It was the same with warhammer in the first few months. Don't worry, the wowtards are gonna crawl back to wow soon.

But seriously...you keep those guys in Aion. I prefer to have all the Naruto-obsessed anime fanbots penned up in one location...makes them easier to avoid that way.

Do you honestly not see the irony of calling wow a cartoon as opposed to an mmo? You seem to be quite enlightened as to the history of mmo's (which would make it wierd that you would make a post about the type of chatter on a brand new games channels don't they all start this way) so I would think it quite obvious to you why people don't compare Aion to Lineage2 who the hell played lineage 2? What was the largest pop that game ever had?

And lastly will all of you mmo players please stop trying to act as if any single mmo on the market revolutionalized anything they all take all of the systems they use not from mmo's but the oldest console rpgs you could possibly think of so in that case you are just as wrong as those making the comparisons and I'm done.

Ya, its sooo lame. People need to try to have fun ingame rather then compare Aion to every single other MMO out. Who the hell cares!! Is your life that boring that you have nothing better to do? Seriously folks...
I turned the general chat off from the beginning...it works wonders man. My time ingame is much more enjoyable because of it. :-)

Welcome to the new world of MMOs where millions of noobs who have never touched a real MMORPG sing WoW's praises as the creator of all RPG mechanics that have been used in MMOs since 1998. WoW is the only MMO I can say without any doubt in my mind, that it did absolutely NOTHING new. Not a single game mechanics was innovated or created. All WoW is, is a kid friendly cut down version of EverQuest. But, because they targetted people who don't play MMOs, it was a raving success, and now the rest of the industry suffers under the weight of its fanboys.

Ppeople who play WoW are in no way better or worse than people playing Aion. Both games are targeting the exactly same audience. The people who annoy in the chats are not those who played WoW before, who make up for sure at least 3/4 of the Aion population, but rather people who like to spam or discuss off-topic stuff. It has in the end nothing to do with WoW itself, but rather with the community Aion is made of.
If all people who had played WoW before would leave Aion, you would on the one hand lose many great people to team up with or pvp against, and on the other Aion would be empty.
Someone annoys you? Block them. A channel annoys you? Leave it. Most of the people around you annoy you? Play something else.

I have fond memories of playing the original EQ but if I went back to it now I'm pretty sure I would find it extremely boring. Even EQ's sequel followed exactly the same path as WoW. Kids were and still are quite capable of playing the original EQ. It wasnt that complicated ya know. I think you probably just have an inflated view of "the good old days".

The old EQ is no longer there. Most of the old MMOs are not the same. The silly argument of "just go back to it!" is just empty air. Patches happen, games change, people stop playing them.
Most MMOs DO bring something new to the table that hasn't been seen in another MMO before, even if its just one or two little things.
WoW did not do anything like that. Not a single solitary feature. Also, I would much rather grind mobs while having amusing conversations with people in groups than follow a magical glowing line across the map, to kill 10 boars for no apparent reason, bring back some hooves, and follow the next magical glowing line. Both are mindless, but one you can actually have fun doing and not just TRICK yourself into having fun doing.

Stand up, unplug your modem, get in your car, drive to the nearest forest or remote area, and live as a hermit.
This is the only way you're going to avoid having to listen/see people talk about things you don't care about. If you decide that you would like to take advantage of the benefits of society, you will have to come back and deal with "other people". It sucks. Deal with it.

Sorry, but your sig makes absolutely no sense. First off, none of the games you listed can in any way compare to those awesome bands... maybe if you replaced it with like, Ultima Online, EverQuest, and DAoC or something. Also, its missing Queen.

Strange, in WoW, noone talks about other MMOs.
I have a few WoW vets in my guild and they are great people, even they hate the general chat....it is a bother but I just ignore it....I only take notice of Legion chat,
The only game I have played that did not have a single retard in chat was ryzom (When it is P2P)
