Pre-ordering didn't give you a garanted spot in STO beta, you have to buy a 6 mths or lifetime sub to get it.

That is correct. Pre-ordering gave you different things depending on who you ordered from but none of them gave STO Closed Beta access. Only the special subscription offers did that.

Its very easy to state that you may purchase this product at this point in time but....
IT WILL NOT GIVE YOU EARLY ACCESS TO THE GAME AND GAMEPLAY WILL BEGIN ON A SPECIFIC DATE....how simple is that?

If they do not state it comes with a head start, then it is your fault to assume it did come with it. I fail to see how Cryptic/Atari is at fault here. it looks like you probably did not do well on reading comprehension mate.

    Cheers!

From what I've heard, some of the wording was changed on their web site a week or two ago that made where you can get early access more clear.  Up to that point, it appeared to be that all those that pre-ordered, no matter from where, would get pre-access.  IMO, its not that big of a deal but its not my money either.  I'd be slightly pissed but that would be all.

I never even looked at Champions page to see what the offers were since the offers are alwasy more clearly detailed on the retailer's site.  It was clear in nice bold letters for each site what you get.    Its the user's fault not Cryptic and oddly enough for once not the retailers fault.
