What IP would you give your first born for and what gaming company would you like to develop it?
For me, it would be "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R. R. Martin with Turbine developing it. If Turbine didn't do it, Blizzard or Mythic (the RVR system would be epic in that situation).
The possibilities for a ASOIAF MMO are endless. You have several houses in different regions which would allow players to side with one and work toward achieving their glory. Classes could Knights (tanks), Maesters (Healers), Rangers (Ranged DPS), Outlaw (Melee DPS), Mercenary (AoE DPS), etc. The MMO practically writes itself.

I agree with ASOIAF.
For me, it'd be Shadowrun.
the official MMORPG.com deadhead
Neuromancer. Developed by Funcom. And I would play so much I wouldn't have time to take care of a kid, so the first born thing would be okay.
Guess I'm a classicist - I would enjoy Shadowrun a lot, too, or even WoD if it ever comes out, but William Gibson was the first.
Shadowrun.
And you can't have my first born. He's my teammate.
Maligar Kelison
Threat Removal
Warhammer. With the caveat that it must be an MMORPG pushing for deep combat rather than the shallow mechanics you see in WAR (faceroll ability design, and excessive crowd control.)
"What is truly revealing is his implication that believing something to be true is the same as it being true. [continue]" -John Oliver
Rumpelstiltskin!
But seriously, Shadowrun and you can only have him it he gets to be a dev.
Maybe the original Horizon design.
Forever looking for employment. Life is rather dull without it.
I remember people getting really excited for AoC and the Conan IP. Fun Days.
I think a mechwarrior MMO done right would be pleasing.
Definately Shadowrun
Rifts
Actually, purely by coincidence, we named our firstborn Sil .... Spellborn International Limited .... TcoS anyone ?
My second family expansion will be in a week or 2 ... and i would like to name him Jayne or her Kaylee ..... for a sandbox FireFly MMO
My first born is free.
He will more than likely have many issues.
Iron Chief Online! ...j/k
To be honest I have not been to impressed with the IP mmo's they seem to let ya down but.....
The one IP I really love has been done....and is being done again right now
/cookie for the first one to guess it
Star Wars?
And as far as IP, something close to Left 4 Dead. I want a survival MMO : (
THE COOKIE IS MINE!
star wars... do i get a cookie?
For me i would LOVE to see a Dune MMO...sandbox, 3 factions...man it would rock so hard
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
H2G2 and Monty Python Online. That would rock
Star wars?
World of Darkness is in dev so I'm a happy camper... Now, back to praying it doesn't suck.
Also, Warhammer 40k is in dev too... Gamer bliss that I hope doesn't get blown to bits by an Earthshaker Cannon.
It's obvious: Discworld. I can't understand nobody mentioned that before.
Dune RvR would be fantastic.
Imagine playing a Guild faction navigator class, you end up looking like a whale sized walrus and being carried around by your human pet entourage.
...now that would be different!
Mad Max!
Indeed it would. I like the idea of your class very much altering your gameplay experience. I imagine a Guild Navigator would have a VERY different UI and gameplay options. It would be nice to see MMOs move in this direction.
BTW - I'm currently reading 'The Butlerian Jihad', Some very interesting info on the beginnings of Spice use and the war against the intelligent machines. Well worth reading.
As for my choices -
Survival horror would be #1. SO much potential gameplay which requires teamwork and co-operation. Not mention comical mayhem. Check out recent threads about this subject. Some very cool suggestions in there.
A world based on Miyazaki's anime. It would make a fine MMO setting.
Larry Niven's 'Known Space' universe. - Who wouldn't LOVE to explore the Ringworld?
Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld. Interacting with famous historical figures as your clan claws out a part of the world for itself.
Roger Zelazny's Amber setting. Some very interesting concepts for RPG play.
Jack L Chalker's Wellworld
The 'Traveller' RPG system
Still lots of great source material untapped for MMO inspiration.

THE COOKIE IS MINE!
Here is your cookie good sir.
Also a cookie for the Mad Max suggestion if done right could be awesome if done right with some good combat but also some car fighting too didn't cross my mind but a good one IMO.
I'd love either Dune or Mad max as someone posted before.
I remember to play many years ago (dont remember how many), i dont remember that much about this game,
just know that u had to survive, there was some kind of earthquake, building were falling down, u had to looking for water and food to survive.
i really dont remember much, is someone able to figure it out with just few hits?
so it was like we are back to be like a cave-man, so we have to start all from the beginning
no weapon, no food, no store... all have to be make by players
image to have a game where player takes time to invent things
< Thank god I am atheist
Yeah, that's the key with all these suggestions... It has to be done well! Damn well!. Otherwise they're all just piece of shit failures. And it sucks to see something like the Matrix Online go down recently. Mad Max would be awesome. I'd like to see it done some day. Not in this MMO era though. MMO's these days are all the same... Devs are in it for the money.
Dune - I'm so in love with that universe & it's characters & possibilities, though it would have to gradually expand & encompass much more than just the war upon Arakis - sandbox is so punworthy for this game lol.
Discworld - would take a very brave developer to try & mold this universe to fit an MMO & still keep the humour, but I'd love someone to try it.
The Matrix - well I know it's just closed but I see that as a good thing, the last game had it's good points but it was too limited & poorly executed, maybe in time someone will do it better.
The Dark Tower - a sci-fi western themed MMO would be pretty awesome I think.
Riverworld - hard to put into words how awesome this would be.
Quoted for truthiness.

Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld.
Would be the best sandbox mmo ever.
Better to be crazy, provided you know what sane is...
