- Q's still in 1000s

- Most Stable MMO launch ever

People are loving this game, statistical proof = Xfire.com   ---------> some humble pie for the haters

Success breads haters, and Aion is a huge success from a pure numbers perspective.

Korea wins, GG NCSoft

P.S. the Abyss has the best PvP in any game to date. Loving it :P

A good portion of the players that are experiencing the insane queues at the moment won't drop the game because it's bad, but because the queues are bad. Even I considered dropping the game until things stabilise. It's just not fun waiting 1-2 hours to get in a game as a casual player.

Bottom line, not everything is roses and smiles.

Taking the west by storm!! my ass. more like draining us down the fking toilet. DO you know how many people cant get into the game right now? Ncsoft fked up big time they IP banned the wrong addys now most Aussies cant play(most i mean a lot....maybe 100+?)

  • DelanorDelanor Member Posts: 659

Someone is taking these forums way too serious.

Anyway, launch seems to be a success in sales. It is too soon to tell whether it will last. Not that that is of any importance. The only two things that matter are whether you like the game and, since it s an mmo, whether there are enough players on line to play with. Being able to play helps too, of course.

I think the OP may be being sarcastic...I hope they are. Most stable MMO launch ever obviously doesn't remotely belong to Aion.

  • diruuudiruuu Member Posts: 62

yea but Ncsoft right now isnt taking care of their customers.....if they dont take some action they gonna lose players. tho i doubt its gonna be big enough to affects the games future! AION RULES....but ended up in the wrong publishers hands....

  • XasapisXasapis Member RarePosts: 6,337

Well, the servers were/are stable and the gameplay is smooth. It's just a major pain to get in the game during prime time.

And that they would add servers to add " look what a success".

That's 14US/16 EU. Thatt's around 200K players on line concurrently.

And now comes the time of the level off .... and paying subscriptions.
I now .... predict the game will have the usual 30% retention rate (as no game could retain more than 30% of its players after 3 months in the last 4 years).
Now in 2 more weeks ... the subs set in....
Is Aion worth a sub for more than 30% of its players?
We will see in a few months......

Aion isnt like any game released in past 4 years, its the best MMO thats been produced since dare i say WoW :)

    @Zorndorf:

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but you mentioned doubling the servers, not adding a couple more for each region and language.

Even the added servers are still not enough though, at least for now. The thing is, no matter what the retention rate is, the game will lose people because of the queues. If I can only play a couple hours per day, I can't stay in the queue for 1.5hrs.

As much as I like the game, I can't recommend to my friends joining it considering the current state of servers.

Well although i agree the game is the best to be launched in several years, and contrarily to Zorndorf, im not such a lover that causes me not to see the games flaws, and so, i cannot agree this games launch has beed flawless, much on the contrary.

Many ppl didnt reach the higher levels yet so I have to issue a warning here. Not only are the queues insane up tp this day, but the game client is still bugged and experiencing problems, wich causes major crashes in every big city and massive ppl battles, wich makes them unplayabale. (crysystem.dll crash and some other dll crashes, Sendlog warnings)

As the game stands now its almost impossibvle to experience massive pvp and be on major quest hubs if they are very populated. Unfortunately this is true, and as of this moment there is NOT a single response to this issue even if there are hundreds of threads about it with tens of pages on both official and aionsource forums.

If this continues, both the queues that make the game impossible to enjoy for those who actually work the rest of the day, and the crahses, i think 30% of retention can even be optimistic, and the game will loose much of its player base since its impossible to actually take a fortress if its full of ppl. If they solve them fast, or even acknowledge and release info on at least the crashes, the game can be a serious winner.

Apart from that, if they manage to solve this problems the game has the world for the taking and will surelly surpass everyones expectations, even the haters ones.

I would say Aion's release isn't like any other in the past 4 years. Stability and polish. Good and transparent long-term server management. Sure, some mishaps here and there. Hopefully they will get sorted out quickly.

I haven't even tried the game, but looking at what they do and how they do it I have a feeling this will be the number 2 MMOG for a long time to come.

Queues will drop with time. Meanwhile, the discussions about them gives the game all the marketing it can get; "1000 people in queue? It's that popular? 3 hour wait? People are willing to wait that long to play it? I really need to try it out once things calm down."

Meanwhile you lose people waiting at the queues. Does it make sense attracting potentials by alienating already paying subscribers?

The biggest flaw with Aion is that NCsoft didn't have much faith in its product from the get go.

  • WolfenprideWolfenpride Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 3,988

anyone who has played recently knows the queues don't last any longer than 10 minutes at this point in time..if it even takes that long.

Hmm, I'll talk about my server, EU-Telemachus.

    • First day of pre-order 1.5hrs queue
    • Remaining week until Friday, 5-10mins
    • Friday to Sunday 2-3hrs queue
    • Monday up to now 1-1.5hrs queues
    • Yesterday the queue was 1.2hrs (1 hour, 15 minutes)

These are all during prime time of course. There are no queues if you login earlier than 6-7pm or later than 2am (GMT+2)

The statement that there are no queues currently is false. NCsoft has already acknowledged the problem and announced solutions. Thus the problem is indisputably real.

They don't. They will offer in the future.

For now they are offering 10 potions that boost your exp by 20% for one hour. You'll still need to make a fresh character though, no transfers.

AION was a serious waste of cash.boring mindless grind and a single player game.Only those with minimal intelligence will be impressed with the graphics, other then that it has nothing to offer anyone in the way of mmo's.

    Best pvp to date, ugh.

    drivel drivel drivel ....

You lost all credibility when you insulted those that are currently having fun and playing the game. Please, refrain from doing that again.

Happy to see you've stopped trolling the Champions Online boards with this at least, "Sodapop3".

How much do XFire pay you to make these posts anyway?

One Zorndorf is enough please.  The world doesn't need a second.  It may very well implode if this is allowed.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
