WoW people need to leave Aion
seriously, i am sick to death of logging in, seeing WoW all over the chat, leaving the channel.....Even in the LFG channel all it is, is a discussion about WoW this and WoW that....stop comparing the 2 games, WoW was not a "pioneer" game. If anything you guys should be comparing this game to L2.... So please leave my LFG chat and go back to your cartoon that pretends to be an MMO.

I had a similar yet different experience in OB. When I would log in everyone in general chat was bashing wow this and wow that. So I decided that if I really wanted to read about wow the whole time I play, why not just play wow?

Same in D&D Online, which I am trying out. You dread seeing ANY comment about WoW because essentially that's the main chat window screwed for the next 15 minutes. The community is trying its best to nip it in the bud, because 1) It gets very, very tedious and 2) anyone asking for advice will be extremely lucky to even see it, because of the speed the text flies by because of the flames and namecalling.

How are they going to compare it to L2 when nobody in this country (USA) plays that piece of garbage? They compare to WoW because guess what, most everyone has played WoW at one time or another.

.....but you can "label" yourself as whatever you like. Lots of christians dont believe 100% in a god which is why we always hear them talking about things that "challenge their faith".......and yet they still call themselves christians. In truth many of them are actually agnostic. Only the truly deluded or crazy ones believe in it 100%......and those people are scary as hell.
I would label myself as agnostic AND atheist as well. I think the existence of a sentient god is extremely unlikely so I have an atheist "flavouring" to my views but logically I cant say for definate that it doesnt exist (it might do as anything is possible afterall) as there is no evidence to support it either way.
It was the same with warhammer in the first few months. Don't worry, the wowtards are gonna crawl back to wow soon.

General chats aren't going to challenge your intellects in most of the popular MMOs. That's just how it is. That goes for both the wow comments and the countless "Where's the pirate ship/Rae/dude under Altgard?" comments.
If anything have fun categorizing people into the following 3 universally applicable categories:
A - being an insecure teen, that wants to make sure that he's cool for playing a popular game
B - a wow hater that will use all his time spewing bile over anything remotely related to wow. Don't be concerned whether he actually has fun with any games - the fun for him IS to rant about wow really so which other game he plays really isn't an issue as long as it allows ranting of wow.
C - a <insert mmo name here>-fanboy that uses all his time to advocate his favorite game and why it's better than any other game. Don't start wondering if he actually has time to play it since he obviously uses a lot of effort praising it. He hasn't - he wouldn't be praising it that much if he had.
All are good people, really, and you can have a blast teasing them. You can always set up a private shop and go afk while they give you a looong and emotional speech about their beliefs - who knows, you might even have sold something when you return.
Or - to be serious... Just ignore the comments and get into a good guild with likewise minded.
1. Telling a large group of people to leave the game? Fail. I'm sure the producers of Aion would love that.
2. If you don't like the people in the game, to the point where its affecting your enjoyment of the game, maybe you're the one who should leave.
