and 6-month subs they would sell.

1. USA : Gamestop and Best-Buy had the Early-Access. The rest did not. That was stated on the pre-order page and also on each retailer website. Some people missed that and are complaining... but hey this is the internet....
The people who bought the game on the right stores (Gamestop/BB - USA or whatever - EU) got theirs keys and they are playing, as long they did it before the suply was out. The people that bought the game too late (like Friday, the day of release) were mostly out of luck. No more pre-order with bonus on stock! Sucks, but thats not Cryptic fault. We had months to pre-order the game.
2. The promotion is back. As like right now. Yeah you can buy it now. But not after tomorrow. Please learn to read before you quote/reply. Check the game website.
Preorder, lol. It amazes me how many contiue to fall for such a gimmick. Are they truley that desparate?
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
We should'nt have to do exstensive research to buy a $50 game. I could understand if I was buying real estate on a remote island in the south pacific...research might be warranted then.
Its very easy to state that you may purchase this product at this point in time but....
IT WILL NOT GIVE YOU EARLY ACCESS TO THE GAME AND GAMEPLAY WILL BEGIN ON A SPECIFIC DATE....how simple is that?
It took me what 2 minutes to find out which one had the HEADSTART. This is your own fault. people try to blame to many other people when it comes to stuff like this.
It didn't take extensive research. Hell I barely read about the game before beta so it was a surprise to me. Even I caught on to where to pre-order from. For those that missed it, ya it does suck. But the same game is still going to be there on release. If it's remotely close to CoX was you will have people to group with at low levels for years to come. This is a great game for people that like to make alts.
Here is your well earned cookie Manchine...you're my new hero.
I wanted to warn folks that have subpar reading skills(like myself apparently) to keep their money.
I dont want others to be mislead and have their money wasted on something that was NOT clear. So to those that have not yet purchased CO and if you suffer in reading comp like myself...wait until you see the box on the shelf.
.. Research? ... Dude do you even live in this current century...its all written in plain english...not to mention anyone thats bought a game in the last 5 years knows to look around at the various sites to see who has the better deal. And its not even just MMOS that market stuff like that..rofl.
This argument is tired people that refuse to read before they buy are impulse buyers and at fault for getting stuck. Its like pretending to not know that the gas station sells Soda for cheaper and often better deals then the grocery store.
OH and for anyone that doesnt know..no website gives out the Pre order Items or Early start at all now since Friday you had to of pre ordered before or during open beta.
So basicly you want every shops to list all perks other shops got that the current shop don't have? Why would they ever do that?
The release date is the only date it should be listed, and perks that follow that specific product. And early access is a perk.

Dude first calm down.Pre orders are over now anyway for headstart.Yes many of us got messed up by pre orders not getting a headstart access but its only a few days anyhow.
Also i betaed the game and feel i am commited to it for at least 3-4 months which is what the 6 months offer gives you in money count(4months monthly sub= 6 months deal) with the additional benefit of star trek online beta and a headstart also.
I bought the 6 months and got into headstart. Not a solution tbh unless you already like me planned to get the 6 months deal.
But a few days is not the end of the world you know.
Don't pre-order it, are you wick, wick, wack?! I just paid for 4 lifetime accounts (myself, wife and 2 kids). This game is amazingly fun! We have been playing since Friday!

And not all of those who did, sent them out.
Phootle!
You should always do research before you buy anything. Though the game ONLY costs ~$50.00, their is a monthly fee associated with it.
In addition, company can't tell you what something doesn't have. For example, THE GAME WILL NOT BE DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR BY A SUPPERMODEL, YOU WILL NOT BE A SUPERHERO IN REAL LIFE, YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE PIE WITH YOUR PREORDER.,etc.
I did pre-order this game on the 26th, but unfortunately i ordered from amazon, so i was 2 days late to get into the headstart hehe,
I phoned the customor support and asked them for more information and they told me - "between the 13th and 24th of August will be emailed keys from the 25th of August onwards. so yes i was abit late to get my key
Sure i raged, but not as much as this guy?
I highly recomend people to pre-order / wait for release, i think its NA is 1st sept, EU is the 4th, erm, i know that the australians has been pushed to the 10th for some reason? im not sure but i read in the offical forums,
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4093/userbar759160.gif
Oh yes another thing with amazon is that, as the game still hasnt been dispatched yet and is still pre-order status,
if the price of that item drops, the charge on my order is automatically drops aswell
eg, on the 26th i bought it for £24.44 i think,
and now 30th its gone down to about £18.99
which i think is pretty nice

If they do not state it comes with a head start, then it is your fault to assume it did come with it. I fail to see how Cryptic/Atari is at fault here. it looks like you probably did not do well on reading comprehension mate.
Cheers!

From what I've heard, some of the wording was changed on their web site a week or two ago that made where you can get early access more clear. Up to that point, it appeared to be that all those that pre-ordered, no matter from where, would get pre-access. IMO, its not that big of a deal but its not my money either. I'd be slightly pissed but that would be all.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
im just upset with myself that i didnt research this game earlier, i didnt preorder at all because i only started looking at it seriously on 8-29-9 arg gotta hold out 22 more hours to get play time in, thats assuming i can just pop in disks and go argggggg the waiting it hurts!

All that was changed was a single word "Access". It didn't have the word headstart in any of the descriptions. Which means you had to click on each one and look at what they offered on the site. Like I said 2 minutes worth of reading.
You know, I hate to admit this but I thought about preordering this just to get the guaranteed slot in the Beta for STO with no intention of playing. I changed my mind and decided against it though lol. STO seems groovy and all but it didn't seem worth the price and hassle to play beta.
Pre-ordering didn't give you a garanted spot in STO beta, you have to buy a 6 mths or lifetime sub to get it.
