WoW clone from a game trying to enter the western market from Korea. I just don't see it happening or catching onto the western market. Highly disapointing graphics and deceptive graphics marketing and gameplay. Gameplay is a Wow/L2 clone. I just want to throw up. Death to WoW, death to Aion.

    Umm, wow clone?

    How?

I don't see night elves and orcs. I don't see tons of lame and boring instances. I don't see a meaningless and boring pvp system.

The combat system is nothing like WoW.

The armor looks 100000x better than WoW's and it is not designed anywhere near the same way WoW's armor is.

The world and design, quests, mobs, transportation, nothing of it is like WoW.

The false promises and failed content delivery is abscent, this is definately not wow. Remember when we got promised hero classes with release? It has been how many years now, and we got one failure of a hero class?

If you think Aion is a WoW clone you haven't played many MMO's im guessing. If anythign its derived from games like EQ, DAoC, and L2. Good games, not like world of hold my hand craft.

Cya later, and enjoy cataclysm's false promises.

lol Aion is way more like WoW than L2.

Unless you only played L2 on private servers.

Its definatly NOT an L2 clone.....Aion is at least 10X easier.

& what do ya mean disappointing graphics ? they are better than the graphics on WoW.

Posts like these make me die inside, cry and silently wish for your demise.

But really, what's the point in posts like this? Instead of spouting alot of crap how about you hand over some facts?

I'm not completley against it though, I did think it was reminiscent of wow's feeling but still, it hasn't got all the things the same like you said.

Heres hoping NCSoft don't copy everything cause they think 'Omfg lol lieke if we make it like wow we make moneyz moar'

It has good enough graphics and responsive client. And good PvP.

      Uh huh...

      Right.

Play priest, then cleric. Play warlock, then spiritmaster. Play rogue, then assassin....

Absolutely NO similarities there, I swear. Indeed.

Oh wait, Wow has warriors, EQ1 had warriors, Wow has a cleric and a shaman and a druid and a warlock. EQ1 had these things first! Ok, EQ1 didnt have a class called warlock but they did have mage and necro.OMG, Wow totally ripped off EQ1!!! Holy crap, why hasnt sony sued them yet! I will tell you why, Just as another posted on here, its all similarly based off J.R. So please, shut the hell up and move on. Even though classes are "similar" doesnt mean they play exactly the same and its those little changes that can make the class totally different then a similar class in a different game.

WoW  classes are ripped off other RPGs, which ripped them off other rpgs, which ripped them off D&D, which is based heavily on "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkien.

You are a complete moron, or you haven't played Aion: The class COMBAT is VERY similar to that of WoW; the strategies involving kiting, putting up DoT's, positional combat and even timing stuns mirror that of WoW. Of course I had assumed that would be readily apparent, but it seems that I have to dumb down my posts to a down syndrome level for you to comprehend.

All of the key features in AIon can be found in lineage 2, none of which show up in WoW, you have no clue what you are talking about.

By the way, i love WoWs combo system too, i cant believe aion stole thier chain skills and moving combat bonues, and aerial combat, and stigma system.

Wish these nubs would actually give the game a reall chance before bashing it, i really hat ecoming to these forums, its not that i care if people dont like the gaame, as it wont influence whether or not i will buy it, its the fact that every moron here hates every game. Its like everygame is trash an their reasoning is, it is a WoW clone, and then they grip to the smallest similarity, but you can tell easily that they have no substance to anything they are saying.

All these forums do these days is spread hatred, its been months since if drawn a positive post about any game new or upcoming.

Hey retard, it's the similar gameplay, not the class roles. Spirit masters aren't even close to warlocks in lore, yet they function almost identically. Assassins even have a combo point system remarkably similar to that of WoW, yet rogue/assassin classes have never been relegated to that. The EQ2 rogue archetypes lack combo points much like the AoC assassin

You can have classes with the same name/role that play DIFFERENTLY. It's not a novel concept, perhaps you should play other games .

let's keep the troll going. This game is also highly unstable, has NO classes, and zero PvP. It copies the whole questing idea from other games and offers no PvE. Aion will fail because it's I don't like it and it's success in the west is irrelevant because noone cares about that hemisphere.

If you dont like the game then dont play it.

WoW took features from other mmos and improved on them, and it worked for them, aion is taking features from WoW and not only improving on them, adding a much better pvpve system in there, which is what wow is sorely lacking.

You mroons all bash wow but ignore the fact that it is the most successful MMO, its not in first place by just a little, it is so far ahead that new devolopers actually strive for second place, so an improved WoW clone is all any future MMO ccan hope to be, sooner you fools who like to bash the game  realize the sooner you realize this genre is probably not for you anymore, since it seems to offend your sense so much.

LOL, OMG, I cant believe what I am reading. You are calling that guy a complete moron? This is a fantasy MMO. Have you noticed an underlying theme in ALL of them that have come out since Gore invented the internet so many lifetimes ago?

They all have basic fantasy type classes, they all have similarities in their roles and strategies. Do you think WoW invented Kiting? lol, not even close. As I stated in another post in this thread, its about the little things that the classes does that make them unique (that might be a stronger word than I want to use) to their own version of the same used MMO fantasy genres since Gore said, Let there be internet and thus it was. Sounds like you should not even be playing in this genre. Hey, check out Eve online. I guarantee that you wont be able to say it is anything like wow.

Yes! finally someone said it.   So what if Aion coped from WOW and L2, it works and it's fun enough to play and we are not guinea pigs for game software companies!  I love new idea but at least make sure it works first.  Aion did introduce some new ideas in the game, it's a mixture of many good elements from other MMO, and it's great.  Rune of Magic is popular because it has a lot of good "copies" from other MMO.  Just don't play Aion, no one is forcing you to play Aion.

I agree with these two I guess.

Tho I would say from my point of view Aion is closer to L2 in more ways than its like WoW.  Even some of the classes that people have made mention of in this thread as being similar to a "wow class" are actually almost carbon copies of L2 classes.  The the issue is most of the "L2 Copies" are further into the character tree aka you don't start with the class like that... and it is not even the first branch off choice in some casses.

So they basicly made a more casual version of L2 and borrowed some "casual" ideas from various MMO's...

also as the quotes state... nobody forces anyone to play these games.  So I don't see the point of wasting energy crapping on a product you don't even want to buy.

I can certainly understand if someone bought the product and then wasn't happy at launch (AoC/WAR as examples) or had a game they liked changed in a radical way... into something they would have never bought.

But going on and on about a game that isn't live.. that nobody forces you to buy or play... seems kind of .. well to be blunt.. stupid.

Some good posts in the thread tho (like the two I quoted)
