jedi should be much more powerful then other professions.

So lets make all jedi/sith more powerful then everybody else playing other professions, this makes the game skill based!

I knew you would disregard what I said earlier and continue ranting having no clue what you want or are talking about. I figured I would step it up a bit and show you just how much sense you make.

I doubt you will understand, I don't expect much from you.

I never understood the argument either. How can you say a game is skillbased when you allow an alpha class? Of course I remember asking the same thing back before the NGE and was always told to learn to play my profession. Right, a profession that is broken and never fixed can use "skill" to beat a profession that annihilates three at a time. Um....yeah.

The fact of the matter is stillkillin like all the other cult members of that POS is saying anything to back up the big pipe dream that SWG pre-cu will be back in all its broken glory.

i wouldn't call it an mmo at all

and how long do you think it will be before bioware tries to put it on the lamebox 360

I think this is the route that all MMO games are going to reach a broader audience. P23 & Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised if ToR was released on a console, cause it looks like it will have the game mechanics to do so.

We already know a few popular mmo titles that are heading to consoles.

    Anyways..

I am one not to knock the new ToR, but I just look at it as a Mass Effect Online with Lightsabers. Will I play it? Oh yeah, I am a Star Wars geek, I just hope I am not disappointed.

thats just the point no one should play that pos tor

we need to make bioware see that we the players want what was stolen from us 32+ professions a great crafting and balanced combat system and most of all the chance to play as a jedi knight by working hard at the game. we need to demand that bioware make tor a skillbased sandbox based game

BioWare doesn't owe  us that. That was a choice made by LA and SOE. Your ranting is absurd and completely fostered on prejudicial idiocracy.

Why even bother screening this forum if you're going to refer to TOR as a "pos"? You dislike it without even playing it.

Someone name a game that BioWare has failed on, and not to you personally but as a whole.

BioWare hasn't given us any reason to give up on them yet, so why do a few amazing pictures and a slew of AWESOME interviews give people the impression that it's a mass fail already?

    Stop with the crying already.

I remember that, I remember Koolaid most of all :). You guys brought the fight bloodfin needed at the time :).

Was in fight myself, had many fights with you guys. LOS (legends of scylla) was one of your guilds right?

I think you have your games mixed up. SWG was a POS. TOR hasn't even been released so calling it a POS only makes you look ignorant. SWG was based off a very popular IP with millions of fans and it failed miserably which is why those changes were done in the first place. Seriously, it was four years ago. Stop being such a drama queen and find another game to play.I hear Second Life is still open. THis game should be right up your alley: open world. you can do whatever you want, and no themepark to be found. There aren't many players either (as with most games that are like that) but you can always use your imagination.

So I have been reading through posts and I see a lot of people who distrust in this game getting attacked. I agree that many people have been jumping to conclusions, but I could probably try to word my opinions without jumping to any conclusions at all.

First off, I'm excited for SWTOR, and this doesn't change anything.

But I think the big fear with some people, and me as well, is that there will be instances prevalent in all combat areas and quests, and that the only "MMO" part the only  would be towns, or hubs. I'm hoping, or guessing, that the only instanced parts would be major campaign quests, like on ships, or buildings.

I'm hoping that the rest of the world, with "monsters included, would all be populated.

Now remember, i have never played SWG in my life, I just love star wars, and mmos.

Also, *lol*, i would love mounts and crafting.

I dunno why, but those speedbikes make me pop major bonage.

How many times do you have to be told alpha classes is a horrible idea for MMOs. Go play a single player. Of coarse ToR will be loaded with Jedi. Atleast know something about Star Wars Old Republic era before you come on here babbling about your agenda. I already told you to look up Order 66, for more then one reason. It should answer your questions on why jedi shouldn't have been in SWG (As a player class), and why ToR will be full of them. But that requires the ability to read, right?

Really your entire post made no sense, I decyphered what I could. Punctuation, do you know what that is?

I've come to the conclusion that stillkillin is posting like he is because he enjoys the WTF replies. No one can possibly be that ignorant and grammar challenged.

i've come to the conclusion that you are a fanbot for bioware who wants a boring single player game that claims to be an mmo rather then something great like swg pre-cu.

I've come to the conclusion you are nothing but a troll. Because if you were really concerned about pre-cu you would be playing the one we all know exsists and costs you nothing instead of wasting your time here on a game that has little to do with SWG other than the IP. That would be like me going in and trolling a game made by another company based on NWN  or BG and saying how it should be exactly like DDO because it's all based on D&D lore. People would just tell me to GTFO.

i want pre-cu swg back on the $OE servers where my toon is that toon is on bloodfin and i along with you and others are owed a game

bioware will give us the game we are owed and if bioware didn't ban me and other real gamers from there forums rather then keep the fanbot fanbois around we would have a real mmo in tor

Most of us from Bloodfin are over SWG and are ok with what we see in TOR. If you didn't know most of the large PvP guilds went to play WoW or Guildwars, a few are playing FE till TOR.

Making threads titled “SWTOR is a linear game” will almost certainly aggravate people on those forums, and here. You should know that’s pretty much asking for a ban there.

If you can't handle the fanbots, I suggest you don't post on those forums. I will agree they are obnoxious most times. A lot of the people you find yourself arguing with are tools who followed Sean the community manager over from DAoC, or people who have only played one MMO and liked KOTOR and think they know everything about all MMOs. Regardless of all that, for you to expect to have multiple reasonable conversation on official forums for any game, much less about a topic of how Linear you think the game is, is absurd.

I like how you pretend like these forums are any better.

By the way stillkillin, if you were banned, it was probably because you're an annoying troll.  Hopefully the mmorpg.com staff take a similar stance, and ban you from here as well.

At times they aren’t, but at least the majority of posters here have a more diverse MMO history. Most of us have all played the same games so when you have a discussion about a particular mechanic from another game people know WTH you are talking about instead of just labeling it as stupid because they never tried it and World of Warcraft never had it.

We may be fans, but we aren’t drooling over the game like some of the people over there who think everything BioWare is doing is perfect and they can do no wrong. I know I don’t, but I can tolerate some of these issues I have with TOR more than others since my expectations aren’t the same as they were years ago for MMOs.

But all the "cool" kids are saying that too.   Wait and see.

I'm not going to try to define mmo.  But if people don't want to group in this game, then it's garbage.  If there's not more to do than just quests and combat, then it's garbage.  If it doesn't immerse you in it, so that sometimes you see it as your home away from home, then it's garbage.

By garbage, I mean really big wasted opportunity to make something that trancends the kill and loot theme park mmo mold.
