So, I got Fallen Earth instead, and it's turned out to be the best decision. FE is a really solid MMO, which really sucks you into a complex large world.
CO was fine for a few hours, but by comparison with FE really does not feel very MMOish. I enjoyed myself while I played - although the daily patches started getting irritating - but do not miss it in the slightest now it has been taken away from me.
By contrast, I find myself tincreasingly absorbed by FE.
Thanks to Cryptic breaking CO for me, I have stumbled across an amazing MMO experience I had previously had no intention of buying.

That's great you are soooooo "absorbed" into FE.  But, what exactly does this have to do with CO?  That's right... nothing.  Comparing Apples to Elephants.

Anyways, after briefly reviewing your posting history, I see exactly what you are doing here.  This "CO patch" stuff smells of falsehood.  I have yet to experience nor read any problems from others with the same issue.  Of course, I purchased my copy from D2D, which I find highly more reliable than how Steam does their stuff.

And, your post history has been nothing more than fanatically praising FE and fanatically bashing CO and Aion.  Yeah... sounds like you got an agenda.  Thus, makes me further believe that everything you've said about CO is false.

Just calling it how I see it.

It doesnt matter where you buy your client. Once it start having patches you have exactly the same as everyones else.

Yes it does.  Look to post #18 by the OP.

I really wanted to enjoy CO but the more i play the more i hate it, what a dumb game. Im crazy for a new MMO but i guess i would prefer an expansion to CoX than this crap. Not to mention that even AoC runs better on my comp i think, the game looks heavy and i didnt find the graphics great.

In any event that's all the dungeons I have done in the game and I won't be doing any more as I got fed up with the issues, and bad updates, and lack of content.  I quit a few days ago and deleted the game from my computer.
See this is par for the course.  This game is completely out of control...

The Live Shard is currently down - September 28, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. PDT.* The expected downtime is one hour. You can expect the game to be playable by 8:30 p.m. PDT

I haven't given up on it yet, I may sub this and AION at the same time but I'll probably be playing AION more as it's more polished. CO has a lot of things I do like but they sure weren't ready for release if you ask me. Probably in a few months will start to settle down.

But that instancing in Destroyer, lol...

Imagine driving down a street from one traffic light to another, but in between each light there is one STOP sign every 10 feet. Or like driving your car in a beach town near the shore where they have all those little stop signs the local-yokel cops put up every couple of stores and the posted limit is 5 mph.

Those aren't really instances within the instances. They are part of the same instance. Even when you use a teleport within the same zone it will throw up a load screen while it gets the textures into memory. It typically takes about 3 seconds on my PC. I don't know what all the fuss is about. Its FAR from being one of the real problems with the game.

They may not be instances, but when you have to go through four screens in very tiny areas like that, it shows some backwards thinking.

It's not the time that it takes to get the screen to load, which is fast on my screen too.

The fuss is about that you have to click things over and over when there really shouldn't be a need in that instance. No one said it's the "real problem", but when you pair it up with other things right now it's just one BIG problem that many don't like.

Really? I tried Fallen Earth and I felt it was awful. Too much like I had to make my own fun rather than enjoying content already there for me.

Same here ... only I stopped playing Aion as well as Champions , Fallen Earth has grabbed in a way that has'nt happened since Everquest 1 early days !

only sad thing is is that I may have wasted some money on Aion and Champions , but I guess  can always resub to either of them at a later date.

Thats exactly what it is.. to a point.  What they have to offer is expansive and if you can find the game enjoyable at the start, it doesn't go away. The interesting thing that really got me in this game, is that as I progress it just gets better and easier to enjoy myself.  Whereas some games start out one way and by max level what was once fun has changed and is no longer fun, or you find yourself doing something different for end game that you weren't doing previously....in FE  the same things I found fun at the start are still fun (eventhough I'm nowhere near the end but still).

Someone has his Batman underoos in a bunch here.

Fact of the matter is CO is great at lower levels, but by the time you reach your mid 20's there is honestly not much left to look forward to. You have all the powers you will need or should want by that time. It turns into this constant grind and quest game witch in and of itself is ok if they offered you somthing to look forward too. No great powers or uber loot just more of the same is what CO has to offer.

Well, that is not really accurate banecrow. At your mid 20s you get your nemesis and start doing nemisis quests and gaining nemesis rewards. there are plently of fun missions up through the 30s. When you hit your 30s you go on the Monster Island Crisis (which is a blast) and start doing adventures in MI. A little later you are off to Lemuria and the crisis there. You still have plently of power options at that point, at least I have.

Once you close on max level you have Unilty missions as well though I have not gotten there yet.

There is a content gap in the 30s that forces you to grind some but they have started filling that up.

Overall, they need to keep infusing content but to say there is not much to do by the mid 20s is not what I have found at all.

I still like CO but i bought Fallen Earth few days ago also, and im putting CO on the shelf for a few to see if they fix the issues. But on the other side as far as gmaing not running good sure its not your computer, im able to run CO totally maxed at 1680x1050 with 16xaf and 8xaa.

Dont get me wrong I did have fun but it just got old fast. I did do Monster Island and lemuria both are fun you are right. As for the Nemisis stuff yeah it is a interesting concept but what I was talking about is character growth, in many games you are always looking forward to that upgrade of a spell or special ability that comes in a few more levels. Well that honestly stoped around lv 26 in Champions. Yes there are a LOT of power options but unless you want ANOTHER different attack power you get real limited. You honestly do not need many attack powers in this game, you want your energy builder, a main single target power, AE power and maybe a close combat AE. After those you look at some defencive abilities and utility. well you can only ever have 1 defencive ability active so that limits what you need to get there. It comes down to the fact that yes you do get a bunch of options to buy powers but do you really need them? You already have your attack powers by this point and unless you want to have electric dd power in addition to your fire dd (or some other combo of your choice) it is pointless you will only ever be using one of them in a fight unless you are just wanting to mess around for kicks and giggles. That is my big complaint about there not being anything to look forward to I want to have a reason for leveling all the way up to 40, give me some power or option to look forward to. Its kindof like playing a game in god mode, you get bored fast.

This made me think of two things.

Imagine how bored people would have gotten if the never made that launch day difficulty change.

Also, I bet being a real superhero would get boring as well. No challenges left in life. Already at the top of the charts.

Lex Luthor, a normal human, still poses a challenge to Superman

The Joker, a lunatic with no supernatural powers or formal training in anything, still poses a challenge to Batman

The Xmens greatest challenge is gaining the trust of normal human beings.

    See what I'm getting at?

The funny thing is that either one of them would still die if they got shot in the head, just like batman and countless other superheroes. I think  a lot of people forget that and think that every superhero should be played in god-mode just because some of them are so powerful.

Yeah, I have to agree. Same thing happened to my brother and myself. My brother was able to play the training level no problem. But outside of that, texture2 corruption. I built a new computer that exceeded the specs, and could not play it for maybe 45 mins, before crash. And We purchased the Game DvD, not digital download.  Was looking forward to playing it. Bought and installed Aion, works beautifully. Plus if you check champions forum on www.championsonline.com, alot of people having same problem.

Your still very much a newbie in FE. Lets see if you're still calling FE a solid MMO by the time you hit S2 and S3 areas. It's a very Shallow MMO I'm afraid, a lot go through that first 2 week honeymoon of this is nice and fresh, but the reality of what it really is as you play more soon dawns on a lot of people. Good luck, I bet you don't resub when your 30 days is up.
